  • Emaculate home that has it all!

"This was our 3rd time to Kauai with each stay on the North Shore. We had a larger group this time and this home fit us all perfectly. The home is fully updated, modern, and well taken care of. Everything was pristine and free of dust and dirt that you normally find in a lot of homes on the islands. The furniture was clean, not stained and comfortable to relax in. The kitchen was stocked with all the basics that you would need including a decent selection of spices and an extra fridge in the garage when you are overflowing from your Costco run. The garage also had buckets and sand toys for younger kids, sets of snorkeling gear, his & hers bikes, and half a dozen boogie boards. You can see a nice view of the mountains and the waterfalls cascading down them from the house or take a 5 minute walk down the street and watch the whales from the top of the cliff overlooking Queens bath (or hike down to Queens bath and enjoy a dip in the tidal pools.) The entire Princeville area is amazing. The beauty of this area and how relaxed it makes you feel is why we keep coming to Kauai. Less than a mile away (and easy walk) you have the St. Regis resort for spa treatments or to just enjoy a Mai Thai during sunsets on their Lanai overlooking the Hanalei bay. Or take a leisurely stroll on the walking path around the golf course to the Princeville shopping center where you can get your groceries at the Foodland (think Safeway or Albertsons.) In the same area is a public Library, mail center, a couple places to eat, some small shops, an Ace Hardware, and CJ's (a fancy sit-down to dinner restaurant.) Everything you need/want is a short walk, bike, or car ride away. I cannot not say enough about this property or the owner. I almost didn't want to write a review or say anything about this place for fear it will just bring more people and not leave any availability for me when I return! But John and his cleaning staff deserve it. They were wonderful! Easy to work with, quick responses, and bending over backwards to accommodate us, making sure our vacation was perfect. This is the only place we will come back to from now on."

  • Wonderful place to stay

"This is a great place to stay in Hanalei. The owners are kind and hospitable, the rental looks even nicer in person than the photos, and the location is great--just a couple of blocks to the beach or town. There is also a full kitchen, which cuts down on the cost of eating out. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!"

  • Shangi-la

"What a romantic, lush jungle hideaway! Cherril is a wonderful hostess–generous with information and not afraid to prod us to get up early enough to find parking at the Napali Coast trailhead. (Don't miss–the trailhead is only about 10 minutes' drive from the cottage.) The cottage is cozy with a broad lanai, well-appointed with dining table and chairs, and various seating and occasional tables. Sitting on the lanai, listening to the birds or a sudden tropical downpour is magical. The kitchen area is snug, but very functional. We dined in each evening. Or, rather, out–on the lanai. Speaking of out, the outdoor (quite private) shower is a treat. We didn't bother with the TV at all. Reading matter in the cottage was a pleasant surprise. Along with the usual romance and thrillers were books on Hawaiian history and natural history. We want to go back."

  • Perfect home and location for a group including kids to enjoy Hanalei

"Our family (4 adults, 2 children 5 and 10 years old) stayed at the Paulele House for 10 days in March, 2015 and had a great time. The house was beautiful, well maintained and well appointed with many amenities. And with two master bedrooms on the upper and lower stories of a structure connected to the main house by covered breezeways, it was well designed for a large group. The owners were fun to talk with, provided great advice and were very responsive to our questions and needs. Sitting and eating meals made using the nice barbeque (and local ingredients) on the front deck looking at the ocean in the front and tropical waterfalls in the mountains towards the back was delightful. Very convenient beach access to parts of Hanalei Bay, a truly beautiful spot, near lifeguards was great for children and aging surfers alike. Snorkeling along the North Shore was great. The town of Hanalei, which never changes, was a short walk from the house and provided plenty of good places to eat, coffee, treats and along with the two Farmer's markets per week in Hanalei all of the food shopping we needed. We are enthusiastically thinking about coming again."
