  • Anahola vacation home

"House was very nice and well stocked. Outdoor shower was cool! Lots of snorkel stuff, boogie boards etc. Only negative was lack of much breeze with beautiful windbreak all around property, and somewhat noisy road very close by."

  • Fabulous Beach House For A Group Vacation

"Our group of six had a great time at this property, and all agreed that, in all our many trips to Kauai (for some spanning over 30 years), it was our favorite accommodation. With four bedrooms and three bathrooms, I think the property works best for a group of between five and eight. The pictures do not capture how stunningly beautiful the view of the beach is from the large dining table, living room and deck – all are great gathering places and, at this time of year, also wonderful for whale viewing. The kitchen has all you need to prepare group meals, and there is a barbecue on the deck for preparing the usually available local fresh fish (best place for fish continues to be the Fish Express in Lihue). As with many (most) beach houses, upkeep and fix-it availability are key issues when considering a rental. Roger Lasky, who has been the caretaker for this property for the past seven years, lives within ten minutes of the property and was very responsive and capable in assisting us with minor fix-up details. He’s a great guy and also a good source of information about local resources and things to do. Anahola Beach where the property is a half-a-mile sandy beach on a nice bay that, depending on conditions, can be good for swimming, boogie-boarding, kayaking, paddle boarding or other water activities. The houses along the beach appear to be equally occupied by residents and vacation renters. We found people to be friendly, and the remarkable little beach dog, Sardine, who lives next door, the friendliest of all (Sardine of Anahola has a well-deserved local rep for being friendly & has her own Facebook page). Away from the beach, the rest of the small town is working-class residents. For provisioning or restaurants, you should probably plan on making the 5-10 minute drive into Kapaa. Many thanks again to the owner and Mr. Lasky for a great vacation experience."

"The property was perfect for our families. I brought my adult children, my sister brought her son and daughter-in-law, we had other friends joins us for a night or six. There was plenty of room! The house is a nice size and it is well kept. We thought it was perfect for us!"

"If you want to get away from the commercial hotels and the touristy bustle but still be close enough to everything...stay here. Lee and Maria's second property is quiet, private, well kept and is conveniently located (you should have a car to really enjoy the island). It's a split level house with two independent units. By the end of the trip it felt like we had a little home on the island. Lee and Maria were excellent hosts giving us privacy but being responsive to questions. A definite recommendation from me."

Anahola Travel Tips

Enjoy Hawaii With Anahola Vacation Rentals

Anahola vacation rentals provide the perfect setting for those who want to experience what Hawaii felt like before resorts dotted the shores of the state. The quiet location of Anahola is the gateway to the North Shore of Kauai. Nestled between the sparkling blue water of the Pacific Ocean and the towering ranges of the Kalalea Mountains, Anahola offers miles of white sandy beaches. The beauty of the area has even attracted Hollywood, with films like South Pacific, Seven Days and Seven Nights, and Raider's of the Lost Ark utilizing the scenery.

Play and Stay at Anahola Beach Rentals

As a predominantly residential area, Anahola beach rentals put you within walking distance of the water. While people who stay at resorts have to contend with crowds, the only thing you'll need to worry about is where to set up your beach chair. The protected coral reef makes the water a safe area for children, and you can spend the day collecting shells, building sandcastles, swimming, or sunbathing. Take advantage of fully equipped kitchens to pack a picnic. If you like to fish, the area offers deep-sea fishing expeditions.

Kauai Travel Lets You Tour Paradise

Kauai travel opportunities let you pick the way you prefer to explore the natural beauty of the garden island. You can walk, bike, hike, or take a horseback ride on mountain trails. Touring the Waliua River will bring you to the Secret Falls, a great place for photos. If you want to explore the area from the ocean, you can kayak, sail, or surf. Helicopter aerial tours are also available. After spending the day having fun, head into town for a burger at Duane's Ono Burger or get one of Auntie Angelina's famous Hawaiian Lomi Lomi massages.
