"We enjoyed our stay at the Tiki Hut very much. The property was clean and very comfortable. A nice welcome basket was waiting for us upon our arrival with starter supplies - wine, some home made bread, coffees and candies and the property was well stocked with all of the basic necessities. The property grounds are beautiful and offer a very relaxing place to spend an evening after exploring the island during the day. The owners are very friendly and the booking process was easy and smooth.
The parking is off to the side on a dirt road in front of the house and was fine. The only problem for us was that our car rental agency gave us a bigger car than we planned for and it was difficult to turn around on this side road. So, rent a smaller car if staying here.
A couple of suggestions for the owners- replace the ceiling fans! They are wobbly, squeaky and creaky and take a way from the relaxing vibe of the place. Luckily, there was also a stand up fan that we could use to keep the living room fan off. Also, the wifi is terrible. It is basically non-existent in the property expect for a few specific spots. Combined with the seclusion of the North Shore, I had no cell (ATT) or wifi signal at the property. Consider beefing up the signal to the rental.
Overall, we had a great time staying here and would stay here again."

"Our group (four adults and three kids) truly enjoyed our time at this home. The location is simply lovely- on a quiet street literally steps from a beautiful beach that was generally empty. There is nothing better than ending and beginning your day with a walk on a nearly vacant, warm beach. (We did find the beach too rough for kids to swim in but there were plenty of options not too far away). You felt the Kauai magic when you walked, barefoot, through the path to the beach!
The home itself was open, very clean and had all the amenities we could want- from a plethora of plates, dishes, towels etc. to snorkel gear. The home also had washer, dryer, and dishwasher.
We enjoyed being a bit out of town and away from the mainstream tourist spots. The sheer beauty of the North Shore is breathtaking and kept us close by! We usually drove into Hanalei during the day for supplies or Princeville (for snorkeling for the kids). We explored the botanical gardens nearby and the Na' Pali trail. We loved the spot so much we didn't make it further South than Kapaa during our trip, except to fly home. This is not the place to be in a hurry- driving is slow and there are numerous one-lane bridges that you have to cross between the home and Hanalei. (Again, this was not an issue for us at all).
The owner, Bill, is very nice to deal with and accommodating. I loved this spot so much I didn't want to leave and cannot wait to come back."

"We were a group of thirteen friends from church in Silicon Valley. From the moment we walked into this home we were in awe of the amazing views. It couldn't be any closer to the water, and every single room had a picture perfect view of the ocean. The house was roomy with plenty of beds and bathrooms and everything was clean and looked freshly painted. The beds were very comfortable and we all slept well listening to the waves at night. The deck steps go down to a beach with the most beautiful golden sand I've ever seen. We had to pull chairs from around the house to fit everyone around the dining room table, but cooking breakfast and dinner was easy and we routinely had over five people cooking at once. The neighborhood around the home is safe and beautiful to explore. Management was extremely responsive - we barbequed quite a bit so we ran out of gas: management brought more gas the same day! Every one of us would come back to this home!"

"This house is cool - and not just in the hip sense; there are wonderful breezes that come off the ocean in the back yard and refresh and cool the house as they flow through the louvered windows in every main room. The entrance is cool because of the grass parking area and the beautiful old Balinese style wooden gate. There's a shallow pool for cooling off but who needs it - the beach is 30 seconds away through a path in a hedge. There is reliable Wi-Fi (running 25 Mbps which is faster than at home), a big screen TV (we never used), a spa (which we never used), washer and dryer (which we used a lot). The location is terrific - quiet but close to the most popular beaches (the kids when there; I just stuck to my own "private" beach out back. Comfortable beds, starter stocks of TP, soap, shampoo, etc., Everything worked fine and here's the kicker: In the master bathroom was a photograph of the child Shirley Temple and Duke taken at Waikiki in 1935 by my father! I'm going to find the original and send it to the owners. OK, it's not immaculately and sterile like a slick Kaanapali condo; it's lived in making it comfortable and unique. I highly recommend this house for a short or longer stay and I'd ignore all the nitpicky stuff that others have written. Everything works just fine and we were delighted."
