The Perfect Get Away Vacation
"We throughly enjoyed our (all too short) time at Shangri-La! So private & peaceful! The property is gorgeous (the photos on the listing do not do it justice). My favorite part was swimming in the lagoon - it was like swimming in your own private aquarium. The property's team did a marvelous job of making sure we had directions, were setup, and even called to check on us when there was a tsunami watch! Thank you for an awesome visit! We will definitely be back! Aloha & A hui ho!"

"We are a family of 3 and this cottage was the perfect amount of space for us. It was so much fun to swim in the beautiful ocean outside your back door. The geothermal "pools" are just spectacular! Bring your own snorkel gear. We were in the water everyday checking out all the beautiful fish. Many people pay good money to get a snorkeling trip like the one in your own backyard. We saw tons of beautiful fish everyday and even swam beside 2 Sea Turtles! It was truly spectacular! House was well stocked with towels and everything that was needed. The master bedroom is very small and the bed not too comfy. But the second room of 2 bunks (4 beds) was great. If you are a family of 4 or 5 this is still plenty of space. It's a cute funky beach cottage and we LOVED every second. If you are not big on lizards and geckos you may be a little squeamish! However, we LOVED seeing all the geckos outside and in the house. There was one in particular that must live behind the cupboards in the kitchen. Numerous times we gently removed it from the house and every time it wound up back inside. My 7 year old daughter just adored catching and releasing geckos. It was hours of entertainment. Lots of crabs down in the "pool" too. She loved seeing them and we did catch one baby one while there to check out and release. The crabs are really quick. They don't like humans and move out of sight when you get near. So again nothing to worry about if your not a big animal lover like we are.
The only negative was that along side of this property is the public access route. So there is a constant stream of people walking alongside your property to access the pools as well. We stayed Monday through Thursday which I'd consider the slow part of the week and there was still a steady flow of people each day. So it wasn't really as private as I would've liked but guess that's the price you pay to be somewhere as gorgeous as this. Others want to see it too :) We'll be back! Mahalo!"

"My husband and long time friends got together for this trip and we chose this beautiful home, one for location and second for what the house had to offer. We enjoyed the home so much that one day we just stayed there and relaxed enjoyed the atmosphere of this lovely home and each other. We danced on the roof top, laughed and just enjoyed everything. We made cocktails, snacks and listened to music. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home and making our trip so memorable. We would like to make this an annual event!"

"I can't say enough about our wonderful time there! The condo was absolutely perfect for us. Due to the rain and tornado watches, we didn't end up sleeping on the lanai although I spent many lovely nights there before going to bed. Our only regret is that we didn't stay longer! This was our second time to the BI and our first time in the Pahoa area. It is hard to describe what made it so wonderful - everything!: Kehena Drum Circle, Kalapana, Pahoa Transfer Station where the lava recently stopped just short of houses, cemetary, etc. The whole drive up the coast to the north was breathtakingly beautiful! Great, great restaurants in Pahoa. We will definitely be back and want to stay RIGHT HERE (have to say hello to the eel, angel fish, crabs, and tangs again and spend more time snorkelling)."
