  • Just Perfect

"We were looking for a spot to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. We didn't want a pre-set itinerary, we didn't want to deal with crowds, we just wanted to chill and enjoy. We found just the spot. It has been all been said before but this is just a perfect location to enjoy Kauai. The condo is very comfortable, well appointed and spacious. We spent most of our time there either in the water or on the lanai. Touch choices, but there you have it. The grounds are beautifully groomed and quiet. Even on the weekend when there are a few more locals on the beach, you would still think you were the only ones around. Susan was very responsive to our inquires leading to our stay and was equally responsive during our stay. Our stay was shortened by one day as Hurricane Iselle was approaching the island. However, Susan was quick to respond to us and willing to work with us had we not been able to leave as scheduled. Kapa'a is a terrific location on the island as it is halfway to either end of the road. The condo has a number of really wonderful restaurants within walking distance. We particularly enjoyed Hukilau Lanai and Kintaro's. Even the grocery store and drug store is within walking distance. The lawn and "keiki" pond is great for families with young children. The beach is fun for anyone want to play in the surf. Really, just too perfect for words. We are so pleased that we had the opportunity to stay in this piece of paradise."

  • Beautiful View! Would actually give 4.5 stars; enjoyed our time here!

"If you are looking for a place to stay in Kauai that is centrally located, truly oceanfront (with wonderful "beach music"/wave sounds), is comfortable but not opulent, is housed in a small, low key, beautifully landscaped complex, and is reasonably priced, then this small studio condo may be for you. This ground floor unit. It has a beautiful view while seated on the lanai or from just inside the glass slider door; one benefit of having a ground floor unit (besides no stairs if that is important to you) is you can pull your chaise lounge right out onto the grass in front of the unit! This small studio has everything you need for a nice, quiet time for 1-2 people. There are a few imperfections (the bed could be a bit more comfortable; it is 2 twins held together to form a king, bathroom is small but very cute & modern, kitchen area is a bit tight for two people to try to prepare dinner at the same time, & on site laundry facilities have limited hours) but they are NOT enough to be off-putting. This unit was spotlessly clean, decorated nicely, very well provisioned kitchen with new/clean pots/pans, etc. There is a small, wall mounted flat screen t.v., cable, & DVD player & in room safe. The owners have thoughtfully provided a few beach chairs, cooler, etc., & the management of the complex provides beach towels. Housekeeping comes by Mon/Wed/Fri to take the garbage out and exchange bath towels. If you are staying a week or longer they will change your bed linens mid-week. What I loved the most about the units @ KS, is the bed is located on the ocean side of the building, just inside the glass lanai door. Why is this important? I have stayed in many condos in Kauai over the years; many of them were larger but had the bedroom placed towards the highway side of the building. That may be a better arrangement if you desire a more formal living/dining arrangement, have guests over, or require a sleeper sofa, but you also hear more ROAD noise this way instead of the tranquil "beach music"! You will hear some road noise even in the oceanfront units at this complex, but you primarily hear the ocean at night & will awaken to sunrise right over the ocean right outside your door, and glimpses of sea turtles in the bay! For 1-2 adults who don't mind a small kitchen/dining area, this is a wonderful place!! You could live comfortably here without a car for a week or so (many restaurants & shops within walking distance) if you don't need to go sightseeing."

  • Awesome!

"My husband and I stayed a week. It was the perfect place for us! Gated, quiet, beautiful views and condo grounds too. Everything we needed was there waiting for us. Comfortable bed too! The perfect location for seeing the entire island and close enough for walking for an ice cream or great meal. Thanks so much!"

  • Perfect place to stay

"We (family of 6 with 2 adult children) stayed at the villa for 10 days and this was as a dream come true! Kauai is a wonderful place on earth and the villa and its location are spectacular, the pictures give a good imagination, but it is even better - the true paradise! The villa is very well kept and extraordinary tasteful decorated, including very confy beds - an unusual vacation home. The cove is great for swimming and snorkeling and well protected from the currents, that could be very strong on other beaches. However, one have to be carefull with the corals, who sometetimes sharp corals and for surfing, you have to find an other beach. The cove host lots of beautiful fish. Shopping is not to far away in Kapaa (we used Foodland, the supermarked offers local products an fresh fish of great quality). The place is perfect located to all interesting places on Kauai. We can highly recommend the Villa. If you go out for breakfast or dinner, try Hemingways cafe for breakfast, great place! For dinner the japanese restaurant Kintaro and the Hukilau Lanai for fish and Hawaiian food (bit more expensive but excellent). Blue Hawaiian helicopters did a great job in showing the beauty of the island, our boat tour to the Na Pali Coast with Kauai Sea tours on the katamaran " Lucky Lady" was great, too, both can be highly recommended. There is an unbelievable beauty on this islands nature. One lives with the light: getting up with sunrise and go to bed not to late after sunset, very relaxing, so do not expect too much nightlive, but this is something we did not miss at all. Comming from Germany with a time difference of 12 hours and a fight time all together of nearly 26 hours, unfortunately, Kauai and the secret cove villa can not be our yearly vacation place, But with captain Kirks starships "Enterprise" beaming technology opportunities it truly would be! Marion and family, Germany"
