  • Home away from home

"Our experience at the Kapoho cottage was spectacular. We went with our 2 boys (7 and 3) to celebrate our 7 year olds birthday. Not only was the cottage cute and comfortable including everything we needed, but the property was beautiful, and the owners were very friendly and welcoming. The warm water made up for the chilly and lightly windy weather on our first day, and we stayed in the pond all day until dark. It was nice to have access to the private pond as it was clean and safe for our children. We brought bread with us and fed the fish everyday. I suggest tabis or water shoes especially for children as the algae can make the steps at the main entrance of the pond very slippery. Our boys would complain every time we had them come out of the water to eat or to call it a day when it was getting dark. They kept saying how they wished they could live there and how it felt like home. We were so sad to leave and we cannot wait to go back for another visit!"

  • Beautiful Ohana

"Loved staying here our first trip to Hawaii. Having a pool to ourselves was really wonderful. Plenty of privacy, and close to shopping and Hilo. The most relaxing part of our trip. THANK YOU GISELLA."

  • Wonderful

"The Lite House is a great little house away from all the hustle and bustle of Kona and Hilo. We walked to the Champagne Ponds every morning for a quick dip. The house is on the edge of a quiet a serene neighborhood at the edge of a lava field. Watching the sun rise over the lava field each morning was magic."

  • Just love it

"I spent ten days end of March 2015 at Hale Mauka and simply had a great time! The location is just perfect - surrounded by rainforrest and fern trees - very quiet and only three miles from the entrance of Volcanoes National Park. I enjoyed to get in and out the park in just a couple of minutes. After a long hike a shower and cold drink was only five minutes away. Volcano Village has minimal infrastructure but Hilo is reached by only a 30 minutes drive. There is any opportunity for shopping - cheapest fuel on the island - and 'No-Door-Helicopter-Flights'! Hale Mauka is equipped with everything you need. There was even a coffee-grinder to brew your Kona Coffee really fresh and enjoy it on the large deck. I would love to get back and stay for a month. Wait for my message as soon as the lava flows into the ocean again."
