  • Comfortable In Kauai

"Before I rented this unit, I read every review I could find on the property. (Who has money to waste, right?) Well it's exactly as pictured. It's a wonderful property and a well appointed unit. There was not one thing we needed that we, (two adults), did not find. As a matter of fact, we almost bought beach chairs, cooler and umbrella before we noticed the door on the lanai and opened it. There we found everything we needed for the beach. Check there before purchasing anything. We found four large beach towels waiting for us inside the unit too. While the furniture was nice, it was a bit uncomfortable for lounging. Not a huge drawback though. I also assume other guests left behind their spices so even that we didn't need to purchase. It was just some basic items but enough for our needs. The kitchen was very well equipped. As a matter of fact, just as well as home with dishes, utensils, pots and pans. While AC would have been nice, if only in the bedrooms, we made do even with 85 degree temps however, the 75 -90% humidity was a bit hard to take at times. We just stayed in the water as much as possible. Still, all in all if I ever go back, even alone, I will rent this two bedroom unit. It was the best on the property in my opinion. Note, it is on the third floor and the stairs can be trying at times but you learn to adjust. Meaning, if you didn't bring it up or down the first time, you probably won't go back for it. But who can't use exercise? Do not hesitate to rent this unit. The grounds, beach and pool exceeded our expectations. We traveled to Poipu and up north for day trips and after seeing both of those locations, we were extremely elated that we picked the east side with it's peacefulness and limited amount of people."

  • Village Manor, Kapaa, Kauai

"We had a great time. The condo was very nice, clean, had everything we needed. More than enough room for 2 of us. It's a very quiet place (except for those stupid roosters at 4am hahahahahaha). We only saw a couple neighbors briefly, otherwise it was like we were by ourselves. We didn't have a need to contact the property managers for anything so I can't comment on that. Very convenient access to the main road around the island. We didn't use the water gear but it was nice that it was there. 1 suggestion for a "nice to have": we could've used a small cooler for day trips. It's not something you think of ahead of time or pack on a trip. Wasn't a big deal, tho. VRBO didn't really provide detailed directions to the condo. It wasn't too hard to find, especially since I'd looked online already. But we arrived after dark so it was just a little confusing. Also, I had to dig through emails to find the one that had the unit number. As I'm looking now at the contract agreement, I see it all there. Let me suggest making that stand out a bit more. Maybe bigger, bold text, a different color. That way when someone is fumbling around trying to find the directions & address, it will jump out at them. But it wasn't a big deal - we arrived and found the place just fine - and had no trouble finding the lockbox with the key. It was a convenient short walk to a couple grocery stores. One of the local kayaking outfitters is only about 100 yards away. And the beach is about the same. The public access to the beach isn't marked but easy to figure out. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a place to stay."

  • 10 days of relaxation

"I almost didn't write a review for fear of letting out a secret and making it tough to get a reservation next year. This is the second time we have stayed at Waipouli Beach Resort. It is a beautiful property, quiet and relaxing. Great for kids ( our first trip) and adults this time. The unit we stayed in had everything we could have asked for. I may be partial but I think it is the best unit on the property. All rooms open on to you private lanaiwith the ocean right in front of you. Because no other unit adjoin you the lawn in front is only used by you. It is located next to Oasis Lounge which is a very nice resturant. If I was going to be critical of anything it woud be one room with twin beds which was not really a problem for my brother and his wife and the walk from the parking lot. That is being pretty nit picky. If you haven't been to Kauai you are in for a treat. We can hardly wait to get back and hopwefully in the same unit."

  • Peaceful retreat

"This is a very restful vacation spot. Lights out by 10 pm rule assured us that we'd get a good night's sleep. The three rooms are basic but comfortable. They're equipped with everything we needed to enjoy fresh island food. The real joy was that the grounds teamed with gorgeous foliage - and some really spectacular spiders. I enjoyed a fresh picked grapefruit every morning and avocados at will. The rooms are north facing and partly below grade so they could get musty but island breezes easily aired them out while this design enhanced the sense of intimate restfulness- of being part of the lush landscape. Our trip combined sight seeing with some family visiting so we often needed the respite we found in this calming room. We stayed two weeks and enjoyed every day."
