  • Luxury in a beautiful location with spectacular views and many amenities.

"My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this modern and simply elegant villa on the cliffs of Kalapaki Bay. We were looking for a well appointed and comfortable setting to simply relax and soak in the ambiance of Kauai. We both felt extremely fortunate to have found this property. The views were spectacular from the room and the balcony. The expanse of glass wall that let to the balcony brought the beautiful views into the room. We spent every morning drinking coffee on the balcony and watching the early risers stroll Kalapaki beach and paddle board on the bay - we even tried the paddle boards ourselves - super easy and board rentals are right on the beach. The amenities at the nearby Marriott report were wonderful. We used our access to the pool and workout facilities daily. It's a very short walk to the Marriott - we had the best of both worlds (access to the resort and the romantic privacy of this property overlooking the entire bay). My wife and I both thought the location was excellent because we had easy drive access to the North, South and West sides of the island. We explored several beaches (including around Poipu), but we thought Kalapaki beach was the nicest (nice sandy beach and calm waters in the bay). Great access to a number of nice restaurants (again - all within an easy 5 - 10 minute walk). The property itself was beautiful. Bright, airy and modernly elegant. Access to a washer and dryer was really helpful as we were there 10 days. Andrea was very helpful giving us a feel for the island and places to go for sightseeing and food. Most beautiful vacation that my wife and I have ever had. This property was a primary reason that we enjoyed our trip so much. We will definitely be back!"

"I would first like to say thank you dawn for making such a place available and at such a reasonable price.staying at dawn cottage is like living in your own tropical paradise.everything you could possibly need is provided.you can get to everywhere on the island in just about an hour, but coming back to the cottage and hot tub is the best. each night we returned dawn had the tiki torches lit for us it was like our own little paradise.we hiked the canyon toured the napali coast by boat and loved coming back to dawn cottage. we cannot recommend this property highly enough, you will not be disappointed.again thanks so much for everything dawn. phil and heather ps if you get a chance check out the boat house resturant"

  • Loved this lovely little cottage!

"This was our first trip to Kauai ( we stayed 8 days) and the cottage was the perfect choice for us. From the lovely gift basket waiting for us on our arrival to the amazingly well-stocked kitchen this place had it all!! This immaculately clean little gem is central to the whole island and convenient to all amenities ( amazing beaches, great dining choices, shopping, etc),but we especially enjoyed the "residential feel" the cottage offered ( and who wouldn't love the antics of all those free-ranging roosters and chickens!) We made good use of the washer and dryer provided as well as the barbeque. Since the harbor is fairly close you can expect to hear machinery working, but since we sleep with earplugs this was not a problem for us. The highlight of our trip was without question the 1 hour helicopter tour we did with Blue Hawaaian Helicopters with Scott as our pilot. Seeing this beautiful island from a bird's eye view is something you will never regret and since the entire trip is immortalized on a CD we can revisit those memories again and again. We would come back in a heartbeat and stay again at "our" lovely little Kauai cottage."

  • Great Stay, Great Value

"Let me start with where we stayed and then why only four stars. He has two properties and we opted for the hotel and not the condo. The reason not 5 stars was because the Four Seasons or the Ritz would be 5 stars, this is an excellent resort though. Your vacation will be what you make it, so I won't tell you how to spend your time and will only talk about the property. Third, this is an incredible value for what you get. I can honestly say you won't find any better accommodations for these prices...... I looked long and hard. It's clean, open, well manicured, and friendly attentive staff. There are 4 pools, I think, and a tropical waterfall in it along with a pool bar. We spent very little time on premise during the day, we left around 6:30 most mornings and found ourselves getting home around 8:30 every night, so I can't speak about lunch. Morning you have 2 options at the hotel, full sit down breakfast with options for menu or buffet. You're going to pay $40 no matter what for 2 adults. It's good, variety of options, fresh and you will find some, if not many, things you like. The other option is coffee and muffin for $6 in the gift shop. This was our option most days as we were on the go, plus we are not the type to eat a 4 course meal for breakfast usually. Dinner options are semi formal dining or bar food. We had both, and the bar food was good, again, above average. The semi formal dining was terrible and fantastic at the same time. My dish was overcooked and really just not good, however my wife's was incredible. Maybe the best plate we had all trip. My advice is order something you like, don't ask the wait staff for recommendations. All that being said, my one dish was the ONLY bad experience I had and it was very easily overlooked. The drinks are poured well, all the bartenders mix drinks the way they should be. They don't water it down or skimp on you. The rooms are clean and kept cool. As you can tell we only use the rooms to sleep and shower in, so all that was perfect. Clean sheets, beds with a plethora of pillows, showers, towels, balcony with chairs and a view of the ocean, and a desk. Everything you need plus some. Nothing old and busted. Really couldn't ask for more. There is beach access to walk along the beach if you like, otherwise Kauai is the most beautiful island of the chain and thank goodness there are no big cities and few people on the island. Enjoy the stay, relax and have fun!"
