Lovely Cottage near the Heart of Hanalei.
"Though we've stayed in and around Hanalei on our many trips to Kauai, it was our first stay at this cottage. Located slightly past "downtown" and near the first single lane bridge that takes you to all the north shore beaches, it's tucked away just off a small street on the mauka side of the island. We found the cottage to be incredibly clean, bright and nicely updated. There's no A/C (as is typical) but plenty of airflow when you open windows and sliding doors. The upstairs lanai was a favorite spot for us to enjoy either breakfast or lunch outside and the king-size bed was quite comfortable. The house also has plenty of things for the beach: towels, mats, chairs, coolers, etc. I did find out the hard way after jumping into the shower that there was no bar soap provided. After a search of the house, my husband found some liquid hand soap in an upper kitchen cabinet which sufficed until we could purchase something better. Also, neither hair dryer was in working condition but after a call to the property manager, we purchased one and were reimbursed. We were also told later that bar soap would be provided for future guests (trust me, you'll appreciate this)."

"My husband and I just stayed at the Blue Anini Cottage for our honeymoon. I was very impressed. The most striking thing was how clean it was. Also spacious, nice bathroom/shower, and the bed was very comfortable. The lanai was a wonderful place to relax and enjoy a meal or drink. We were awakened by roosters most mornings, but they're everywhere so just prepare yourself and know that most of the time they take breaks! The location was perfect--close to both Princeville and Hanalei. The grill, beach accessories, coffee, and macadamia nuts that were provided were a nice treat. We would definitely stay here again. As far as things in the area that we enjoyed, we found the grocery store in Princeville good for most of the things we wanted. We ate at Bouchon's in Hanalei twice--casual atmosphere with beautiful mountain views and great sushi for much less than we paid elsewhere. We also found the Mai Tai's at Tahiti Nui in Hanalei to be the best (as advertised!)."

"We really enjoyed this VRBO house - the house itself was very lovely with wood floors, ceiling fans in every room and lots of beach toys (bikes, boggie boards). It is close to the main road but right by a single lane bridge (no speeding cars driving fast near house) and a short 3 block walk to a beach. The North Shore is a great quite place to enjoy & relax in Kauai - the best island in Hawaii."

"Diane and Mark shared their lovely, idyllic Hanalei beach home with us for five fabulous days and it was way more than I expected from the previous reviews and photo gallery posted. We were super close to town and the beach with charming vegetation and skies and waterfalls in the many varied windows in the upstairs apartment. Diane and Mark are both warm and charming, while giving you privacy if you want it or engaging you if you need anything or simply want to hang out. They are fabulous Hanalei hosts! I cannot wait to book another visit...hopefully for much longer next time!"
