"We liked the condo a lot, very nicely equipped with a great location - close to everything and yet private and quiet enough. We did not want the feeling of staying in a huge commercialized resort and this was very much what we found. The pools at the other accommodations at the hotel were really nice, very nice to simply be able to walk over and use them. We even got a 10% discount in the hotel restaurants.
The beach directly outside the condo and hotel is not swimmable but just next door on the shore is. But as other reviews state - there are so many other awesome beaches and sights that you really should go out and travel and see them rather than staying put. We toured the canyon, the north-shore at Haena was particularly beautiful. We found good food in the Poipu area as well as enjoying the simplicity of the Kilauea Fish Market near the Kilauea light-house. But next time we'd probably opt to buy steaks at Safeway and do some barbequeing.
We had an unusual and exceptionally hot week in Kauai in early October. There are a/c units only in the bedrooms. Leaving them on with the doors open to the living rooms worked well enough to keep us comfortable. Unfortunately the clothes dryer isn't vented outside so we couldn't use it while we were there, instead we air-dryed our clothes on the lanai without a problem.
The condo is very nice and we'd surely go back and rent again. We liked being on the second floor for privacy aspects. Parking was plentiful and convenient and the condo was quiet and tranquil especially sitting out on the lanai at night listening to the surf and sipping a glass of wine."

"Our family recently stayed at this cliffside house in July. The location is less than five minutes from the Lihue airport but we never experienced air traffic noise. We walked to the elevator which is about 500 ft from the house and which takes you directly to the Marriott Beach Resort grounds. The beach here is one which is protected from the open ocean and which our boys (7,9, 9)loved playing in. Kayak rentals and even surf lessons can be set up from the beachside shop here. The home even has some boogie boards which they utilized extensively. Im not sure if its the time of year, but this was not a crystal clear beach but the sands were perfect, the pool service from the Beach Resort was prompt and the food and drinks were great. We even utilized the small cooler in the garage to bring our own drinks and snacks to the beach. All beaches are public including this one so many folks bring their own things.
This is a three level home with the main floor consisting of an open, one-level kitchen with a comfortable living room overlooking Kalapaki beach. This is an air conditioned home. Due to high electrical costs in Hawaii the owner does make a point to ask that utilization be reduced when the home is not occupied. I appreciate prevailing winds but I don't like to be hot, especially on vacation. This was a nice plus as many rentals are not air conditioned. The home was immaculately clean upon our arrival. Our three boys and niece had ample room to relax. The kitchen is well appointed with a large stainless steel refrigerator which we stocked with groceries from Costco which is less than 10 minutes away (has all the same things our Costco had plus a few regional foods). We only used the entertainment system in the living room which is equipped with a nice variety of electronic equipment including a Roku. The bedrooms are huge and each comes with their own full size balcony. You can host a dinner party in each of the master bathrooms.
Other perks are the full sized washer and dryer and the outdoor shower.
Improvements that can be made include placing a regular bed in the loft bedroom off the main floor. This currently has pull out couch which was left in bed mode the entire time and which has little use as a couch.
We will plan on returning to this home which has a great location, incredible views and offers modern, clean luxury in a 2800 sq three level layout with AC!"

"Our family of four spent 9 nights at this condo and we have to say it was the best Hawaii experience we have encountered as a family. While Kauai has a lot of activities to enjoy, we just found ourselves wanting to stay close to the Condo and the adjoining Aqua resort, because it was so darn relaxing. The Condo was tastefully decorated, nicely updated, and well equipped. More importantly to our family, the ocean views and sounds made for a spectacular experience.
Kauai can be very busy during the summer months, but we never found the Kauai Beach Villas to be crowded. Matter in fact, we looked forward to returning to the resort every time we left it for an outing. What my wife and I enjoyed the most was waking up to a different beautiful sunrise every morning and then walking miles north on the beach, barely encountering any souls. I do not believe that you can encounter an experience like this in any of the major islands of Hawaii. The beach near the villas is not a swimming beach, but it is beach that allows you to get your feet wet and walk for miles, forgetting where you came from.
If you love seafood and want to enjoy a beautiful ocean view while eating dinner, we would suggest that you purchase the freshly caught pacific fish at The Fish Express in Lihue (just a few miles way), BBQ it at the villas, and enjoy. If you do not feel like cooking, the Naupaka Terrace Restaurant at the Kauai Beach Resort has excellent food at reasonable resort prices. For lunch we found ourselves walking over to the resort and having a good meal at the Driftwood Bar & Grill, plus they give a 10% discount for staying at the Villas.
In addition to an excellent stay, we enjoyed working with Chad and would defiantly work with Hawaii Beach Home Rentals on our future Hawaii vacations."

"Let's see, what did we love about this place? Everything. Lovely pools and hot tub, view of the pools and of the beach from the nice lanai. The beach was one of a kind. Because of the reef you could wade out in the ocean some distance without any worries of getting washed out to sea, and the beach is so beautiful, and never was crowded, in fact we walked up north on the beach for a mile or two and saw only 3 other peolpe. Very beautiful. There was a great selection of movies to watch although we did not make time for movies on this trip. The room has a good strong air conditioner, comfy bed, luxurious pillows, and is so clean!! (found out this place use to be the Hilton by the way) The resort is in a perfect location where there are no noisy roads or businesses in the vicinity. Once a week they have a hawaiian band come and perform down by the pools, and that was one of the highlights of the whole vacation. The owner bends over backwards to make sure everything is perfect, and the price was delightfully low too. My only complaint is that we couldn't stay longer."
