Pros/cons to property
The property manager was more than helpful.
The vacation rental was very clean.
I was very happy with the location.
I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental.
Overall, I recommend this vacation rental.
Pros: -location- walk to so much! -AC in BRs. the upstairs gets very warm during the day -outdoor shower for post-beach cleanup -balcony great view for am coffee or pm cocktails Cons: -Parking! had to parallel park the van in the parking nook. Could NOT put 2 cars there if 2 families. -2nd floor bathroom has open shower so after using, anyone using the toilet has wet feet. had to put hand towels at either door for mats. -Moldy towels! they need to be replaced badly -outside gate needs a combo lock, not a key. One key provided and owners want gate locked at all times. Can't happen; all renters are not always together. Overall, a decent choice considering the location."

"We just got here and the cottage is great! It is cute and very comfortable. It is not totally updated with granite and such but if it was the price would go up and we couldn't stay as long. The a/c works great - there is a unit in each room that works with a remote. The main picture seen is the view off the lanai. They should add a picture of the lanai itself which is nice. There is a grill just down the stairs and a hose and shower to wash off. The unit is perfect for a small family. You have direct access to the beach and there is lots of grassy space for soccer or football. They have all kinds of stuff for water play - boogie boards and such. There is a super sweet kitty who lives on the property too. I think this side of the beach is best because there are some small waves. The area by the pier is totally flat.
The cottage itself has just about everything u might need - blender, coffee maker and grinder, flat screen, safe, lots of fans, kitchen gear and such. The only thing I did not find was a hairdryer. I was wondering how nice it would be since it is the best price right on the beach and I am not disappointed. I felt compelled to write the review since they do not list out all the detail on the listing. Great place."

"River Estate no ka oi (is the best)! I have been traveling to Kauai for over 12 years and River Estate is my home away from home. The setting is a tropical paradise and has a feeling of privacy and seclusion without feeling isolated. It is perfectly situated for easy access to beaches with some of the best snorkeling on the island as well as to Hanalei and Princeville if you feel the need to go to town (which you might not!). Guest House is spotlessly clean and has all the amenities you need to have a great vacation, and the property is spectacular. Mark's pride in his property is evident in the effort he takes to maintain everything perfectly! When you turn into the drive, you will leave your "everyday" life behind and feel the magic of the place. I have stayed at River Estate both by myself and with companions and Guest House would be comfortable for up to two couples or a family. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need, the lanai is a favorite spot, the bathrooms are great and there is nothing like being lulled to sleep by the river. Make sure you don't miss the Farmer's Markets (Saturday in Hanalei and Tuesday at Waipa) and stock up on fresh local fruit and try the Kauai Kunana goat cheese you won't be sorry! When you stay at River Estate you feel like a local and experience the real Hawaii. The pictures are beautiful, right? This is one time that the reality is even better than the pictures. As always, I'm barely back home and I'm already planning my next trip."

"My husband and I had a lovely stay at Micco's cottage! We loved watching the birds from the lanai, and listening to the rain which always stopped miraculously by the time we were ready to head to the beach. :) We also loved the close walk to Hanalei bay. We stayed for 2 weeks and our first week we used for hiking/Kalalau and exploring - this is a wonderful place for a home base if you're exploring the island! Our second week we took advantage of how close our cottage was to the ocean and surfed/swam the beautiful bay every day.
The cottage is simple but has all the amenities you need - we cooked many nights in the kitchenette. We had a few visitors (ants) but Micco dealt with it so quickly, there was someone by to begin dealing with the issue within 24 hours, and they were gone soon after. One can expect a visitor or two in a tropical climate! :)
I would very much recommend staying here. It was a perfect place for a relaxing, simple honeymoon, or a jump off point for surfing and adventure. Thanks for the great stay!!"
