  • Paradise in America's Paradise

"Two weeks was not enough in this lovely place, oh, and the house was great, too! For a large family, ages 10 to 70, there was something for everyone. The house, island magic on stilts sits surrounded by a tropical paradise and beside a gurgling river. A wrap-around porch afforded all-day lounging and reading and for more active types, the proximity to beaches, shopping and hiking venues was perfect. Our family of cooks made use of all the carefully stocked cuboards and top quality appliances. No small thing were the great beds that made even sleep time enjoyable. Thank you for a wonderful first-time-in-Hawaii experience. Signed, Spoiled Forever"

  • Perfect home and location for a group including kids to enjoy Hanalei

"Our family (4 adults, 2 children 5 and 10 years old) stayed at the Paulele House for 10 days in March, 2015 and had a great time. The house was beautiful, well maintained and well appointed with many amenities. And with two master bedrooms on the upper and lower stories of a structure connected to the main house by covered breezeways, it was well designed for a large group. The owners were fun to talk with, provided great advice and were very responsive to our questions and needs. Sitting and eating meals made using the nice barbeque (and local ingredients) on the front deck looking at the ocean in the front and tropical waterfalls in the mountains towards the back was delightful. Very convenient beach access to parts of Hanalei Bay, a truly beautiful spot, near lifeguards was great for children and aging surfers alike. Snorkeling along the North Shore was great. The town of Hanalei, which never changes, was a short walk from the house and provided plenty of good places to eat, coffee, treats and along with the two Farmer's markets per week in Hanalei all of the food shopping we needed. We are enthusiastically thinking about coming again."

  • Great experience!

"My wife and I went to Kauai on our honeymoon and stayed in the Coco Cabana cottage. It was very clean and was in a great location for our tastes. It was close enough to civilization (Hanalei) yet far enough to be secluded in nature. The beaches close by were very clean and uncrowded and snorkeling in Tunnels beach was awesome! Some mornings were rainy, which is common for the north side of the island, but it adds to the tropical feel. Beaches on the south and east side of the island where it was sunnier in the morning were only an hour away, so rain wasn't an issue. Remember to bring bug spray. The mosquitoes aren't overwhelming but being a tropical climate means they'll be around. Very pleased with our stay!"

  • peaceful and relaxing

"We had a really nice time in this comfortable home near a lovely beach. The snorkeling was great, and we were lucky to see a monk seal on the sand one day. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen well supplied. The location was convenient to Ke'e beach with great hiking, but a long drive to other sites of interest. We went to Hanalei Bay several times. The staff was helpful and easy to reach. One thing you should know is that there are wild roosters all over Kauai, and there was one living in the garden of Keiki Leo, crowing loudly for hours, starting at 4:30 AM. Some mornings were worse than others, but it woke all of us up every morning. I thought roosters crowed once at dawn then stopped-- I was wrong. they start before dawn, then keep crowing intermittently for hours, very loudly. I'm not sure what can be done about this issue, since there are so many roosters and they are protected, but if you are a light sleeper, I recommend bringing earplugs."
