  • Wonderful Experience!!

"I searched high & low for a condo in Kaua'i prior to stumbling upon this gem. Not only is determining the hotel/condo difficult, but also figuring out where on the island to stay proved a challenge. Kapa'a didn't disappoint. It's centrally located on the island allowing (quicker) access to both the north and south. If you wish to get out and see the whole of the island during your stay then I highly recommend this area. Please note if you wish to hang out at the beach and swim in the ocean this isn’t the place for you. While the beach is lovely, the ocean floor is rough with coral and rocks and not a good place to swim. The condo unit, and the Waipouli Resort, also did not disappoint. I chose this unit based upon price and previous VRBO and TripAdvisor ratings. While the unit is not directly on the ocean, you still have moderate ocean views and a nice view overlooking the pool area. The unit itself is extremely well appointed (I would know as I build houses for a living). The kitchen and bath were perfect with high-end appliances (Sub Zero and Viking) and plumbing fixtures. We ate the majority of our meals in, so this was a huge plus! There is also a Safeway literally across the street which was great for accessing food in a pinch. The bed was very comfortable and the unit was well maintained and clean. It also had many smaller perks like beach gear, extra sun block, and misc. kitchen items (dishwashing detergent, laundry detergent, etc.). The Oasis Bar & Grill located at the resort was also quite nice. The cocktails were THE BEST of any place we went during our trip to Hawaii and the food was tasty. I highly recommend the Mai Tai; I had at least one every day . To sum up, I would 100% return to this condo so I give it 5-stars across the board."

  • 10 days of relaxation

"I almost didn't write a review for fear of letting out a secret and making it tough to get a reservation next year. This is the second time we have stayed at Waipouli Beach Resort. It is a beautiful property, quiet and relaxing. Great for kids ( our first trip) and adults this time. The unit we stayed in had everything we could have asked for. I may be partial but I think it is the best unit on the property. All rooms open on to you private lanaiwith the ocean right in front of you. Because no other unit adjoin you the lawn in front is only used by you. It is located next to Oasis Lounge which is a very nice resturant. If I was going to be critical of anything it woud be one room with twin beds which was not really a problem for my brother and his wife and the walk from the parking lot. That is being pretty nit picky. If you haven't been to Kauai you are in for a treat. We can hardly wait to get back and hopwefully in the same unit."

  • Perfect Romantic Getaway

"My husband and I stayed here while celebrating our 25th Wedding anniversary. This condo exceeded our expectations and we were extremely satisfied. Anything and everything you might need is tucked away for your use. Beach chairs, bug spray, sun tan lotion, sun burn relief etc.. The fresh fruit basket that was left for us was such a pleasant surprise, and so delicious. The nice soaps, shampoos, fluffy linens - it's all first class. The condo is furnished with lovely décor and very relaxing. This condo is conveniently located near many attractions, make sure you get a rental car. We are so in love with this place and will most definitely stay here again. Thank you Woodie and Karen for sharing your lovely home. Your condo has far surpassed any 5 star hotel that we have ever stayed at. We will never stay anywhere else!"

  • Great condo in a great location!

"This was our second visit to Gary's Pono Kai condo and hopefully won't be the last. The location is one of the best in the complex- 3rd floor corner unit right on the water. The condo itself is very clean, spacious and bright with a kitchen set up with high quality equipment for any cooking one might wish to do. Staying a month this time we took advantage of that and enjoyed many meals on the scenic lanai watching the moon rise over the water. The complex offers many amenities including a pool snd tennis. The beach out front is suitable for swimming and snorkeling and the condo is right on a 7 mile waterfront walkway (bike rental available next door). Being right in the middle of Old Kapa'a, dining, shopping and groceries are all within a few blocks. Gary, the owner, is great to work with and has a local to handle any questions/problems that may arise. All in all, this is a great condo which we highly recommend!"
