  • Amazingly Fun & Relaxing

"This place was just so wonderful!!! We had 2 couples in our party and there was plenty of room for all of us to relax and enjoy this fabulous home. The lava rock pond has wonderful healing thermal spring waters and we were in it all day long. The Champagne pond down the street was a lot of fun as well as the tide pools close by. This house has all you need to enjoy & have a great vacation. Thank you Kathy for thinking of everything!"

  • A great stay

"This little cottage was the highlight of our trip. It was very peaceful and a great place to come home to after our day was done. Great base from which to explore to Volcanoes National Park. The host keeps the cottage in pristine condition and everything we needed was included, plus extras. We would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in that area of the island."

  • hawaii getaway!

"We chose this rental because of the bed! It was very comfortable. A very well equipped property but it did need a really good clean - didn't bother us, but it hadn't been dusted for weeks. The main problem was getting there. The map provided gave the wrong street name so we could not find the house, no cell reception to phone the owners, so we had to drive back to the nearest town to get through. In all the search for the house etc added 3 hrs on to the journey. It was most distressing for two jet lagged seniors. Why don't you give the full address to customers after they book and pay ?the rental."

  • Well provisioned and great location

"The location of this house could not be beat for access to Volcanoes NP and Volcano Village. I was apprehensive to book this rental because nobody had reviewed it, but I was pleasantly surprised with this lodging. The house was very clean and very well stocked with cookware, condiments, and other kitchen basics. It had everything we needed except a blender, but we overcame. The house is cozy and comfortable with dim lighting. Although the house is very close to the main highway, it was quiet and felt remote. Believe the guide books when they say to stock up on groceries before traveling to the volcano area. We were able to find charcoal briquettes in the village so we were able to use the charcoal grill out on the patio. I'm sure we paid a premium price, so buy ahead if you think you might want to grill. A word of warning, this rental had only one double bed. The other two bedrooms had twin beds. I found the double bed and pillows to be incredibly comfortable. If I ever need lodging in this area again, I will not hesitate to rent this house again. I thought it was a good value and will recommend it to others."
