"We had stayed at Cheryl's lovely cottage for two weeks. It was everything we hoped for. The location and surroundings are gorgeous - truly a paradise!
The property is very peaceful and private, we even had our own private path to the ocean (it is very short and feels like a walk through a botanical garden). We had everything we needed in the house, fully equipped kitchen, etc. etc. Absolutely loved sitting on the lanai overlooking a garden, at all times of the day and night. Also, there is lots to see and do within a short distance of the house: black sand beaches, parks, tide pools for great snorkelling, lava fields to explore, farmer's markets, especially Uncle Robert's market where every Wednesday and Saturday locals and visitors get together to shop, eat, listen to live music, dance and socialize. The community spirit of this place is something you probably haven't experienced in a long time if you are an outsider from the mainland. Warm, easy going, lovely people all around! We had a great vacation and wished we could stay another two weeks! Hope to visit again in the future. Thank you Cheryl and David!"

Very nice place to spend time to relax and enjoy the East side of the Island.....
"This is a great place on the South East Hilo side of the Big Island of Hawaii. Very quiet with all the things you need to make your Hawaiian vacation affordable. Cooking your own food will save you a bunch of $$ as well as having a washer and dryer to wash your clothes is a big plus. If you want to do some snorkeling, You will be close to the Kapoho Tide pools and Champagne pond which we both really enjoyed swimming and snorkeling at both these locations with the hundreds of fish. The Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is fairly close, but Pele the fire goddess was clam for most of our stay. There is still plenty of very interesting things to explore and see and with some of the older lava flows it seems like an alien landscape. If you stay here you will probably need a car to get to these places, but it is well worth it for the area you will be staying. Every Wednesday there is a farmer’s market near the parking lot for the beach- don’t miss that event. Friday is not the same as the Wednesday night event so make sure you get to the Wednesday night market. We had a great stay and highly recommend staying here and will be returning in the future."

"We stayed three nights at Babette's cottage and we had a very pleasant time. Babette is a lovely host. The cottage provides everything you need. I stayed at several places in Hawaii, but Babette's place has a very special, positive atmosphere. At night you are surrounded by birds and frogs who make you relax and lull you to sleep. The cottage has a very bright and sunny atmosphere. You will love spending your time there. It is an excellent choice. Thanks again Babette for hosting us, for answering all our questions and giving us plenty of recommendations for the area! We highly appreciated it!"
