"We really enjoyed our stay at the condo at Wailua Bay View. It was clean and stocked with everything we needed, and even some extra perks like snorkel and beach gear and Kauai travel books. The owner gives thorough and very clear instructions. We really liked the location because we wanted to visit the south and north end of the island and so staying at the condo made the drives much shorter. It is also very close to many restaurants, shops and grocery stores. It has an amazing view and it is so nice to open the glass sliding doors and listen to the waves."Guest: Chandra H. "We could not have been happier with our condo. My husband and I stayed here with our 19 month old toddler. We brought a pack n play that fit perfectly in the bedroom on the side of the bed. The view of the ocean was absolutely gorgeous- we loved the peaceful sound of the waves crashing, and being able to wake up & enjoy our meals on the lanai. The washer and dryer was a huge plus, and saved us from having a ton of laundry to do when we returned home. The location on the east side was perfect for us because we wanted to visit both sides of the island without a long drive time. We would definitely stay here again and will recommend to any friends and family that travel to Kauai. Mahalo for a wonderful stay!"Guest: Michelle T. "WOW! After visiting almost all of the towns, and their beaches on Kauai, Awapuhi Sunrise might just be the very BEST ocean view on the island of Kauai! From the first sight of the bay from the Penthouse's wall of glass, to the very welcome ocean breezes, our stay was AWESOME! Although we got some record heat, humidity, and a passing hurricane, we couldn't have found a prettier place to be sheltered away. The furnishings were comfortable, tasteful, and unique. Awapuhi Sunrise's staff was welcoming, and calming (we ALMOST booked a flight home because of the hurricane warnings). Mahalo to ALL, for keeping us updated, and making us feel comfortable during our stay. I would HIGHLY recommend Awapuhi Sunrise to all."Guest: Happy Honeymooners Date of Stay: October 2014 Review Submitted: October 23, 2014View listing
"We own a VRBO in San Diego, but had never stayed at one. This was a perfect first VRBO stay! We were looking for a relaxed, not frenzied resort environment--we were looking for a home. The condo has a pool, tennis court, and small beach. The location was great—30 minutes to the airport and only a mile to Safeway, Subway, Starbuck’s and nice restaurants if you don’t want to drive. A coin laundry steps from the front door with a laundry sink to rinse out salt water, sand, or that famous red dirt was nice to have. Our favorite aspect of the facility was the landscaping. Stone walkways lace the property. There is a koi pond, and if you ask, the grounds keeper will let you feed them. There are small and large planting areas of bromeliads with artful color schemes and many palms. Every night the Tiki lights were lit from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. Most mornings we walked to the beach (steps from the condo) for the sunrise. Kauai is a fairly small island, so travel to the North, South, or West was easy. There were a variety of travel books at the condo, and we found “The Ultimate Kauai Guidebook” to be our favorite. It was a nice and relaxing vacation and this condo was a great find for us."Guest: Donn R. Date of Stay: October 2014 Review Submitted: October 28, 2014View listing
Wailua Travel Tips
Wailua Vacation Rentals Offer Serene Beauty
Wailua vacation rentals are a great place to stay if you want immediate access to the Wailua River State Park. The park covers over 1,000 acres of land on the island of Kuaia, and it includes Lydgate Park. If you like to kayak or canoe, the river is one of the state's best destinations. The minimal current makes it easy to paddle up and down stream. At the southern side of the river, you can pause for lunch at the picnic area. With vacation rentals in Wailua, you can enjoy a fully equipped kitchen, making it a breeze to prepare your favorite meals to go.
Wailua Beach Rentals Make it Easy to Catch a Wave
With Wailua beach rentals, you get to stay near the water, and in many cases on the waterfront. A few steps bring you to a beach where you can snorkel, swim, sunbathe, or fish. Build a sandcastle or wait for low tide when you can explore the shallow pools filled with aquatic treasures. If you like to surf, grab your board. You can enjoy kite boarding, wake boarding, and wind surfing, too. When you finish playing, head back to your beach rental in Wailua and rinse off. Toss your wet swimsuits and towels in the dryer while you enjoy watching TV in the furnished living room.
Kauai Travel Takes You to Paradise
Kauai travel opportunities let you enjoy the garden island. If you like archeological sites, plan a trip to one of the nearby heiau. These Hawaiian temples pay tribute to yesteryear, preserving the history of the island. Whales, dolphins, and sea turtles like to swim though the waters, and the crystal-clear water is great for snorkeling. With vacation rentals in Wailua, you can also enjoy aerial tours and outdoor expeditions.
