  • Wonderful stay!

"We had a wonderful time at this property. Our travelling group included 3 adults and two teenagers. I am a very picky person when it comes to hotels, rental homes or apts. and have very high standards, wanting everything to be "just right" and "just so" especially on a week-long vacation rental. This house met all my expectations and standards (and those of my travelling group). Pete and Jimmy could not have been nicer in terms of answering questions and helping out with details of the stay. The home, without being ostentatious or over the top, is beautiful, and the land it sits on is even more beautiful. Every room in the house was very nicely and tastefully appointed. The kitchen was large and had every single gadget one would need for a week long stay, and all of very decent quality. Nothing in this house looked or felt cheap. The common areas were great. The house sits at the top of a bluff facing the ocean and mountain range, and from most everywhere one enjoys beautiful views of the mountains, the gardens below, or the ocean. I was concerned because the house does not have central AC, only unit ACs in the two master bedrooms. Pete assured me that with the location of the house, the windows, and the ways the winds blow in Kauai, this would not be a problem. It was my biggest worry, but he was right. I was very comfortable the entire time (as were my fellow travelers). The description of the property and pictures are all accurate, and Pete and Jimmy were a pleasure to deal with. I would only point out that the third bedroom is very small, and we felt, comfortable for one person. Our initial thought was that two adults would be in one of the masters, one adult in the other, and the teenagers in the third room. We decided to change it and the two teenagers shared one of the masters and one adult stayed in the small bedroom. This arrangement worked out very well. In addition to the house amentities, the property comes with four bicycles, really good snorkling equipment, beach chairs, a cooler and other beach stuff- all really good quality. The neighborhood is lovely and quiet and there is a little village about a mile down with a great pizza place (take out), a great fish market (to grill), and a great restaurant. Pete and Jimmy deserve a lot of credit for creating a set up that provides a really good experience to its customers. i would stay again in this house and recommend it highly to anyone considering a home rental in Kauai."

  • Four from DC

"We stayed at Hula Hale at the end of June with our daughter and son-in-law. The home is charming, fully stocked, and private. The location is lovely for walks and beach access. I read three books sitting on the large wrap-around deck. The drive to the small village of Hanalei is about 15-20 minutes. We had numerous adventures by helicopter, catamaran, and kayak - all readily available near Hula Hale, a paradise in paradise."

  • Beautiful Home and Location

"Rating Details: I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. I was very happy with the location. The vacation rental was spotless. The property manager was very helpful. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This home was magnificent. The design is beautiful and the location, overlooking a verdant mini-valley, is terrific, with lovely views across Hanalei Bay (partly obscured). The pool and hot tub are beautiful. However, because we had two kids with us (ages 12 and 10), I had concerns about the fact that it is a 30 foot drop from the infinity pool edge to the ground below. So we had to keep and eye on them more than usual. The house has A/C in the master suite only. We had unusually muggy/hot weather during our stay, so needed fans in the other bedrooms, which the property manager obtained for us promptly. The kitchen was great, except for the typically unreliable Viking refrigerator that leaked water from the bottom (the housekeeper said to leave a towel curled up there at all times), made loud noises and was difficult to open. Even the property management team could not figure out how to use the dvd player and related equipment on the main floor. They were able to explain how to use the XBox downstairs to play dvds. We loved the yoga studio in the house; we used it every day. The property management team was very responsive and professional. All said, the house was spectacular, and the views and location superb."

  • Lovely, clean, well maintained unit.

"This unit is everything advertised, and more than met our expectations. The unit was very clean and well maintained. The kitchen is fully stocked with quality utensils and updated appliances. The condo comes with beach chairs, towels, snorkel equipment, cooler, children's toys. The owner has taken particular care with the lanai to provide a private, beautiful space, and included a nice gas barbecue. The master bed is comfortable (didn't try the trundle bed). We were very pleased at how close it is to the Westin (nice restaurant) and Princeville Center. Other reviewers have mentioned the bathrooms and the couch could be updated, but at its rate, the unit is a terrific value. The trail to Anini beach is steep, can be slippery, and drops about 150 ft. We chose to drive to the beaches. But we're seniors. We would definitely stay here again."
