  • Simply splendid

"This was our first visit to Kauai but I can't imagine staying anyplace else in the future. The condo is exactly as advertised. Four of us shared the condo and had plenty of space. While we did not do much cooking, the kitchen was nicely appointed. The unit is separated from the Marriott hotel, but close enough to enjoy the amenities, plus there are plenty of dining and shopping (from souvenirs to necessities) within a short drive. I highly recommend this property."

  • Our stay in Kauai

"We liked the condo a lot, very nicely equipped with a great location - close to everything and yet private and quiet enough. We did not want the feeling of staying in a huge commercialized resort and this was very much what we found. The pools at the other accommodations at the hotel were really nice, very nice to simply be able to walk over and use them. We even got a 10% discount in the hotel restaurants. The beach directly outside the condo and hotel is not swimmable but just next door on the shore is. But as other reviews state - there are so many other awesome beaches and sights that you really should go out and travel and see them rather than staying put. We toured the canyon, the north-shore at Haena was particularly beautiful. We found good food in the Poipu area as well as enjoying the simplicity of the Kilauea Fish Market near the Kilauea light-house. But next time we'd probably opt to buy steaks at Safeway and do some barbequeing. We had an unusual and exceptionally hot week in Kauai in early October. There are a/c units only in the bedrooms. Leaving them on with the doors open to the living rooms worked well enough to keep us comfortable. Unfortunately the clothes dryer isn't vented outside so we couldn't use it while we were there, instead we air-dryed our clothes on the lanai without a problem. The condo is very nice and we'd surely go back and rent again. We liked being on the second floor for privacy aspects. Parking was plentiful and convenient and the condo was quiet and tranquil especially sitting out on the lanai at night listening to the surf and sipping a glass of wine."

  • Great stay

"I returned yesterday from a marvelous vacation in Hawaii. I picked this area to stay in due to the location on the island and picked this room based on price. I was just looking for a place to sleep and didn't really care very much about any amenities. BUT the pictures on VRBO and trip advisor don't do Kauai Beach Resort justice (I was not expecting much). I was very pleasantly surprised, it is a very beautiful resort! And the room was more than just a place to sleep each night. The bed was very comfortable, the location in the resort couldn't be beat, nor could the view! View of the pool and a bit of the ocean. I have friends that also rented here through VRBO, but for an increased price and my view and room was much better. She even commented that they didn't have a play station in their room and my lanai view, size and table and chairs were better. (I didn't use the play station or even turn the tv on, but it was nice to have if needed). Everyone at the resort was super friendly. It is nice to have a resort that has pool/hot tub hours till 10pm, movies to watch, and music at night because Kauai tends to shut down after 8pm. The only complaint I have was that my cellular reception (and internet) wasn't good anywhere but on the lanai...so to talk on my phone, I had to go sit on the lanai and take in the beautiful view as I talked with people back home dealing with snow. There are worse problems to have! And the reception on every island was spotty. I disagree with the earlier peoples comment about kids- I think it's probably hit or miss if you are there when kids are. I think I saw maybe 10 kids the whole time I was there- 5 days...but I didn't just stay at the resort, I was gone most mornings by 9 and didn't usually return till 8 or 9pm. There's so much to see while on Kauai, I don't know why anyone would stay just at the resort. Thank you do much for sharing your little slice of heaven with me!"
