  • Tastefully done,has all necessities

"It was a charming condo at a very quiet and convenient location.the furnishings were very comfortable.the bed is better than what I have at my home..a very thoughtful thing is that the housekeeper preserves what is left by previous renter in usable state.i barely had to shop for groceries. The only problems I had was the internet speed and no dishwasher. Overall a good stay.i would surely return"

  • Exceptional Unit and Location

"I just came back from a 6 day stay in this unit. It is FANTASTIC!! The Pono Kai resort is a mix of private owners and units owned by the resort. The view is gorgeous, not ocean front, but there are no obstructed views of the ocean. The resort has other buildings that are "ocean front" but our view was just as amazing. Had to check in with the front to get our pool keys and a parking permit. Other than that, they can't help you any further with your unit since its privately owned. Grounds are well kept, and has BBQs around the buildings. What attracted to us to this unit also was the trail that was in front of it. We were not dissapointed. Its about a 5 mile trail along the coast. We rented bikes and enjoyed it everyday! Cannot beat the location also! Lots of food and shops in the Lihue/Kapaa area. The pictures provided are outdated, since the unit is not decorated the same anymore. When you walk in the couch is on the right side and there are 2 recliners on the left. Different table and the kitchen has been remodeled with new cabinets/black appliances. If you want the more updated pictures please feel free to message me and i will send them your way =). Unit was spotless, and the kitchen was well stocked with everything you need. Bathroom came with two towels, but obviously there were only two of us. There were beach towels provided by the unit owner. We could not get beach towels from the hotel since it was a private unit. There is a community washer/dryer you can use to wash them. There were even beach chairs! The internet in the lobby is free, but if you want it in your unit you have to pay. Not wireless either, and the instructions are in the unit on connecting. The AC in the living room works REALLY well, but noisy. We kept it on while we were away to cool the room, but turned it off once we got home since it was a little annoying. With the room cooled and the ceiling fans going, we were very comfortable. There is also a AC unit in the bedroom, but it did not cool as well as the living room. Only one AC can be on at a time from what we can tell. It was not as bad though with the ceiling fans going. Bedroom has a dresser and closet space for your needs. Bathroom was clean and pretty much like any other bathroom. I have stayed in budget to luxury hotels and in my opinion this unit was great!! i would definitely stay here again! The unit was perfect for 2 of us. As mentioned before the only complaint was the loud AC, but it wasn't THAT big of a deal"

  • A great place for a family vacation

"I rented D404 and the unit next door-D406 for a family vacation. We were 3 generations from 6 months to 60 years. This condo was perfect for us. There was something to satisfy the different wishes of everyone in our group. The ocean views were spectacular, the pool area provided hours of entertainment for all. We used the fitness room, barbecued dinner on the outdoor grills and went for lunch and poolside "to-go" drinks at the on site restaurant. The location near Safeway and local restaurants was very convenient. The condos are well furnished and D404 provided plenty of room each evening for family get togethers. The only improvement I would suggest is better internet/wi fi. The service provided through the resort is slow and unavailable most of the time. Overall, we loved this place and would travel here as a family again."
