"This unit had everything we needed and we like to eat in. We had 10 people for dinner and Susan's unit provided enough for all of us. It is very nicely decorated as well so nice for having friends visit.
It is a spacious condo that flows really well. Bathrooms as well as kitchen are well equipped.
Only problem was the sea wall reconstruction that was happening out in front. The diggers and the fence blocked the view and the beach access. Don't worry this should be long gone by the time you are there!
Great centrally located place in the middle of all of the attractions Kauai has to offer."

"My wife and I first stayed in this unit back in 2008. Since then we've stayed in 4 different units at the Pono Kai Resort over the years and this unit is still one of our favorites. The location & view are very nice even though it's not oceanfront. The unit is set back from the oceanfront walkway as you can see from the picture from the unit's lanai. If walkers, joggers & bikers looking into your unit bothers you this unit would be perfect for you.
The unit is showing a little age and could use some updating but it's comfortable and well equip. Also, it has chairs for the beach, beach umbrella, beach towels, large cooler, noodles for floating & snorkeling equipment for you to use.
One thing that did bother us on this stay was a musty smell when we entered the unit but it went away once the doors to the lanai were opened letting in the fresh air and the cool the breeze. The unit doesn't have air conditioning and generally it not needed except on the rare occasions when the trade winds aren't blowing.
Kapa'a is a great location as home base for visiting the rest of the island. Traffic can be a little bit of a hassle when leaving the Pono Kai Resort but not enough for us to consider staying elsewhere. Nice beaches are a short drive away and you can be in Hanalei in about 45 minute and Ke'e Beach in about another 20 minutes. In the other direction it's about a 45 minute drive to Po'ipu Beach and an hour to the road leading up to Waimea Canyon.
Bottom line....This unit at the Pono Kai Resort is one of our first choices when we come to Kauai. It's a nice unit in good condition with a nice view making it a good value for the money."

"This was our 2nd time to stay in this particular unit and the updates that have been completed since our last visit are amazing and give the unit a NEW and Clean feeling. My husband was so impressed he has already booked our stay for next year. The resort works well with the owners and the guests that rent out the unit!"

"The property location was a 10 as we found so much to do in Kapaa for both us and our teenagers. I recommend the Bull Shed for dinner in Kappa if you like Steaks and Duke's in Lihue for sea food. The zip line in Princeville was too much fun and well worth the cost for a family adventure.
The condo was very large, well furnished, very comfortable and the two bedrooms surprisingly bigger than expected. We stayed in mid July and it was 90 plus the whole week and the three A/C's throughout the condo worked well. The bathrooms were large and there was a washer dryer in the second bathroom which worked out perfect for us. There was a 65 inch HDTV in the living room with a Blue Ray and over 50 DVD's to watch which made it very relaxing in the evening for me. There was also HDTV's in each of the other two bedrooms which my boys enjoyed as well. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. The island contact the owner uses was so nice and helpful we tipped her. The view from the Lanai could not be any better and the beach was fun to swim and we felt safe. The only problem we found was a week was just not enough time."
