  • Our Piece of Vacation Ocean Front Paradise

"We rented this house last minute & were surprised it was available. There was 3 of us so we had plenty of room. When we entered the home, the windows were open and and a nice breeze was flowing through. There are ceiling fans throughout. The home was very clean and bright. The kitchen is spacious with a massive counter top that can accommodate lots of prep work. It had all of the amenities that we needed & we ate most of our meals at the house. The master bedroom is upstairs with the kitchen, living room, dining area. It has a spacious king bed with a sliding door out to the upper balcony. It doesn't have curtains, but there is plenty of room in the bathroom/walk-in closet to change. At night is not a problem and overall the area is private. The master bathroom shower was awesome as it had 2 shower heads. The half bath is also upstairs which is convenient. The down stairs has the 2 bdrms & bthrms. We opened up the sliding doors which allowed for lovely breezes. The home does not have A/C, but we never felt it was needed. Now to the view... it is absolutely gorgeous! We were out on the balconies a lot!. You can't swim from the property as it's about 40 ft down from the edge & is very rocky & lots of awesome waves crashing against the rocks! We were there during whale migration season & seen whales everyday! 3 Nene's came at the same time each day & hung out. During whale migration season I would recommend bringing some binoculars if you can. Neighbours are great on both sides. There's not really much foliage in between the homes, but never felt it was needed. There is a BBQ... it's charcoal & well used. We drove over to Kailua-Kona & stopped by Costco & bought steaks. We had no experience with a charcoal BBQ but the ACE hardware store about 10 minutes from the house had charcoal that didn't require lighter fluid & lit up right away. We had to purchase a lighter & brush as we were unable to locate either item, we left them there. In the end, we would stay at Pali Hale again in a heartbeat! We absolutely fell in love with it!!! We didn't want to leave! Note: Groceries are pricey, Foodland & KTA asked us for our ph# which gave us the sale prices if applicable. If you can, go to the home prior to shopping & find out what's there it'll save you money & from buying duplicates (there's now about 200 coffee filters) we shopped first! We booked the house with Jeana at Hawaii Paradise Vacation Rentals. She is fabulous to deal with!"

  • Work Trip

"Needed a place to stay close to Hilo, HI for work that was priced reasonable. This was just the home, had everything needed and the home had everything stated in the description. Was a little concerned about the lack of air conditioning but it was not a problem, it cools off at night and the master and living room ceiling fans worked great. I will be back in this area for a month later but this home is already booked. The house is very secluded, from the home you can only see a few other roofs and part of the road, you feel like you are alone in the jungle of Hawaii. The lanai is the place to be when here!! Thank you!"

  • Incredible - Exactly What We Wanted - Highly Recommend This Property

"We were looking for a peaceful relaxing setting for the second week of our Hawaiian Holiday. We got far more than we expected. Their property is delightful, beautiful and peaceful. We enjoyed all the different types of fruit trees and other exotique trees on the grounds. Had so much fun feeding and watching the Koi in their pond, swimming in our own private swimming pool and being able to BBQ on our own patio. Wow - it was fantastic! Toni and Kim are warm hospitable hosts and we are very thankful for their friendship. We didn't want to leave and definitely want to return. Ronnie and Marie"

  • Wonderful homebase for Big Island explorations!

"We enjoyed calling My Hawaii Dream “home” for a week during our recent visit to the Big Island. Shelley and Jeff were both a pleasure to work with and promptly answered questions prior to arrival and quickly corrected an issue with wifi service once we were at the house. We appreciated the fresh flowers upon arrival. We found My Hawaii Dream comfortable and clean. A work-related conflict didn't allow my boyfriend to join me on my trip – instead I had my brother’s company. And while we found the living conditions suitable for our stay, in hindsight, rental of the additional space (as offered by Shelley) would have provided increased privacy and more comfortable sleeping arrangements for the second person. The house was well equipped with all necessary cooking utensils, easily allowing us to prepare meals. We did not make use of the outdoor grill but enjoyed a soak in the hot tub after some days of exploration. The sound of the coqui frogs at night was beautiful. Combined with the sound of the pounding surf, I quickly missed these natural “white noises” lulling me to sleep once we moved to the other side of the island. The location of Shelley and Jeff’s beachfront house was ideal for exploring many east-side island locations. We spent a couple of days hiking in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park (the Kilaua Iki Trail was particularly fun). We explored the varied Hilo attractions (shopping, Farmers Market, Coconut Island and Banyan Drive, Liliuokalani Gardens and Rainbow Falls) and discovered a disc golf course at Naniloa Volcanoes Golf Club (make sure to pick up a map upon paying to play). We had the good fortune of visiting the summit of Mauna Kea with Native Guide Hawaii owner Warren Costa. We ventured north, taking in visits of Akaka Falls, the charming towns of Honomu and Honokaa and Waipio Valley Lookout. While snorkeling options are harder to come by on the east side of the island we made multiple visits to Richardson Ocean Park and the Kapoho Tide Pools. Via Highways 137 and 130 we enjoyed a loop drive through the beautiful Puna district and walk out to Kaimu Beach Park. The Big Island is a special place. There is a great deal to explore and the beauty is vast and varied. Our time at My Hawaii Dream allowed us to settle in and make the most of our visit on the island, while giving us opportunity to create cherished memories."
