  • The Perfect Spot

"Rating Details: I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. I was very happy with the location. The vacation rental was spotless. The property manager was very helpful. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The pictures really don't tell the story of this house. The location is great for hanging around the north end and a one hour drive to things around the airport. Walk to the beach in 2 minutes and feel like you have a slice of heaven to yourself. The house was perfect with a full kitchen and lots of room for the family to be together and spread out. Three decks, two up, and one down make it great for sitting outside for all meals. The house was clean and ready on time. The memories will be with my family for the rest of our lives."

  • Can't wait to come back

"We loved our week in the Mermaid house and felt right at home. After a busy week of adventuring on the South/West side of the island we sunk right in to the cozy North. The beaches are amazing and we swam with the magical turtles every day whether it was at Tunnels or right out front at Haena Beach (which has AMAZING snorkeling when the waves calm themselves). Our kids (12 and 6) loved lounging on the couches and looking at all the treasures in the house. My youngest talked about Peggy as if they were long friends. If you are up for it a three hour ramble will take you to the foot of the Napali and back. Sunrise is the perfect time to do this so you can watch the surfers waking up and snaking out across the reefs to get to their morning waves. The local birds are more than happy to ensure you wake up in time to greet the sun :). We didn't go into town much so can't speak to the civilization in the area but the people we met on the beach were always so lovely and happy to share a story or two! We hiked the Napali Trail to the first beach then turned inland to find the waterfall. It was BEAUTIFUL. Our kids are seasoned backcountry hikers so managed very well but its a tougher trail with many stream crossings and challenging trail in places. We will definitely be back to this lovely home and island!"

  • King Hale Kauai

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was more than happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our group consisted of three persons from AU and four persons from US. The house and amenities were everything we hoped it would be and the area around the north side of the island was just pristine. Although it is a bit remote for travel, it is justifiable by the beauty and seclusion. We hiked; rode the catamaran around Na Pali Beach; toured the canyons; enjoyed the beach; enjoyed the scenery from the deck of the house and a cool evening with dinner prepared by Chef Megan....hated to leave."

  • peaceful and relaxing

"We had a really nice time in this comfortable home near a lovely beach. The snorkeling was great, and we were lucky to see a monk seal on the sand one day. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen well supplied. The location was convenient to Ke'e beach with great hiking, but a long drive to other sites of interest. We went to Hanalei Bay several times. The staff was helpful and easy to reach. One thing you should know is that there are wild roosters all over Kauai, and there was one living in the garden of Keiki Leo, crowing loudly for hours, starting at 4:30 AM. Some mornings were worse than others, but it woke all of us up every morning. I thought roosters crowed once at dawn then stopped-- I was wrong. they start before dawn, then keep crowing intermittently for hours, very loudly. I'm not sure what can be done about this issue, since there are so many roosters and they are protected, but if you are a light sleeper, I recommend bringing earplugs."
