"My husband and I spent 2 nights there in April. We had a great time there. The apartment is perfect for us. It's clean, quiet and well-maintained. They have everything you can think about it. It's really spacious and comfortable. We love the view from the backyard. It's so peaceful! Conrad was gracious and helpful. The location is quiet and easily accessible to major attractions in North and East shores. We will definitely recommend this place to our friends and families. Thank you! Patti, please say hi to Bear for us. :)"Guest: luckyangel Date of Stay: April 2014 Review Submitted: May 1, 2014View listing
"We enjoyed our stay at Hale Kai Kalani on the North Shore of Kauai, returning to the island after 34 years! The house, itself, is very comfy with most all the necessities to feel "at home." We cooked most meals at the rental and found everything we needed to prepare our favorites. The view from the lanai is fantastic! The noise from the dirt road down to the beach is evident, but nothing that made us wish we had stayed somewhere else. The early morning "wake-up" call from the wild roosters was bothersome as we never did get to "sleep in," but I guess you trade that for the beauty of the location versus staying at a resort in one of the towns. However, you need to take this into consideration when thinking of how much relaxing you want to do because there is no escaping the chickens! We ate out very little, but would recommend the kulua pig sandwich at Bubba's in Hanalai. It was delicious! The sunset from Hanalai Beach is breathtaking and there's also a turn-out on the way there that is gorgeous at sunset if you're lucky enough to get a parking spot on the sharp curve in the road."Guest: Becky Date of Stay: April 2014 Review Submitted: April 19, 2014View listing
"The rental is a nice open plan house with a view of the ocean and the river valley. It is set on acreage in a residential area. It was very quiet and at night the stars were quite bright. We had several citrus trees on the property which contributed every morning orange juice which was lovely. We were there for three weeks and we became very familiar with all of the sites and adventures of the area which are many. My only compliant is that the towels and outdoor furniture cushions needed replacement. Other than that we enjoyed our stay at this rental."Guest: Grandma& Grandpa Date of Stay: January 2014 Review Submitted: February 1, 2014View listing
"We had a wonderful time at this property. Our travelling group included 3 adults and two teenagers. I am a very picky person when it comes to hotels, rental homes or apts. and have very high standards, wanting everything to be "just right" and "just so" especially on a week-long vacation rental. This house met all my expectations and standards (and those of my travelling group). Pete and Jimmy could not have been nicer in terms of answering questions and helping out with details of the stay. The home, without being ostentatious or over the top, is beautiful, and the land it sits on is even more beautiful. Every room in the house was very nicely and tastefully appointed. The kitchen was large and had every single gadget one would need for a week long stay, and all of very decent quality. Nothing in this house looked or felt cheap. The common areas were great. The house sits at the top of a bluff facing the ocean and mountain range, and from most everywhere one enjoys beautiful views of the mountains, the gardens below, or the ocean. I was concerned because the house does not have central AC, only unit ACs in the two master bedrooms. Pete assured me that with the location of the house, the windows, and the ways the winds blow in Kauai, this would not be a problem. It was my biggest worry, but he was right. I was very comfortable the entire time (as were my fellow travelers). The description of the property and pictures are all accurate, and Pete and Jimmy were a pleasure to deal with. I would only point out that the third bedroom is very small, and we felt, comfortable for one person. Our initial thought was that two adults would be in one of the masters, one adult in the other, and the teenagers in the third room. We decided to change it and the two teenagers shared one of the masters and one adult stayed in the small bedroom. This arrangement worked out very well. In addition to the house amentities, the property comes with four bicycles, really good snorkling equipment, beach chairs, a cooler and other beach stuff- all really good quality. The neighborhood is lovely and quiet and there is a little village about a mile down with a great pizza place (take out), a great fish market (to grill), and a great restaurant. Pete and Jimmy deserve a lot of credit for creating a set up that provides a really good experience to its customers. i would stay again in this house and recommend it highly to anyone considering a home rental in Kauai."Guest: RM Date of Stay: June 2014 Review Submitted: July 31, 2014View listing
