"The pictures of the house do not do it justice. It is beautifully decorated, roomy, and immaculate inside and out. The location is the best part. My family and friends were amazed every day by the activities just minutes away. Place of refuge had clear clean water for snorkeling, tons of fish, turtles, eels and beautiful coral arches you could swim through($3 for parking) Kayaking by Captian Cooks monument where we got to swim with 30+ dolphins, even babies($60 for a 2 person kayak). The boys favorite activity was cliff jumping, 30 foot cliffs, crazy fun.(free). Restaurants around town were wonderful and affordable, but the house had such a great kitchen we enjoyed most of our meals there. The weather is cooler than the resort area by at least 10 degrees, making it just perfect. I can't thank Candi enough for her hospitality. She takes the time to point out the highlights of the area so you can plan your stay. We had 5 teenagers, and they said it was the best vacation they have ever had! That is the most amazing thing of all!"

  • Heaven on Earth

"My husband and I stayed 11 nights in the Jungle Cottage early February 2014. All that really needs to be said is: it is a little piece of paradise! We stayed in a couple of other hotel/B&B as well during our stay on the Big Island, and none of them, nor other places we looked into staying at, remotely compared to the accommodation at Bwana Bob. The cottages there are surrounded by lush vegetation and have a beautiful ocean view; it is extremely peaceful and one feels far away from civilization and lost in the jungle yet Kona is just a few miles away. "Our" Jungle Cottage was so cozy and so romantic, very clean - there could not have been a more perfect place to spend our honeymoon! Upon check-in, I was amazed to find absolutely everything we needed: a kitchen stocked with all the essentials, soaps and shampoos, bath and beach towels, beach mats, folding chairs, snorkeling gear, ice cooler, and yes, even an umbrella! Not to mention a pound of the delicious Bwana Bob coffee, and fresh fruit including the sweetest pineapple! In the cottage there is also a TV, DVDs, videos, magazines, guides, maps - and the list goes on. The highlight of my stay at the Jungle Cottage was being able to pick fruit from the fruit trees in the garden: nothing like starting your day with juice from freshly picked oranges or juicy mangoes and fleshy bananas! Our hosts were absolutely wonderful! They are so friendly and bent over backwards to make our stay as fantastic as possible. We witnessed the coffee roasting process. Well, you haven't lived until you have seen Steve's Roast O Rama and the place where he does it! Fascinating! I could have spent hours in his workshop studying all the machines and robots and gadgets and tackle and apparatuses and equipment! Something to tell your grandchildren about, lol! That coffee roasting process if a must-see, so is Bwana Bob's accommodation! I highly recommend it to anyone spending any time at all on the Big Island! And should I go back to Hawaii, this is definitely where I will want to stay! Thank you Susan and Steve, for sharing your paradise with us!"

  • Comfortable, beautiful and clean condo

"My family and I stayed in this condo for almost a month. We love the personal decorations in this condo, especially the pictures. The picture shows some of the beautiful places that the Big Island has to offer!! I personally like the pictures with the kids. You don't see their faces, so that you can imagine your own kids in that picture!!The condo is fairly clean. The master bedroom is a very good size room. This condo is also close enough to shopping area and restaurants. The unit complex has BBQ area and beautiful swimming pools for the whole family. I highly recommend this place. We will definitely come back to stay in this unit again."

  • Loved It!!!

"We had a fantastic time in this spacious home, there was 7 of us and we had plenty of space. I loved the wrap around balcony upstairs I felt like I was in a tree house. The location was superb, an easy walk to one of the best White Sand beaches on the island and a quick 5 minute drive to the best snorkeling on the island also it is centrally located to great local shops, grocery and restaurants. Another great luxury was the beautiful yard and pool. Look forward to returning soon!"
