"A Graduation Party in Hilo"
"There was a lot of space and the accommodations were good. The view and sound of the ocean was absolutely beautiful. It was very enjoyable sitting out on the lanai. All the needed items such as kitchen items, towels, bedding, etc. were well supplied. With that said, I must add the following. I have stayed in 2 other properties of yours and the condition and cleanliness of each rental was always excellent. This one was not. The floors were not swept up well. The metal rack which sits in the sink was very dirty, areas around sink were dirty. The 1st bathroom, down hall had a shower curtain that had mildew on it. There was a lamp in the living room that had no bulb. Just thought you might need to know these things as I have never found such conditions all the other times we have stayed in your rentals, which as I recall was about 5 different times. All in all...we had a wonderful stay! Aloha..."

"My Husband and I absolutely loved this cabin. We were debating between living in Hilo (Ocean) vs Volcano Village(Forest) and I am glad we picked Volcano Village and this house. It a whole different experience living in a Rainforest compared to oceanfront houses which you can normally do at a lot of places.
The house was extremely clean and well-kept. It has all the amenities you need in the middle of a rainforest. Its very peaceful and quite and we loved waking up to the view of the forest. Plus the Volcano Park is just 5 mins away. Would love to come back some day.
Side note: If you are living in the village, do check out Cafe Ono, it has some great meals."

"Stayed here with my wife and 4 children. They didn't want to leave and we would come back again. They loved the pond in the back yard and the Champagne pond and had a blast snorkeling. The pond in the backyard was better than the Champagne pond in our opinion. The kitchen had what we needed and there were some snorkeling toys available for use. We never used the downstairs rooms or pool table.
Generally a quiet location although we did hear the neighbors occasionally but it still felt secluded and private. Very different feeling than Honolulu which is exactly what we were looking for. You can hear the waves and birds constantly so it was never perfectly quiet (I thought it was nice to hear).
The drive to the nearest grocery store is a bit of a hike, but it wasn't really out of our way since we passed in front of it whenever we went to Volcano National Park, the Punaluu black sand beach, and waterfalls. The Big Island had just about everything we wanted to do - I'd recommend this location unless you want the party / beach scene of Waikiki. Loved the house and location. Sonia was a gracious hostess / manager."

Excellent base for Puna (Pahoa), Volcano, Hilo and snorkling!
"Good, out-of-the-way place, more a neighborhood than a tourist spot. 20 minutes to Kapoho Tide Pools and 30 minutes to Onekahakaha. Generally quiet, sounds of the waves lovely at night, dogs are fine, but one of the neighbors does like to throw the occasional loud party. Be sure to check out Pahoa Fresh Fish and Boogie Woogie Pizza if you are hungry, Just Crusin' for the best coffee, Kadota's Liquor for awesome boutique beers and Hilo Bay Books for lots of great used books!"
