  • Cozy Cottage

"This was our last stop on our Honeymoon. This cottage was a welcome change from condos. It is so nice and secluded in your own private rain forest. It was a great place to start your visit to the Volcano National park. Everything worked well in the cottage and we didn't have any issues. Volcano is a really small town so plan accordingly. Most stores close around 530pm. We enjoyed the fireplaces and the decks. Make sure you eat at the Thai place in volcano, but get it less spicy than you are used to!"

  • As good as it gets

"We stayed two nights at this wonderful house. We were most pleasantly suprised when we arrived to find all the food we needed for our breakfasts. If you are staying for more than a few days stop in Hilo to get groceries as they are very limited in Volcano Village. This house far exceeded our expectations. We will be back!"

  • Wonderful stay at Ka Lani Kai

"I stayed with my husband and 3 children ages 5, 5 and 7 at Ka Lani Kai for 4 weeks. We had a wonderful time. The tide pools 2 blocks away are magical. The accommodation is clean and there are lots of towels. The laundry facilities on-site were great for us. The cottage had everything we needed, on-site parking and it was quiet- except for the coqui frogs but they are part of the magic of the place. The Big Island, Puna and Ka Lani Kai are truly unique. Thanks for a wonderful stay - our time at Ka Lani Kai will always be a wonderful memory for our whole family."

  • Good Value

"I would say that this is a great deal for the money if you appreciate a remote location. It is near some very interesting natural sites. It would rate five stars from me if the squeaky doors were oiled. The homeowner provided good directions and a map."
