Perfect Location and Excellent Value
"My husband and I enjoyed spending our honeymoon here. The condo is very close to the beaches and the farmer's market. It was also well stocked with beach gear which we utilized as much as we could. The lanai has a view of the ocean and it's an easy walk through the complex to the shore to watch the sunset (there was a friendly group that met there every evening). We were able to do day trips like to Green Sands Beach and Kealakekua Bay where we swam with dolphins!! (Go there by 9:30am) We spent the last few days at Magic Sands Beach (swimming) and Kahaluu Park (snorkeling). It was more than enough space for two people. We cooked all our meals and ate breakfast on the lanai. The owner was super helpful, responsive, and friendly. We will definitely stay here again when traveling to the Big Island."

"We stayed at the Dolphin House in July to celebrate my parents' 50th wedding anniversary. Our group of 9 included my parents, my brother and I and our spouses, and my three kids who are in their teens and 20s. We all loved this gorgeous home and ideal location. The home is just as described and shown in the photos, but pictures are nothing compared to actually being there. We had so much space to relax and enjoy the ocean-side location and private pool.
We ate dinner in every night on the lanai and the huge table had plenty of room for everyone. The kitchen had everything you could ever need in term of dishes, utensils, small appliances and gadgets. There was even a small supply of some pantry items, seasonings, etc.
While at the house you feel like you are at a secluded retreat, but the grocery store, Target, Walmart, gas station, tourist shopping are just a few minutes away. Nothing was inconvenient. We used the home as our base and took day trips to Volcano National Park and the Hilo side of the island. Hawaii Island has very different landscapes in different locations and elevations and I highly recommend taking some trips to other parts of the island.
Perhaps the best part of the Dolphin House was the wonderful customer service. A major traffic accident in Honolulu caused us to miss our flight between Honolulu and Kona. It was a pretty dramatic and stressful morning getting our group of nine re-booked on another flight. I called Nicole to tell her we would not be arriving as scheduled and she was so nice - told me to keep her posted and she would tell the driver who was planning to pick us up. Once we had our new arrival time I called her again and she took care of it. What a delight to arrive at the airport to find a driver waiting with a sign with our family name. He helped us get our luggage, offered us cold water and a refreshing towel once we got to the van, and took us right to the house where our two rental cars were waiting in the driveway. We had a problem with the clothes dryer not working properly and someone came within hours to look at it. When it still didn't work properly the owner replaced it while we were out sightseeing. I was very impressed with the level of service and attention to detail paid to us by the owner and his staff and caretakers. A five star operation in all regards.
Our stay at the Dolphin House was the experience of a lifetime for my parents and one my entire family will never forget."

"Best vrbo place I ever stayed. I will remember the views for long time. Saw fish turtles and dolphins from balcony. Well organized and kept clean and beautiful. Will try to stay at same place every time we are in kona."

"Wonderful place to stay. We enjoyed the month of January. Great view of the ocean, especially the whales and the sunset. We love the big island. Much to do and see. Hope to be back again next year. Ground floor is the best."
