"This treehouse exceeded our expectations. You will love staying here and will be a highlight of your trip. The treehouse was beautiful with enormous windows, which made us feel that we were part of the forest. While the treehouse has the amenities you'd expect of world class lodging (incl. easy access) the treehouse is environmentally considerate and there are features everywhere that are thoughtful and convey a story. The owner loves to help you fully appreciate his creation. He also provided valuable information on the area and local amenities. The property is rural, so you will want to buy some supplies, but we found Volcano Village (5 min away) to be well equipped with small grocery stores and excellent restaurants. Also, note that it is cooler and wetter than most would expect in Hawaii. In spite of that, the treehouse is very dry and cozy."

"we arrived at the Cottage after a 24-hour or so journey from Europe and immediately realized: yes, it was worth it! Directions are easy to follow, the location and tranquility of the place are exquisite, stairs to the porch invite to step into the house, which is equipped with everything one might think of wanting during a vacation and even some things more. TV, Wi-Fi, gas fireplace - everything works fine, which means you feel at home really fast.
The Cottage is perfectly located for excursions to near by Volcanoes National Park, we also enjoyed driving up to the top of Mauna Loa Rd. Finding the Volcano Winery at the end of Piimauna Rd. (open for Hawaiian wine tasting!) was another pleasant surprise. Conclusion: if ever we have a chance to come back to the Big Island we'll also come back to Volcano Cottage. Absolutely 5-Star - Thank you!"

"Jim and I stayed 5 nights in this beautiful bungalow at the edge of the village of Volcano. Wonderfully designed and situated in the trees with lanai to catch every breeze, little stoves to heat the cool evenings. We loved ending our days roaming lava beds at nearby Volcano National Park ten minutes away with a soak in the big jacuzzi. In the morning the Apanani birds sang us awake. The whole place was clean and elegantly appointed. It's quiet and secluded but close to places to eat. We loved Thai Thai and went there twice. We also cooked in the well supplied kitchen. It was the perfect place for us. Mahalo, Joyce!"

"Wonderful rental house with a fabulous pool. We stayed 2 weeks and were thrilled at how well the house worked for our vacation. The location on Kaloli point is perfect for a stay in the South Hilo area. Hawaiian Paradise Park is a beautiful neighborhood with lots of great activities and incredible views. The walk to the ocean is short and the coastline is so cool. We saw whales and turtles right from the shore. The house is as gorgeous as it looks, and by far the cleanest Rental home that we have ever stayed in (we rent at least 2 or 3 times a year). We highly recommend this house for your future vacation."
