  • Oceanfront spectacular! Peaceful, beautiful and just what I pictured Hawaii to be.

"We stayed at this perfect oceanfront home for 3 nights and it just wasn't enough. The house is just like the pictures and its true, there are ocean views from every room because of the layout of the rooms. There was everything we needed for our mini Hawaiian vacation, and anything extra we needed, Liv would bring within a couple hours. That's definitely a benefit that she was so easy to get ahold of and unlike other rentals we have stayed at in the past, the owners don't live in Hawaii, and often times, I couldn't get ahold of them if we needed something. The weather was perfect! It was nice and cool, sunny with occasional rain, and even felt a bit chilly at night(mid-60's). I would recommend others to visit during winter if you don't like Fall months that are muggy from the hurricane season(I read the review posted before mines). There was also a lot of excitement while we were there because of the current lava flow. IT's not as dramatic as the national news is making it because its moving so slow, and I heard there are a lot of alternate routes to use if the lava actually reaches the highway 130. I just wished they had opened the lava viewing up above Pahoa town. Heard they are letting school children go and see it. That would've been so exciting! I will definitely be back again next year!"

  • Pictures Do Not Do This Paradise Justice!

"Wow, My husband and I eloped to the Big Island and stayed here at this wonderful home for our private honeymoon. We wanted something secluded, on the water, nice, clean, and affordable. This home provided all of that and more. Booking on line is scary, especially given all the scams these days. We hoped for the best and expected nothing. We walked into the house and our jaws dropped. Hawaii hotels with no view, no kitchen...twice the price have nothing on this home. Clean, well kept, astounding views from all of the rooms, quiet and somewhat secluded, we were in heaven. Our first night we woke up at 4am to a spectacular sunrise and fresh coffee. We had stopped in Hilo for groceries on the way there (recommended, a bit of a drive) so we had a wonderful breakfast & coffee on the Lanai watching turtles and the sunrise. We did this every morning. My husband and I fell in love with Pahoa so much so, we have decided to move here sometime in 2015! Thank you to the wonderful owners for sharing this paradise."

  • Great little getaway!!

"this was a working vacation for my husband and myself, as we have purchased property just up the street. So this little house gave us a good indication of what we can expect when we move here, which we will do so soon. We saw everything we wanted to see and swam with the fish, tried to surf, etc. The house was tidy and I could find just about everything, even to zip lock bags and tape, even a boogey board came in handy. Thanks, Tim."

Pahoa Travel Tips

Discover Hawaii's Volcano With Pahoa Vacation Rentals

Located in the Puna District near Kilauea Volcano, Pahoa vacation rentals are less than an hour from Volcano National Park. A trip to this area offers spectacular views of the world's most active volcano. Watch ash plumes fill the sky and eruptions flow from the volcano's tubes. Tours explore lava tubes, craters, and steam vents. Locals celebrate the volcano as the fine work of the goddess Pele. At night from the dining room of your rental home in Pahoa you can watch the red glow of lava as it makes its way down to the ocean.

Explore Nature From Pahoa Vacation Houses

Pahoa vacation houses are a good starting point for enjoying the Big Island. From Mid-November to April, humpback whales make the waters surrounding Hawaii, their home. Private lanais with views of the Pacific Ocean provide a relaxing place to watch dolphins and sea turtles as they swim and play. Mango trees line roads from Kapoho to Kalapana, and you'll find a hot spring lagoon open to the public near Pohoiki Bay. While many people think of Hawaii's white and golden sand beaches, the Puna District is home to the state's black beaches. Formed from black lava stone, Beach Naupaka and Kehena Black Sand Beach create a striking background to the white waves of the ocean.

Enjoy the Water Near Puna District Beach Rentals

In the Puna District, beach rentals line the shore, putting you close to water activities like kayaking and swimming. At nearby Kapoho, you can snorkel in marine-sanctuary tide pools. Ahalnue Beach Park offers a geothermal-heated tide pool warmed to over 90 degrees. Relax and let the water massage your body, known as Watzu. If you prefer an actual massage, schedule a Lomi Lomi massage to help your relax.
