  • Great place to stay.

"The location is great, walking distance to Starbucks a PLUS. Plenty of beach, pool, shopping and views."

  • Fabulous unit and fabulous customer service

"I cannot stop raving about this luxurious home. We (5 adults+ 2 kids) thoroughly enjoyed our stay (Dec 2014) at this vacation rental in Kapaa. The fabulous accommodation made our stay a memorable one. Everything in the original description of this listing is true. If I remodel my home, I'm stealing a lot of ideas from this one :) It's hard to beat the location - right on the beach, with a 180 degree view of the ocean from the patio, living room and master bedroom. We spotted whales right from our patio during day, and several falling stars at night! You can see the sunrise right from you bed. Extremely well kept unit, and the entire campus is also very well maintained. Lots of stuff to do, as you can read in other reviews here. The bike trial is beautiful, just perfect for a run/walk. Aleta (the owner) has been thoughtful enough to provide beach equipment (chairs, flippers, boogie boards) for use. I must say that both Aleta and Monica (the on-site manager) were super responsive and super helpful. They responded promptly at odd hours, weekends, holidays, even Christmas and new year's eve! They make a fabulous customer service combination, and I hope it keeps it going!"

  • Wasilla Alaska

"The room was a neat, and clean third floor studio. (all rooms seem to be the same as I believe that it was once a motel or the like) It had a microwave, sink, small refrigerator and was air conditioned. The deck over looked the pool and out to the ocean. Some mornings you could see whales spouting from the deck. There was a table and two chairs out there to enjoy the view. I liked it for several reasons…. it was quiet, grounds were nice, beach was near, restaurants were close, coffee was served in the lobby at 8 am every morning and Kapaa is centrally located for travel to all points on the Island. Since we did travel a lot, we were not in the apartment very much. We were out and about. It is what we do. I would recommend this for it value, cleanliness, and location for two possibly three people… as there is a fold out. There is a local bus that some of the people were using so I guess a car in not a necessity."

  • Best place to stay on East side of Kauai!

"This was my second stay in Gary & Barbara's condo at PonoKai and it is my favorite! The location of PonoKai, and especially this unit is perfect for me. The privacy and usual quietness of the unit, as well as ocean view, make this ideal. I love being in Kapaa town, close to restaurants and shops, especially quilting stores, Vicky's and Kapaia Stitchery. The Trade winds are wonderful for freshness and cooling most of the time. When VOG blows in, a fan is needed. Gary's unit is stocked with just about everything you could want or need in kitchen or for outdoor excursions. Gary always responds to questions and the local caretakers are responsive and helpful. I would highly recommend this unit for anyone."
