  • Perfect for us!

"I chose Shayne's wonderful condo based on reviews so it's only fair to leave my own for someone else to use. My daughter and I met here for a week's vacation. She lives in Alaska, I'm from Wisconsin and we don't see each other often enough. First things first: Communication with Shayne was great. He answered all my emails prior to arrival in a timely manner. Condo was so easy to get to from the airport! It's basically one turn into the driveway. The location could not be more perfect and I would absolutely stay on this side of the island when I return. You are so close to everything here....Walking distance to many restaurants, Coconut marketplace, the bike path and the beach. The view is breathtaking to say the least!! Every morning I got amazing pictures and all were different. The condo is clean and well equipped with everything you could possibly need. We appreciated the cooler, beach towels, chairs and the washer/dryer the most. The umbrella also came in handy a few times. Most of our meals were eaten out but we made breakfast every morning and enjoyed it on the lanai. Did I mention the view?! I just got home last night and I've done nothing but look at pictures! I let my daughter have the bedroom because I wanted to sleep closer to the sound of the surf. She used the a/c but I didn't feel the need with the wonderful breeze that blew straight through the condo. We swam in the pool a few times. It is newly redone and we met some TA people that offered to help us in any way, even offering up their printer for boarding passes. Pool was perfect! The beach is fabulous and RIGHT THERE! You only have to walk to the side of the building, down some stairs and a few feet to get there. Every day we watched surfers, swimmers and kite surfers from the balcony. We visited all the other beaches up and down the coast but were always happy to come home to "our" beach. Definitely check out Smith's family Luau while you are there. We walked there and it was a wonderful evening. I've been to a few luau's and this one had the best food by far! I loved the location because you could get anywhere on the Island in a short time. We drove north to the end of the road one day and went the other way two different days. We did the Napali Coast tour one day and it took less than an hour to get there. You can't go wrong with Shayne's condo so don't hesitate! If you have any specific questions please feel free to PM me. Kris"

  • Excellent place!

"We are very happy with the condo we rent. It's actually equipped with everything you have at home plus extra. There is a fully equipped kitchen with all pots and pans, plates, glasses, even sipping cups and blender. There is plenty of towels, blankets and beach chairs and even good quality snorkeling gear. It's very close to the beach, just few steps away and walking distance to coco market. We also walked about 1mile to rent bikes. We like the owner and how quickly she responds to any questions. Great quality place. We would recommend the condo to anyone."

  • Comfortable In Kauai

"Before I rented this unit, I read every review I could find on the property. (Who has money to waste, right?) Well it's exactly as pictured. It's a wonderful property and a well appointed unit. There was not one thing we needed that we, (two adults), did not find. As a matter of fact, we almost bought beach chairs, cooler and umbrella before we noticed the door on the lanai and opened it. There we found everything we needed for the beach. Check there before purchasing anything. We found four large beach towels waiting for us inside the unit too. While the furniture was nice, it was a bit uncomfortable for lounging. Not a huge drawback though. I also assume other guests left behind their spices so even that we didn't need to purchase. It was just some basic items but enough for our needs. The kitchen was very well equipped. As a matter of fact, just as well as home with dishes, utensils, pots and pans. While AC would have been nice, if only in the bedrooms, we made do even with 85 degree temps however, the 75 -90% humidity was a bit hard to take at times. We just stayed in the water as much as possible. Still, all in all if I ever go back, even alone, I will rent this two bedroom unit. It was the best on the property in my opinion. Note, it is on the third floor and the stairs can be trying at times but you learn to adjust. Meaning, if you didn't bring it up or down the first time, you probably won't go back for it. But who can't use exercise? Do not hesitate to rent this unit. The grounds, beach and pool exceeded our expectations. We traveled to Poipu and up north for day trips and after seeing both of those locations, we were extremely elated that we picked the east side with it's peacefulness and limited amount of people."

  • Perfect Location

"This condo was in the perfect location in Kauai. Traveling to the north and south is very easy for day trips. Having the washer and dryer was essential. There are plenty of beach toys, towels, mats and coolers available for use. The beach and pool on site was awesome. We snorkeled, swam and laid out on the beach daily. It was an easy 10 minute drive from the airport. There is only one major road going north to south, so it is very easy to navigate. There are 2 grocery stores less than a mile and the Coconut Marketplace is in walking distance. The town of Kapa'a was a great little town to shop and eat. The grounds were beautifully maintained. Only drawback, we were there when there was a heat wave, which was great for the beach but sleeping at night sometimes was a bit warm as there is no AC (in most homes they do not need it there). The Oasis restaurant and Hukilau Lanai far exceed any restaurants on the island in our opinion. We attended the Kalamaku Luau which was awesome. Lastly on a trip to Napoli Coast we used Capt Andys and we would pay to go again and again ( I cant say enough good things). Cant wait for our next trip, leaving the island was very hard!"
