  • Peaceful place

"I found this property to be perfect for my little family and I. The host was very welcoming and warm and provides a well appointed suite....literally everything you need form coffee machine to snorkels. The location is very peaceful which is exactly what we wanted and the welcome fruit basket is a fantastic touch (possibly the best pineapple we've ever had). We would definitely stay again."

  • Fabulous Beach House For A Group Vacation

"Our group of six had a great time at this property, and all agreed that, in all our many trips to Kauai (for some spanning over 30 years), it was our favorite accommodation. With four bedrooms and three bathrooms, I think the property works best for a group of between five and eight. The pictures do not capture how stunningly beautiful the view of the beach is from the large dining table, living room and deck – all are great gathering places and, at this time of year, also wonderful for whale viewing. The kitchen has all you need to prepare group meals, and there is a barbecue on the deck for preparing the usually available local fresh fish (best place for fish continues to be the Fish Express in Lihue). As with many (most) beach houses, upkeep and fix-it availability are key issues when considering a rental. Roger Lasky, who has been the caretaker for this property for the past seven years, lives within ten minutes of the property and was very responsive and capable in assisting us with minor fix-up details. He’s a great guy and also a good source of information about local resources and things to do. Anahola Beach where the property is a half-a-mile sandy beach on a nice bay that, depending on conditions, can be good for swimming, boogie-boarding, kayaking, paddle boarding or other water activities. The houses along the beach appear to be equally occupied by residents and vacation renters. We found people to be friendly, and the remarkable little beach dog, Sardine, who lives next door, the friendliest of all (Sardine of Anahola has a well-deserved local rep for being friendly & has her own Facebook page). Away from the beach, the rest of the small town is working-class residents. For provisioning or restaurants, you should probably plan on making the 5-10 minute drive into Kapaa. Many thanks again to the owner and Mr. Lasky for a great vacation experience."

  • Perfect place to stay

"We (family of 6 with 2 adult children) stayed at the villa for 10 days and this was as a dream come true! Kauai is a wonderful place on earth and the villa and its location are spectacular, the pictures give a good imagination, but it is even better - the true paradise! The villa is very well kept and extraordinary tasteful decorated, including very confy beds - an unusual vacation home. The cove is great for swimming and snorkeling and well protected from the currents, that could be very strong on other beaches. However, one have to be carefull with the corals, who sometetimes sharp corals and for surfing, you have to find an other beach. The cove host lots of beautiful fish. Shopping is not to far away in Kapaa (we used Foodland, the supermarked offers local products an fresh fish of great quality). The place is perfect located to all interesting places on Kauai. We can highly recommend the Villa. If you go out for breakfast or dinner, try Hemingways cafe for breakfast, great place! For dinner the japanese restaurant Kintaro and the Hukilau Lanai for fish and Hawaiian food (bit more expensive but excellent). Blue Hawaiian helicopters did a great job in showing the beauty of the island, our boat tour to the Na Pali Coast with Kauai Sea tours on the katamaran " Lucky Lady" was great, too, both can be highly recommended. There is an unbelievable beauty on this islands nature. One lives with the light: getting up with sunrise and go to bed not to late after sunset, very relaxing, so do not expect too much nightlive, but this is something we did not miss at all. Comming from Germany with a time difference of 12 hours and a fight time all together of nearly 26 hours, unfortunately, Kauai and the secret cove villa can not be our yearly vacation place, But with captain Kirks starships "Enterprise" beaming technology opportunities it truly would be! Marion and family, Germany"

  • Best Vacation Spot on Kauai

"My husband and I just came back from 10 days in Craig and Shari's oceanfront condo on beautiful Kauai. We feel very fortunate to have located such an amazing place for a home base. To begin with, Craig and Shari are awesome people and very easy to work with. (Thank you!) Once you arrive, the first thing you will notice is that the resort is off the main highway yet easily accessible. The property is gated so parking is never a problem and the landscaping is impeccable. The interior of this unit is very nicely updated and was spotless when we arrived. If you like to eat in, the kitchen is well-stocked with all the utensils, dinnerware and cookware you could possibly need. We loved the king bed; very roomy and comfortable. The view of the waves from the lanai is lovely. If you've never been to Kauai and want to explore, the east shore where this property is located is a great place. Day trips to the north, south and west shores are easy. Be prepared for traffic at times. Kauai has only one main highway and it can get clogged in some places, but you're not there to speed around anyway. Relax and take it easy. You'll get where you're going all in good time. Also, remember that the beach in front of the property is not a private beach even though the resort is gated. There is public access via a nearby sidewalk but, in the entire 10 days we were there, we didn't observe a single rowdy or inappropriate person or group (and this was despite the fact we were there on the Fourth of July). Usually only a few families or couples who were not guests at the resort used the beach at one time. Also, there is cable television and unsecured Wi-Fi available but remember that you are in a remote location. Connections/service can be spotty. Just roll with it. You should be out and about exploring the island anyway! If you like snorkeling, we recommend nearby Lydgate Beach (great for beginners) and Anini Beach or Tunnels (intermediate spots to the north). Tunnels is a snorkeler's nirvana, by the way. Jaw-dropping. The whole island is just an amazing place for the vacation you've always dreamed of; and Craig and Shari's unit is the perfect place to call home while you're there."
