  • Just got back

"Most of the reviews are spot on for this unit. It is an older unit, but a fantastic location. The condo is well equipped with most everything that you could need. The condo does need an overhaul but it is more from the years and not so much from anything else. The bathroom door does not close, the owners are very difficult to contact, and the management on site is basically non existent. The pool is perfect, the grounds are gorgeous, the view to die for, and the location is easy to find. It was very warm when we were there, so air conditioning in the bedroom would have been a huge help, but for the cost we were able to manage. I will definitely stay in this complex again, but until this one condo has been upgraded I will look at others. This is a third floor unit without an elevator...be aware!"

  • Village Manor, Kapaa, Kauai

"We had a great time. The condo was very nice, clean, had everything we needed. More than enough room for 2 of us. It's a very quiet place (except for those stupid roosters at 4am hahahahahaha). We only saw a couple neighbors briefly, otherwise it was like we were by ourselves. We didn't have a need to contact the property managers for anything so I can't comment on that. Very convenient access to the main road around the island. We didn't use the water gear but it was nice that it was there. 1 suggestion for a "nice to have": we could've used a small cooler for day trips. It's not something you think of ahead of time or pack on a trip. Wasn't a big deal, tho. VRBO didn't really provide detailed directions to the condo. It wasn't too hard to find, especially since I'd looked online already. But we arrived after dark so it was just a little confusing. Also, I had to dig through emails to find the one that had the unit number. As I'm looking now at the contract agreement, I see it all there. Let me suggest making that stand out a bit more. Maybe bigger, bold text, a different color. That way when someone is fumbling around trying to find the directions & address, it will jump out at them. But it wasn't a big deal - we arrived and found the place just fine - and had no trouble finding the lockbox with the key. It was a convenient short walk to a couple grocery stores. One of the local kayaking outfitters is only about 100 yards away. And the beach is about the same. The public access to the beach isn't marked but easy to figure out. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a place to stay."

  • The Best Vacation Ever!!!!

"My husband and I had a fabulous time in your beautiful condo. The location and price can't be beat and we already want to reserve it for the same time next year, hopefully extending our visit for a full two weeks. After my morning coffee on the Lanai I would walk down to the most gorgeous beach I have ever seen, sit on the driftwood and watch the sand crabs dig. In the evening we would go for a long walk on the same beach and watch the sunset... The condo was so well equipped and comfortable. I love Lydgate state park, so we took the beach chairs and cooler from the condo and went there most days. My husband says that I am like a little kid who won't come out of the water!! I also checked out all of the pools and hot tubs which were clean and beautiful. We grilled steaks outside many times. I have to say that they could use a few more grills and at busy times they might have a line up! As for the bit of road noise....who cares? I am in Hawaii, everything was the best and the price was right... I left a boogie board for others to enjoy and some laundry soap under the sink. Take some peas or crumbs of bread to Lydgate and you will be swarmed by tropical fish in knee high water!:) Don't give the place to anyone else same time next year because we want it back !!"

  • Wonderful Jungle Paradise!

"My husband, my 1-year-old and myself stayed in Rick's hale for just over a week. We stayed in his larger accommodation, the one on the bottom floor, it fit us well, with my son sleeping on the couch. Rick was a great host, he was thoughtful, accommodating, incredibly knowledgable about the island and super quick to respond to my requests. The neighbourhood is beautiful and quiet. The property is gorgeous, all of the plants around you truly give you the feeling that you're in the jungle of Kauai--a magical place to be. The location is great too, far enough away from the highway, but close enough that restaurants, shopping and a beautiful beach are just a 10 minute drive away. It was a great location with a view of the mountains and waterfalls. The hale is clean, well-appointed and full of amenities. The bed is extremely comfortable and the kitchen had more than everything we needed. The satellite TV also came in handy, since we were rained in some afternoons and mornings. We will definitely check Rick's hale first when we come back to Kauai... There's no way we can stay away from Kauai."
