Great Vacation House in Kapoho
"This is a great house to vacation in in Kapoho Vacationland. It is clean, comfortable, spacious, and conveniently located near the Wai'opae tide pools snorkling area. The tide pools are a great place to snorkel on the East Side of the island. We live on the island and this was our third stay in this house, so I guess that we like it for a little get-away."

"There were ten of us in our group and more than enough room for all of us to lay our heads. The proximity to the National Park was amazing as we would go back and forth and you are literally there in less than five minutes. Greg, the owner, was great to work with and would highly recommend you stay at his home if you are doing and adventure on the east side of the Big Island. We cooked our dinner at his home and everything you need is there and then some. Our stay was short but was wonderful!"

"My husband and I and our 2 boys (11 & 14) stayed here for 3 nights. It was a beautiful, large home and property, and we loved the private pool! The home was very clean and the kitchen had everything we needed and more. It is about a 30 minute drive to the volcano, waterfalls around Hilo and the tide pools. We had a nice dinner in nearby Pahoa. The home is in a rural neighborhood and secluded.
Unfortunately, it was in the mid to upper 80's during our stay, and with no air conditioning, it got very hot. The temperatures didn't cool off much at night either. I would have liked to spend more time relaxing at the home, but we felt like we needed to be somewhere cooler during the day. And as soon as it gets dark, there are the frogs. I understand this is an invasive species that is very hard to get rid of. However, they are very loud, especially when you have to sleep with the windows open to cool down the house. My husband and 1 son did just fine. Myself and other son are light sleepers and had a difficult time sleeping."

Very nice place to spend time to relax and enjoy the East side of the Island.....
"This is a great place on the South East Hilo side of the Big Island of Hawaii. Very quiet with all the things you need to make your Hawaiian vacation affordable. Cooking your own food will save you a bunch of $$ as well as having a washer and dryer to wash your clothes is a big plus. If you want to do some snorkeling, You will be close to the Kapoho Tide pools and Champagne pond which we both really enjoyed swimming and snorkeling at both these locations with the hundreds of fish. The Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is fairly close, but Pele the fire goddess was clam for most of our stay. There is still plenty of very interesting things to explore and see and with some of the older lava flows it seems like an alien landscape. If you stay here you will probably need a car to get to these places, but it is well worth it for the area you will be staying. Every Wednesday there is a farmer’s market near the parking lot for the beach- don’t miss that event. Friday is not the same as the Wednesday night event so make sure you get to the Wednesday night market. We had a great stay and highly recommend staying here and will be returning in the future."
