"The condo was wonderful. It was perfectly located and beautiful. It really is as beautiful as it looks. I was able to prepare meals when I wanted and easy walking to places to eat out too. The cooler and reusable grocery bags was a lot of help. Easy to pack a lunch for outings and the haul your stuff around. I will definitely be staying here anytime I come to Kauai. If you need help decided what activity to do on the island; Blue dolphin catamaran in Port Allen is a must do and you definitely get your money worth. You get to see dolphins up close, snorkeling in a beautiful cove, you see waterfalls up close and the captain will even navigate under one for those wanting to get wet (yep that was me!). Also the kayak tour with Rainbow Kayaks right out front of the condo was awesome. I had so much fun I took home wet dirty laundry because I was enjoying myself so much. The only negative was not having internet access in the room. On occasion I had trouble getting enough signal to even use the internet on my cell phone. But it was all worth the early morning sunrises on the beach, hearing the ocean waves as I slept, and waking up in paradise. Working with Don and Christina was extremely easy and friendly."Guest: Vhondalee M. Date of Stay: August 2014 Review Submitted: September 7, 2014View listing
"My husband and my 3 adult children stayed in this awesome condo for our dream trip to Kauai in August 2014. Exactly as described, with all the amenities you will ever need. We watched the sunrise every morning from our lanie! The resort pool was beautiful. The location on the island is great and within short distance to everything. Loved the bike path! John the owner was wonderful! Thank you John for EVERYTHING! The Oleck Family -- Jackson, NJ"Guest: virginia o. Date of Stay: August 2014 Review Submitted: October 13, 2014View listing
"This Pono Kai ocean-view unit is nicely furnished and well kept. The kitchen is well equipped and the unit has a combo VCR/DVD player, wi-fi, two TVs, a stereo and an assortment of books and movies, perhaps left behind by previous guests. It sleeps 4 (two on a pull-out couch). There is a table and chairs and a chaise lounge on the lanai. Pono Kai is centrally located in Kapaa and within a short walking distance of restaurants and shops. There is a pool, tennis court, barbecues, shuffle board courts, etc. on the premises. There is a laundry room on each floor and an elevator. The grounds are kept very nicely, plenty of parking, and a beach path for walking or cycling."Guest: Cheryl G. "Our group of six had a great time at this property, and all agreed that, in all our many trips to Kauai (for some spanning over 30 years), it was our favorite accommodation. With four bedrooms and three bathrooms, I think the property works best for a group of between five and eight. The pictures do not capture how stunningly beautiful the view of the beach is from the large dining table, living room and deck – all are great gathering places and, at this time of year, also wonderful for whale viewing. The kitchen has all you need to prepare group meals, and there is a barbecue on the deck for preparing the usually available local fresh fish (best place for fish continues to be the Fish Express in Lihue). As with many (most) beach houses, upkeep and fix-it availability are key issues when considering a rental. Roger Lasky, who has been the caretaker for this property for the past seven years, lives within ten minutes of the property and was very responsive and capable in assisting us with minor fix-up details. He’s a great guy and also a good source of information about local resources and things to do. Anahola Beach where the property is a half-a-mile sandy beach on a nice bay that, depending on conditions, can be good for swimming, boogie-boarding, kayaking, paddle boarding or other water activities. The houses along the beach appear to be equally occupied by residents and vacation renters. We found people to be friendly, and the remarkable little beach dog, Sardine, who lives next door, the friendliest of all (Sardine of Anahola has a well-deserved local rep for being friendly & has her own Facebook page). Away from the beach, the rest of the small town is working-class residents. For provisioning or restaurants, you should probably plan on making the 5-10 minute drive into Kapaa. Many thanks again to the owner and Mr. Lasky for a great vacation experience."Guest: Gordon Date of Stay: February 2014 Review Submitted: March 11, 2014View listing
