"As the real estate pundits write: Location, Location, Location! as the key to a property, so I write of Sea Watch. The stunning spot on the bay with the surf hitting below the lava cliffs at the edge of the sea is memorable, and I can still hear it. We stayed south, and across the bay 5 years ago and that location pales compared to this spot. It is very quiet and the sunrise is spectacular. Your proximity to Hilo, Pahoa, and Hawaiian Volcanoes National Park make plenty of day-trips possible------easily----- even up the coast north of Hilo, as we did too."

"Our recent stay at Hale Maluhia was everything we love about the Big Island. Volcanic rock, tide pools, star gazing galore. After a late arrival, my niece and I awoke to the sun rise the first morning and walked to the tide pools to take photos and enjoy the serene setting. The tide pools are wonderful to snorkel, sit in the pools, laze on the lava rock. As we toured the island (thank goodness for the completion of the Saddle Road), we came back to most nights of Milky Way wonder and were lucky to be there for the Perseid Meteor Shower and Scorpio hung low in the Western sky. The house had fresh flowers and fruit to welcome us to the home. Though there was a possibility of a tropical storm, Brenda and the community left instructions on protocol and weather watch information. We slept with the windows and sliding doors open to take advantage of the sound of the waves and pleasant trade winds. Mahalo Brenda for your lovely and welcoming home."

"My family and I stayed here for 3 weeks. It is a lovely place about 30 mins from Hilo and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. We really enjoyed the lush green landscape, sound of the coqui frogs at night and the proximity to a lot of great places. The inside was spacious and clean with comfortable beds. There are lots of farmers markets to shop and eat at all over the island as well as some good little restaurants in Pahoa (a couple favorites were Kaleo's for dinner and Pele's kitchen for breakfast). We had a wonderful stay here and would definitely recommend."

"We had a lot of fun staying at this home. Though it was definitely an older home and surrounded by a few homes which had apparently been abandoned (probably a result of the hurricanes/ tsunamis that recently hit the area), it was a very fun place to stay for families. The kids LOVED the swimming tidal pool so much so that we couldn't get them out of it. The deck area and family/living/ room was a wonderful place to hang out. Kim, our contact, provided us with all the info we needed to make our stay just right. All in all it was a very fun staycation."
