  • Fantastic!

"It was WONDERFUL! This was the first vacation ever that we came home rested. Once we got our groceries and settled in, we didn't leave again until we needed more groceries! The ocean, tide pools, sunrises, swimming with the turtles and whale watching were magical. After two weeks, we were still not ready to leave! Thanks for sharing your fabulous home with us! • Truly Paradise

"We just spent 30 days at this house and it was the best 30 days' vacation! When we first got there, I was put off by all the steps up to house as I have a bad knee, but once I got up to the lanai and saw that million dollar view - the knee was totally forgotten! The home itself was clean and comfortable and has everything you will need for cooking (although who wants to cook in paradise?). We grilled on the lanai and it was great sitting and eating out there. But the view and the pond - there are no words to describe it. While we were there for 30 days, we spent most mornings and early afternoons exploring the island at our leisure. We fell in love with the area - we enjoyed driving 137 to the end and hanging out at the parks on that road. It is truly an awesome drive with great views along the way. We went into Hilo at least 2 times a week and found small places to eat and parks there also. We enjoyed the Pahoa market and the Hilo market and found great gifts to take home and could not get enough of all the fresh fruits. We drove up to the mac nut factory at the far north end of the island and stopped in the towns along the way and yes, we even went to the Kona side to one of the beaches. But each day, we looked forward to returning to our home in paradise and just hanging out on the lanai and watching the world go by. We swam in the pond and enjoyed watching/feeding the fish. With the pond next door being so close, it was like watching two giant fish tanks! And the eel in the pond paid a visit every once in a while but was of no bother. As for our hostess, Sophia, we cannot thank her enough for all that she did for us. She is a truly amazing young lady who is beautiful inside and out. She went out of her way to take care of a few problems we had and she even checked up on us one evening when the power had been out for most of the afternoon and evening! You do not find many people who will do that. And Sophia, congratulations on your engagement while we were there! In summary, if you want to feel like you are truly in paradise, then this is the place. It is quiet and peaceful. You will fall asleep with the sounds of the ocean and the frogs and you will wake up to the sounds of the ocean and the birds. Far better than anything man has created."

  • Great place, Amazing people !

"Our stay at Tropical Garden Grove was all we expected and more. The cottage is very cozy and comfortable. We found the location to be very convenient for all the activities and sight-seeing if you have a car; Volcano, waterfall, snorkeling... Our last day coincided with Hurricane Iselle. The owners where exceptional in helping us get through it. They went the extra mile by giving us many options and helping us re-plan the end of our vacation. Thanks again, it was a very stressful day and with your support we felt more helped then any hotel we could’ve stayed in, not to mention that you had to deal with the storm as well ! We recommend this location both for the kindness of the owners and the great escape you will find in its magnificent garden."
