Our second stay, great place !
"We stayed here in 2011 and really liked the house and location so when we had a chance to come to Kauai this year we were lucky to stay at Ann's again. The house is great, easily sleeps 6 or 8, large kitchen and dining area and a great lanai and deck and is well stocked with beach toys. The location couldn't be better- short walk to the beach and Hanalei Town where you can find restaurants, some tourist type shopping and groceries all in walking distance. A very relaxed and comfortable place, we'll be back, again."

"My family stayed 8 nights and had a great time. With three teenagers, it's pretty important to have plenty to do. This location didn't disappoint. They were able to carry surf boards to the ocean, fish a little, SUP on river & get a little shopping done in Hanalei. My wife loved to get up early for the sun rises and walk down to the Hanalei Coffee Roasters.
As this was our first trip to Kauai, Lauren was extremely helpful with recommendations on guides for some of our excursions. The house was very clean and comfortable. It was exactly what we wanted."

"This is a two-story small house on the property of the main house. It is THE closest house to the famous Hanalei Beach pier. This was perfect for a novice surfer because the best beginner and intermediate waves (October) are immediately to the right of the pier and further out beyond the break.(The other quality waves are far far left on the other side of the bay). I carried my board from the house, through the yard to the beach and right there is the pier. BOOM!
Accomodations are nice, clean, stylish, and updated. Their is an a/c unit upstairs in the master which was essential.
Internet is hardwired. That's great for laptops there was no WiFi which isn't ideal for smart phone use. But our carrier reception was fine.
Noise: ALL of the houses on the single street that run parallel to the beach near the pier have mild road traffic noise from surfers driving to the public beach 2 lots over. However, not once did it disturb us while we were sleeping or trying to sleep. Why? Because most people don't surf at night or early in the morning. During the day? Who cares. We were never home! We were in the water, hiking, boating...anything but staying home inside. Once or twice we took a daytime nap and the wind in the palm fronds or a/c unit pleasantly drowns out most of the road noise.
Some nice features are an outdoor hot water shower and spigot near the front door to wash sand off your feet. Sounds simple but not all homes have this and it's realllllllllly nice. Ie, we'd come off the ocean and beach, quickly rinse down, and then hop in our Jeep to grab some lunch or groceries.
Town's infrastructure is about a 2 minute drive away. Nice.
The owners are very nice and responsive to our needs. The blender (making smoothies) was broken and they replaced it the same day we notified them. Our deposit was promptly refunded. Quality folks."

"We read all other reviews and agree that they capture what we too experienced. We would only add that Smoky was a perfect host! He left us with as much space and privacy as we wanted yet was always available to help or advise- and we got great advice.
This is in a great location and is well-supplied (eg kitchen). We were attracted to Hanalei by its beauty and somewhat more remote location and we found lots of places for adventure and exploration. We are hikers and swimmers and the setting is perfect for both."
