"Hi Ric, Thinking of you and your wonderful place in Kauai. It may sound cliche, and I am sure you have heard it before, but we will never forget our time at your wonderful cottage on Annini Beach. As a matter of fact we can’t wait to go back again! The cottage itself was so beautiful and relaxing to be in. It was truly the best honeymoon/anniversary we could ever have imagined. Actually, we never really could imagine it would be so magical and beautiful. Pictures and words could never describe the beauty and peace we experienced there. We were pretty much speechless the first few days. We would start and end our days with a swim across the street and we spent most of our time in the water and wandering around looking at the incredible plants and birds. Eric did a little surfing and I went out on a SUP at the incredible Hanalei Bay. We did lots of swimming and snorkeling, and just floating about... thank you for the gear! We ate better than we do in Santa Barbara, man the food on that island is incredible! And everyone we met was beyond kind and welcoming. I will never be able to thank you enough for all that you did for us but I did want to offer up my support in any way possible with testimonials/ reviews or something I haven’t thought of. Thank you again! MJ"

  • A Charming Cottage right on the Beach

"If Marlon Brando were still alive and just picked up a new bride, this is where he would come. The view out the back is nothing but lawn, trees and ocean. The pace is romantic, ideal, and the neighborhood is very quiet - especially compared to any rental available in Hanalei. Over perhaps ten years we've stayed here multiple times during various times of year and the we've always had the blues on the day we need to leave. It's the greatest. The property is also extremely well managed, very well stocked and clean as a bean. And, should you require any form of assistance, the property manager is just down the road and extremely responsive. There's a reason why this spot gets booked up early."

  • Little Tahiti!

"We really enjoy our stay at the Fortune Cottage. The ocean views are fantastic and the home is comfortable and easy to keep up. The outdoor shower is a real pleasure and fun to experience! The master bedroom has a very comfortable king size bed. The middle bedroom would be ideal for a small child, as there are two twin beds there. Nearby grocery shopping and restaurants are an added plus. We will return!"

  • We Should All Live Like This All the Time...

"I can't pay this home a better compliment than by saying this: If my family were to be the sort that would own a vacation home, this would be the home we would want. We stayed at this home for a full week and couldn't have been happier. First of all, the location -- right across from Anini Beach -- is stellar. Each morning, our family woke up by snorkeling at this gem of a secluded beach. While it's not private it is certainly not crowded and the snorkeling was excellent. And then to return to breakfasts out on the lanai every morning... heaven. The kitchen is well-appointed, with everything you need to make your own meals. We spent evenings lazily reading together in the "great room," and then each portion of our family retreated to our well-appointed bedrooms. The setup seemed made for our family, actually. Two young daughters slept in the bedroom with twin beds while their parents took the bedroom on that same side of the house; the matriarch of the family had privacy in her bedroom/bath on the other side of the house. Keep in mind the back yard is a huge bonus as well, usually populated with island-appropriate roosters and a neighbor's cat. If you are planning any excursions with the Princeville Ranch, or planning to tour the Botanical Gardens (both of which we also highly recommend), this property is ideally located. One note for those of you who come from more humid climates and who may be used to air conditioning in warm weather: You will not need A/C here. Between the trade winds (captured through every window's louvers) and the ceiling fans in every room, this property was completely comfortable 24/7 in August. This property's manager was very understanding when we asked questions about this issue, and we now know from experience: You do not need air conditioning on Kauai... at least when you're staying at a property as considerately built as this one. We're already dreaming about coming back someday."
