A very nice change from a luxury resort!!!
"Had a wonderful 4 nights at this cozy, rustic cottage tucked romantically away in the lush foliage of a hillside in convenient Kapa'a. It shows a little bit of the wear and tear of constant visitors but was immaculately clean upon arrival and had supplies for just about any requirement - to include some beer in the fridge. The hostess has thought about every detail and it shows. My young adult daughters loved the loft - their own personal getaway - and my husband enjoyed having his "Kauai" coffee out on the lanai in the morning watching the sun come up. The bathroom is larger than is typical which allowed 3 of us girls to be all in there together in the morning to get ready. There is no a/c but we were there during a "heat wave" and the trade winds kept it pleasant for all but the very most hottest part of the day. I can't rave enough about the comfort of the king-size bed. I have not been able to sleep on my back in years but the bed was so comfortable that I got some of the best sleep ever. I am hoping she will share with me the make and model of the bed so I can end my poor sleeping here at home. Please???? Anyway, the driveway is very steep so we opted to park at the top of the driveway in the grass. We didn't mind. We had Fred and Ethyl (our names for them) to greet us each morning (the neighborhood cows). This cottage is a special treat - don't miss it!"

"We have stayed at Pono Kai at our family time share for many years. Our family has outgrown our unit and are delighted to have found this one at the same property. Upgrades are very nice. Great lighting, beach toys/chairs appreciated. Pono Kai is an older resort so if you are looking for the Marriott it is down the street. We love Kapaa it has a relaxed neighborhood feel. The unit is on the ground floor which I liked because I could walk out the door right to the beach. It does mean you can't leave the door open while you are away and sometimes hear the people above you. But it is a worthwhile trade off for me. My only wish is for an A/C unit in the bedroom but these were built with the unit in the main living area. Fan was great. Check in was easy, entire renting process went smoothly. Will be back."

"Our family had the pleasure of staying at this cottage while we searched for a permanent home on Kauai. The owner is a most gracious and thoughtful host who went out of his way to ensure a memorable experience. The cottage has a real home feel to it. Clean, comfy, and beautiful as well as convenient location."

"Really great place. Nice size. Very private. Lovely to get fresh towels etc. every few days. Sitting down on the beach with your feet in the lagoon can't be beat. Great location, plenty of restaurants within walking distance. Owner was really easy to deal with, even sent flowers on our first day. Can't wait to go back. We were 4 adults and felt very comfortable in this unit."
