"I can't say enough about how amazing this house was. The views!!!! Being lulled to sleep each night with the gentle breeze and the sound of the ocean. Walking downstairs and being right on your own beach. Snorkeling, hot showers! Centrally located and close to everything. We had a wonderful time; I just wish I hadn't scheduled so many activities so we could have more time at this beautiful location!"

"My fiancée and I have traveled extensively. Moments after checking in, my fiancé thanked me for booking "the best vacation rental." Kauai is magical and Moloa'a Bay is no exception. Ocean views from the house are spectacular, particularly during sunrise, but the real lure of this house is it's unmatched character. The interior design is beautiful: entirely wooden architecture, vaulted ceilings, stained glass and unique detail one might categorize as 'retro,' only this house is the real deal. It is bright, airy and filled with the sound of the surf. We loved the seclusion. The house is situated amongst a cluster of homes at the end of a dirt road, 10 minutes from the main road, but the location is still conveniently 20 mins from Princeville/ Hanalei Bay in the north, as well as Kapa'a town in the east.
Our Kauai vacation consisted of three locations and this one was by far the best. We loved wandering on the beach and exploring beyond. I will add the owner was always available and helpful with questions I had about the property/surrounding area. I only wish the second floor were available for a group of friends to bring back!"

"We loved being at Gilligan's by Moloa'a Bay. The close location to the beach is wonderful. Though we’ve explored Moloa’a Bay many times, this week we found ourselves often at the reef on the north side of the bay rather than our usual place at the reef on the south side - both good, each one different. LOVED the outdoor shower and the solar hot water. The living space is so comfortable - light and airy with the tall ceiling. The kitchen is great - everything we need there for we two.
We really like being out of the main tourist zones, and Gilligan's is perfect - a relaxing walk to the beach - one of my favorite places on the planet. And be sure to go to nearby Larson's Beach as you might see some Monk seals. Explore any of the beaches on this magnificent northeast corner of Kauai - you won't be disappointed!
We’d love to visit Gilligan’s again sometime!"

"We were looking for a quiet place near a quiet beach...this place was perfect for us! Up in the trees, we were surrounded by the sound of waves and birds while enjoying this simple but lovely place. Initially it seemed tricky to find, but the directions are very accurate. We discovered it a joy to be in a place between both ends of the island; it was half and hour north to Hanalei or half and hour south to Kapaa...and only 2 miles to a delightful juice bar which serves a yummy breakfast burrito and fresh fruit!!! When staying around the rental, we were only a few minutes walk to the beach; there were very few people on the beach ever, and it was a great place to sun or do some light swimming near the reefs. There are no lifeguards, but there are public beaches nearby that have places for more serious swimming and snorkeling. The kitchen was simple but adequate...we did simple cooking and baking; no freezer, but the fridge had plenty of room for us. No grocery store close by, (we grabbed food when we were in the larger towns) but fruit and egg stands were in the neighborhood. The rainy evenings we watched DVDs. There were lovely hikes in the area. The rental has wonderful books with ideas about hikes, beaches, places to eat and visit. The owners are private people and gave us plenty of privacy. We really loved this place and will be back again."
