  • Convenient location!

"Great location, less than 15 minutes to the airport and convenient, equi-distant location in terms of other activities on the island. We didn't want to stay in Princeville because it would have been too far from Waimea Canyon, and we didn't want to stay in Poipu because it would have been too far from the North Shore...voila! Kailua Beach Resort. Room was a standard hotel room, clean, and had a fantastic view of the pool/palm trees/landscaping. Mini fridge came in handy. Beach is unswimmable (which we knew) and lots of little kids at the pool. If you are looking for a quiet resort experience and plan to stay on the grounds the whole time, then this would NOT be the place for you. However, if you just need a comfortable and convenient base camp (like we did), then it fits the bill perfectly. Resort had more amenities than I thought (gym, restaurants), but we didn't take advantage of them since we were always out doing other things. Actually, I take that back; we did have Happy Hour one day from 5-7pm at the lobby restaurant, Shutters. Quick drive to Walmart to pick up necessities (7 mins) as well as to Kapaa for awesome breakfast at Java Kai. Kapaa in general was such a cute town a little drive away - two favorite restaurants were Verde (fish tacos) and Hukilau Lanai (fresh, local, original food). All in all, this hotel room suited our needs well."

  • nice Kauai condo

"Aloha! This condo was very nice and a great place to relax in after touring the island. We found it very comfortable for 4 adults, especially with 2 full baths. The view of the grounds were beautiful with a short, lovely walk to the ocean. The rooms are a nice size and tastefully decorated with a large comfortable lanai. We enjoyed the pools, having BBQ's and using the very well contained kitchen. It was a bonus to be able to walk over to the resort restaurants and lounge especially on New Years! Jim was very helpful with our bookings which we appreciated very much. We would love to return someday. Mahalo!!"

  • Well equipped condo with great views

"This is a well equipped condo and is centrally located to all the island's attractions. Also an easy commute from the airport. There is a great view from the Lanai. It is vital that you rent a car for your stay. One of the pluses is that you have the use of the resort pool. There is air con in the bedroom and fans in both the living room and bedroom. Beach and bath towels supplied as are beach chairs and boogey board. The kitchen is well equipped. The beach is not a family swimming beach, but a strong swimmer can take a dip there. There is a motocross area nearby which can occasionally be noisy on the weekends. The nearest swimming beach is Lydgate Park where there is a walled area for swimming but no fish to see. For snorkling you need to go to the North or South coast. (I recommend Anini Beach)"

  • Simply splendid

"This was our first visit to Kauai but I can't imagine staying anyplace else in the future. The condo is exactly as advertised. Four of us shared the condo and had plenty of space. While we did not do much cooking, the kitchen was nicely appointed. The unit is separated from the Marriott hotel, but close enough to enjoy the amenities, plus there are plenty of dining and shopping (from souvenirs to necessities) within a short drive. I highly recommend this property."

Lihue Travel Tips

Lihue Vacation Rentals Provide Access to Kauai

When you stay at Lihue vacation rentals, you are staying in the county seat of the garden island. Served by Lihue Airport, the area is a great place to stay if you want the convenience of commerce with the opportunity to explore undisturbed nature. In town you'll find big-box retailers like Wal-Mart and Costco, making it easy to buy the things you forgot to pack. Day trips to the surrounding areas let you escape the bustle of the industrial center, and you can enjoy secluded white beaches, mountain trails, and river tours.

Lihue Beach Rentals Let You Live Like a Local

Why spend your time cramped in a hotel room at a crowded beach when you can enjoy the local life? With Lihue beach rentals, you get more space, multiple bedrooms, fully equipped kitchens, and all the amenities of home. Depending on the property, you can enjoy flat-panel TVs, DVD players, Jacuzzi tubs, private decks, balconies, and on-site washers and dryers. Vacation rentals make it easy to travel with families because kids can have a separate room. Enjoy grilling on the lanai while the kids take their morning naps. At night, consider a sunset sail or a dinner cruise.

Explore History With Kauai Travel

Through Kauai travel, you'll find many places to explore, including historical attractions. Lihue developed as a result of the sugar industry, and the island still hosts several operational plantations. You can tour the Kilohana plantation by horse-drawn carriage or the narrow gauge railroad installed for tourists before feasting at a traditional Hawaiian luau. In town you'll find the Kuaui Museum, a place filled with the rich cultural history of the island. If you're traveling with kids, plan a trip to one of the ancient Hawaiian temples in the nearby surrounding areas.
