  • Paradise Found!

"My husband and I just spent 10 days at Pond Cottage. What a perfect spot. Steps away from the tide pools, we snorkeled every day. Sometimes twice a day! The cottage is very cozy and we were so comfortable that we wanted to stay MUCH longer. The screened porch kept us bug-free and has a beautiful view of the front-yard tide pool. The area has at least three Farmer's Markets which kept us supplied with delicious fruit, vegetables, local cheeses and honey and jams. The owner, Jan, kept us well-supplied with fresh flowers and starfruit. Don't miss out on a tour of Jan's orchid farm! We will return to this beautiful cottage as soon as we can!"

  • Well situated for adventures

"Clean, comfortable house. Nice water feature in yard--a warm secluded pond to sit in and watch the stars. Near to a lot of great activities by car or even walking distance for some. Nice wrap around deck with some ocean view & shade options. Friendly, helpful owners."

  • Family Retreat

"We stayed at Nanea Kai in late July/early August for 6 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. There were 7 of us in our party including 8 & 10 year old grandchildren. The tidal pool was a big hit, both because of the Koi (the kids named each one) and because we could practice snorkeling in it. The house itself is well maintained and up to date. It was wonderful to have a washer & dryer to use. Beds were comfortable and we really appreciated the fans in every room. We traveled to the volcano, the Rainbow Falls, into Hilo, to Mona Kea Visitor’s Center, and across the island to swim and snorkel. We found restaurants & grocery stores in Pahoa although we did stop at Safeway in Hilo as we went through there. We hope that Tropical Storm Iselle didn’t do damage to the property so that others will be able to enjoy it, also. Thanks, Kim, for a great time. We appreciated your house, all your snorkeling gear & boogie boards, and especially your flexibility on our departure time. Our 10 year old grandson summed it all up by saying, as we were leaving, “I’m going to miss this place.”"
