"My husband and I stayed at the cottage for nine days in August. We had the best time! The cottage is so comfortable and private. Holly and Rick were available whenever we needed them for questions or help with loading up the kayak that they have in the sport shack. Holly had fruit and macadamia nut cookies in a cute little basket prepared for us when we arrived and the most beautiful flowers in the cottage for us. She also provided candles for romantic dinners. My husband wanted to go, go, go the entire trip and Holly was also nice enough to leave the outdoor lights on for us when we'd roll in late some evenings after being out swimming, snorkeling, kayaking, and hiking since early in the morning. There are some ants here and there, but nothing we couldn't handle. There are mosquitoes outdoors, but I used a citrus type spray that was under the bathroom sink and it seemed to work for me and I tend to draw mosquitoes like crazy. My husband's favorite thing was the outdoor shower. I absolutely loved the geckos that come out at night. The outdoor hot tub is also so relaxing and enjoyable, especially late at night under the stars. We also slept with the windows behind the bed open every night so we could smell the pure air and hear the soft rain fall in the mornings. My husband has been unhappy since returning home and says he wants to return and smell the fresh air. I totally agree with him and we both can't wait to visit once again. Thank you Holly and Rick for making the little cottage so special. It was so perfect for us and we truly had an enjoyable and romantic vacation, which my husband and I were both in dire need of before another busy year of kids, school, and work. Mahalo! "We just spent 8 nights in F7. it was perfect for the 2 of us. Well-stocked kitchen, beach chairs, plenty of towels..... The condo is centrally located. It is perfect for day trips to the north. Supermarkets near by. Tropical Dreams ice cream is sinful. The owners were a delight to deal with. They let us check out a few hours late, when we realized our next condo (down south) had a 3 o'clock check in and we had a bunch of fridge/freezer stuff from Costco. We loved the laid-back style of the east and north. The south is much more touristy and crowded. Plantation Hale was very quiet and felt very safe. We never shared the pool with more than 1 or 2 others. Usually, we had it to ourselves. Once, when there was a family already in it, we just walked over to one of the other pools (there are 3) and it was empty. The beach is lovely to walk along at sunrise and sunset. We would not swim there due to the rocky shoreline. However, there is a state beach with guards 5 min north. It is beautiful. The bike path is a must. Coastal Cruisers rents bikes for 10/day. They open at 8am. I could go on and on. We had a fantastic time. 8 nights wasn't enough!"Guest: chris h. Date of Stay: June 2014 Review Submitted: July 9, 2014View listing
"My friends and I spend 2 nights at the Ohi'a Kai Cottage. The property is in a wonderful, central location and very easy to find for those who are not familiar with the area. Everything that we needed was furnished for us in the home. Restaurants and shops are within walking distance. Highly recommended!"Guest: Diana C.
