Great part of the island
"I have family on the big island and stay in Hawaii several times a year. I have stayed in a number of locations around the island and decided to try this location. We absolutely loved the location, the tide pools are fabulous. We love that side of the island because you get the sunrise but also have shade in the afternoon. With that being said I feel like I need to give some other information, since I rely on these reviews very heavily when I book a condo. This location is at least 30 minutes from the main Highway 11 that goes around the island. If you are heading out for the day this is fine but if you are running back and forth it is a problem. That being said it is always a beautiful drive. There are excellent eating places and grocery stores in Pahoa which is only 11 miles. The waves are at least 3/4 of a mile from the house with the tide pools right in front of the house. This makes the evenings very quiet. There are coconut beetles in this area and they can be troublesome if you leave alot of lights on, we had no trouble after the first day as long as we were careful not to leave lights on that were unnecessary. As in other reviews, the bedrooms are on the upper floor with an outside stairway. There is sleeping for 6 but any more than that would be crowded. The house is beautiful and well stocked. This house would not be appropriate for anyone who has trouble with stairs."

"We spent 8 nights in this beautiful home.. it is well stocked for travelers down to extra sunscreen... Fully stocked kitchen.. amazing views.. close to snorkeling. We loved the Pahoa community.. not touristy.. spent every afternoon in the beautiful pool. We all enjoyed the frogs.. kind of like crickets on steroids..lol We will definately be making this a yearly adventure."

"My husband and long time friends got together for this trip and we chose this beautiful home, one for location and second for what the house had to offer. We enjoyed the home so much that one day we just stayed there and relaxed enjoyed the atmosphere of this lovely home and each other. We danced on the roof top, laughed and just enjoyed everything. We made cocktails, snacks and listened to music. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home and making our trip so memorable. We would like to make this an annual event!"

"I can't say enough about our wonderful time there! The condo was absolutely perfect for us. Due to the rain and tornado watches, we didn't end up sleeping on the lanai although I spent many lovely nights there before going to bed. Our only regret is that we didn't stay longer! This was our second time to the BI and our first time in the Pahoa area. It is hard to describe what made it so wonderful - everything!: Kehena Drum Circle, Kalapana, Pahoa Transfer Station where the lava recently stopped just short of houses, cemetary, etc. The whole drive up the coast to the north was breathtakingly beautiful! Great, great restaurants in Pahoa. We will definitely be back and want to stay RIGHT HERE (have to say hello to the eel, angel fish, crabs, and tangs again and spend more time snorkelling)."
