"My fiance came to Kauai for a little decompressing time after a very stressful couple of months of work and this was the absolutely perfect location for us. From booking to check out Jacalyn and Jeff were absolutely fantastic to interact with. They make the check in process SO easy, and you don't have any confusion about where to go or what to do when you get there. We did not have any issues while we were there, however i did email the owners a couple of times with little questions (what could be recycled, that sort of thing) and they were very quick to respond. The check out process was super easy as well, and we had no stress about getting to the airport in time in the morning.
The house is exactly as pictured. The kitchen was incredibly well equipped - everything we needed to cook meals, barbecue, make blended cocktails, literally everything. We loved barbecuing on the downstairs patio and then taking our meal down to the beach for a picnic. They keep it immaculately clean so it was easy to find things
Location is perfect: you can walk to a couple of beaches (more depending on how ambitious you are), short drive into town, and remote enough that you don't feel the throngs of tourists around you at all times. We met a few neighbors on our walks, and they were all lovely and welcoming.
They also provide tons of amenities. There are guide books, menus for area restaurants, directions to nearby beaches, tons of extra towels, linens, toiletries, everything.
The down sides:
The bed is too comfortable and the sheets are way too soft. Seriously. We had all of these grand ambitions of waking up early enough to watch the sunrise but the bed sucked us back in and we couldn't leave. It was terrible.
The deck is too inviting. Again, we had all of these grand ideas about taking strolls through the caves nearby, watching the surfers, hanging out at Tunnels, going to town for dinner. But then we would sit outside and watch the birds, listen to the surf, have a glass of wine, have a little snack, and the next thing we knew we had spent like 2 hours in complete bliss on the patio. Beware.
It is incredibly hard to leave. We had a very real conversation the morning our plane left about whether or not we could find jobs on the island, and how long our savings would stretch to allow us to rent this house indefinitely. You wont want to leave and will seriously consider becoming a law breaker and squatting there until you get kicked out. IT'S THAT AWESOME."
