  • Wonderful Anahola/Paradise Vacation!!

"We had the most wonderful stay at the "Playhouse" at Anahola! Belle and Alex welcomed us with snacks and juice and the sweetest oranges from the farm, which were just the ticket after a long flight. Our new 'home' was perfect! Beautiful sunrises across a spectacular vista and even some whales spouting in the distance. We were steps from the beach, which became our favorite part of our vacation. Daily beach walks in an incredible setting - it doesn't get better than smooth sand, warm surf, walking hand in hand with your sweetheart! We were even treated to a visit by K13, an endangered Hawai'ian Monk Seal, who rested on the beach one morning! Our cozy home had everything we needed and the washer and dryer were very welcomed. We could have packed a whole lot less! Trips to Waimea Canyon, Hanapepe Friday Night Art Walk, Ke'e Beach and partial Kalalau Trail hike, Na Pali Coast Boat/Snorkel Trip, endless Farmers' Markets, and little trips here and there were beyond wonderful, and it was so great to begin and end our day on our Lanai watching the waves and occasional beach walkers in a fabulous quiet corner of Paradise. We must say meeting Sefo, one of the few remaining traditional carvers on Kaua'i was a highlight. He shared his art and heritage with us, which we will always treasure, especially since we've added two beautiful Tiki carvings to our home. What a great reminder of a fabulous vacation! We would recommend this wonderful home without reservation - it is conveniently located on the best side of the Island with access to the North and South/West. Belle and Alex are really lovely hosts and ensured our stay was perfect. We will never forget our visit and look forward to our next stay! Great places to eat... Tiki Tacos, Eastside Restaurant, Hukilau $50 five course/wine pairing (5:00 - 5:45) in Kapa'a and Duane's Ono Charburger in Anahola. It's all so fun!"

  • Great Condo, Great Location

"This was our first trip to Hawaii. My wife and I stayed in this unit and my two boys and their families staying in a unit close to ours. The airport and car rentals are ten to fifteen minutes away from the resort. The condo had everything we needed and is very well kept. The condo looks just like the photographs. The pool is just steps away from the bedroom and living room and the beach is just a short walk away. The pool is very well kept and we used the barbecues a couple of times to cook dinner. Our grand kids loved feeding the Koi and the frogs that go in the Koi pond at nights. The owner, Laura, was able to rent us a pack and play for one of the grand kids to use, which was very helpful. Just across the street from the resort is a McDonald's, Starbucks, two grocery stores and severals restaurants. While the beach at the resort is not good for swimming, Lydgate park, which is a short distance away has two shallow pools that are nice to swim in or great for children to snorkel in. There is a lot to do on the island. We went zip lining one day and we went to Smith's luau another night. The food was great and it is all you can eat and drink, including alcohol. While at Smith's we also took the river cruise to the fern grotto. One day we went on the train ride at the Plantation. The grand kids liked feeding the wild pigs and chickens. We went paddle boarding at Nawiliwili beach and drove to the North and West sides of the island. The North shore was beautiful. There are a lot of rivers, beautiful beaches, and waterfalls. On the West shore we went to the coffee plantation and had lunch at the Shrimp Station in Waimea. We loved the time we spent on Kauai. I only wish we would have had another week."

  • Wonderfully relaxing stay!

"I very much enjoyed my stay at this lovely condo on the beach. It is as described in the pictures and description and is perfectly located midway between the north and south shores. Communication with the owner was prompt, informative, and very helpful. I would definitely stay here again. Book with confidence and enjoy this wild and beautiful island."

  • Clean...well stocked...comfortable and great location

"we stayed here a week...with a car...and thought the location couldn't be beat. Close to all the sights and beaches. When we checked in we noticed right away how sparkly clean everything was. The kitchen had all the stuff you could need....even a fresh spice rack! 3 TV's...great wifi...great location...what more could you ask for!"

For an even more beautiful hike situated not far from Kauai lodging, consider taking the two-mile Ke'e Beach hike. After viewing exceptional coastline views, the trail will take you through ohia, kuki and bamboo tree groves before concluding at a cozy little beach nestled near a sea cave.

If you are looking for a quiet place to get away and enjoy some time away from the hustle and bustle, East Kauai vacation rentals are also located near one of the most attractive and secluded beaches on the island. Just make sure you leave your Kauai lodging early enough to beat the crowds.

Take a Whale-watching Cruise near Kauai Lodging

If you plan to time your vacation in Kauai condos during humpback whale season, which runs from December through April, then you will certainly be in for a treat. During this time, these gentle giants come specifically to the beaches of Kauai to give birth. Take a whale-watching cruise and enjoy the opportunity to view whales as close as 50 yards from your boat. Cruises depart not far from East Kauai vacation rentals.
