  • The perfect family reunion.

"Our vacation at Hale Pulelehu'a was nothing short of perfect, Bill has thought of everything. We look forward to visiting again in the not-too-distant future!"

  • Great spot on the north side of island

"We were very happy with our stay at Barefoot Hideaway. The house was very clean and had just about everything that you would need. The location is beautiful and lush. We appreciated it because it was away from the fuss of resorts and other issues that come with crowds of tourists. We had been warned thru other travel guides that the beaches nearby would be packed and difficult to find parking - we on the other hand found parking in every beach and wonderful places to relax and snorkel. We loved Kauai! One of the only things that we thought would be awesome to have here were bikes! It would have been great to take off in the morning for a ride down to Ke'e beach. Thanks for the great place. We will recommend it to others."

  • Incredible slice of ocean front

"Makana Akua is a wonderful place to spend your well earned vacation. The home is beautifully furnished and decorated and very well stocked. You can see the ocean from the kitchen, living room, and bedroom, but you can't see into the home from the beach which makes it completely private. We walked down the beach most mornings to look for shells or snorkel at tunnels beach. There is even a shaved ice stand at the state beach that is within walking distance. The other direction down the beach is the Hanalei Colonial Resort and Mediterranean restaurant which serves delicious meals. The road in front of the house is a nice road for early morning walks or runs. It is a beautifully scenic approximately three mile windy stretch of road to the trailhead of the Napali Coast trail. Makana Akua is just far enough away from Hanalei Bay to feel remote and peaceful, but still close enough to go to the grocery store, shop, or grab a meal. It was the perfect location and home for a relaxing vacation for a family of four. We loved it!"

  • Family Vacation was wonderful!

"This is our fifth visit at Hale Ono as we are family friends of the Hale Ono family. The trip was a lot of fun, adventure, surfing, barbequeing, hiking, snorkeling, and relaxing on the beach. Hale Ono is a private spot on the beach with tropical breezes and the sound of the ocean that is soothing to the soul. It is great for a family get together because there are so many activities that everone can enjoy from lounging to swimming in the refreshing pool. The home has everything you need and it is kept in very clean condition with all of the beach towels, sheets, etc. available upon arrival. The flowers and gardens are well kept with bananas on the banana tree. This last trip was special because I spent time with my family and it seemed that it was timeless. I did not want to go home and wanted to stay longer with my boyfriend because we were having such a relaxing time filled with laughter and stressfree activities. We can't wait to come back next time and hopefully we can stay longer. The memories here on the North Shore at Hale Ono are never to be forgotten. It is paradise on earth. Thank you and Mahalo. ."

Haena Travel Tips

Find Paradise With Haena Vacation Rentals

Haena vacation rentals are the accommodations to consider when you want a beautiful setting off the beaten path. Located on the northern part of the garden island of Kauai, Haena places you minutes from famous beaches. Lumahai Beach was the setting for South Pacific. Nearby Moloaa Bay and its beach provided the location for the pilot for Gilligan's Island. Other beaches in the area offering waterfront rental properties are Tunnels, Cannons, and Ke'e. From cottages to bungalows and from Mediterranean-style houses to condos, you can find a vacation rental with the space you need to enjoy your trip.

Relax at Haena Beach Rentals

When you stay at Haena beach rentals, you can enjoy sparkling blue water and mountains covered in tropical forests. Properties with lanais let you enjoy a quiet moment as the sun rises or sets. Some rentals include balconies with Jacuzzis or hot tubs. While many properties feature off-road privacy, you'll find modern amenities like TVs and WiFi. Hanalei Town, offering restaurants, shopping, and entertainment, is minutes away. Vacation rentals in Haena give you more space than you'd get at a hotel. Some properties have private access to the beach, which means you won't have to maneuver through a crowd to find a good place to enjoy the sand.

Kauai Travel Connects You to Nature

Kauai travel provides many opportunities to explore nature. Land lovers can enjoy the tropical setting by hiking, biking, or horseback riding. Trails like Kalalau Trail follow routes with ocean views. Waterfalls and serene pools provide beautiful places to pause for a moment of relaxation and rest. Kayaking, sailing, snorkeling, and diving bring you up close to Kauai's aquatic life, which can include dolphins and whales. Helicopter tours let you see the botanical settings from an aerial view.
