  • Wonderful homebase for Big Island explorations!

"We enjoyed calling My Hawaii Dream “home” for a week during our recent visit to the Big Island. Shelley and Jeff were both a pleasure to work with and promptly answered questions prior to arrival and quickly corrected an issue with wifi service once we were at the house. We appreciated the fresh flowers upon arrival. We found My Hawaii Dream comfortable and clean. A work-related conflict didn't allow my boyfriend to join me on my trip – instead I had my brother’s company. And while we found the living conditions suitable for our stay, in hindsight, rental of the additional space (as offered by Shelley) would have provided increased privacy and more comfortable sleeping arrangements for the second person. The house was well equipped with all necessary cooking utensils, easily allowing us to prepare meals. We did not make use of the outdoor grill but enjoyed a soak in the hot tub after some days of exploration. The sound of the coqui frogs at night was beautiful. Combined with the sound of the pounding surf, I quickly missed these natural “white noises” lulling me to sleep once we moved to the other side of the island. The location of Shelley and Jeff’s beachfront house was ideal for exploring many east-side island locations. We spent a couple of days hiking in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park (the Kilaua Iki Trail was particularly fun). We explored the varied Hilo attractions (shopping, Farmers Market, Coconut Island and Banyan Drive, Liliuokalani Gardens and Rainbow Falls) and discovered a disc golf course at Naniloa Volcanoes Golf Club (make sure to pick up a map upon paying to play). We had the good fortune of visiting the summit of Mauna Kea with Native Guide Hawaii owner Warren Costa. We ventured north, taking in visits of Akaka Falls, the charming towns of Honomu and Honokaa and Waipio Valley Lookout. While snorkeling options are harder to come by on the east side of the island we made multiple visits to Richardson Ocean Park and the Kapoho Tide Pools. Via Highways 137 and 130 we enjoyed a loop drive through the beautiful Puna district and walk out to Kaimu Beach Park. The Big Island is a special place. There is a great deal to explore and the beauty is vast and varied. Our time at My Hawaii Dream allowed us to settle in and make the most of our visit on the island, while giving us opportunity to create cherished memories."

  • Hali'i Kai at Waikoloa

"My wife and I stayed two weeks at the end of Hali'i Kai drive and loved it so much we booked the same unit for next year! The main attractions about Hali' Kai were: the gym with easy access and an awesome view; close proximity to the gourmet grocery store that we biked to; and lots of excellent running paths up and down the coastline and through the Waikoloa area; very quiet and very friendly. We golfed a lot and access to all the golf courses was just a short dive away. The unit was clean, spacious and well equipped. It was quiet and relaxing!"

  • Beautiful, Comfortable House

"We had the pleasure of staying at Michel and Duane's house for a little over two months. This house is wonderfully laid out that makes everything convenient. The kitchen is large and there is everything you would need. Everything worked well. The lanai gets a wonderful breeze and we enjoyed sitting out there in the evenings. There is a variety of fruits that grow in the yard that are for the picking! Plenty of water storage; there was a long period without rain and the storage at the house never went below 12 inches from the top. The yard was immaculate. The entire property is fenced with a gate and a concrete driveway. I think this is a very understated rental. It is much nicer than the pictures reflect. I recommend staying there. Thanks Michele and Duane for your hospitality and for sharing your home."

  • Naupaka Guest House

"We were pleasantly surprised by the comfort that Naupaka Guest House provided us. We were traveling with 5 adults and 3 children and an additional adult came for three nights. It was comfortable and very relaxing. Our hosts were most accommodating and we send our thanks. We would certainly stay there again if the opportunity presented itself. BF Lodi CA"
