"The condo and week in Kauai surpassed all our expectations again. This was our 2nd visit to Kauai and the condo and we felt right at home. The place was just as we remembered. Noel and Erica were again extremely helpful along with the folks at Oceanfront who manage the place. The best restaurant on the island is still the "barbie on the balcony" as originally recommended to us by Noel and Erica. We fully enjoyed our daily routine of watching the fantastic sunsets over Bali Hai and a glass of wine and dinner under the star filled sky at night. This trip we did have some showers and enjoyed almost daily rainbows from the the balcony! The unit is very spacious, well appointed and tastefully decorated. The pictures really don't do the place justice and we were very glad to be back again in this very special place. We highly recommend this unit and location and we are looking forward to 3rd time we can get in touch with the owners and Oceanfront to arrange a return trip!"

  • Wonderful Visit!

"We stayed at this condo for 3 nights in June. It was great! We wished we had stayed longer. The condo itself was lovely - the furniture was in great shape. The king bed was super comfortable, and my kids thought the two twins were just fine. The bathrooms were spacious and very clean. The view from the patio is lovely. It was nice to sit out there and relax when we had returned from the beaches. The reservation process was easy. Tarek was very responsive to my email questions, and everything went without a problem. We even got to have late checkout since we were catching the 10:00 pm flight home. Thank you again for that, Tarek! We went down to the beach below the condo (Hideaways) on the day we got there. The steps are a little steep, but we managed. We saw others managing in flip flops, so it's really not that bad! This might have been the best snorkeling spot we saw - or second to Tunnels/Haena - we got right in the water and saw a ton of fish - even a couple of sharks (small - not scary). We didn't get a chance to go there again, and wish we had. There's always next time! Our kids also enjoyed splashing around there in the shallow, sandy part. Restaurants we liked - Kilauea Fish Market and the pizza from the gas station in the Princeville Center (near Foodland). We brought the pizza back to the condo and ate on the patio. Very easy, and tasty too! We also got take out tacos from Tropical Taco. The prices for food (grocery and restaurant) were more than at home, but I didn't find them excessive, particularly given the location! On our drive up to the North Shore, we also ate at a food truck in Kapaa that was one of the best meals we had the whole trip - Tacos al Pastor. Fabulous fish and shrimp tacos and burritos. Wow. All in all a wonderful visit! We hope to return in the not too distant future!!"

  • WOW

"This was the most fabulous, amazing, memorable, and perfect vacation we have ever had. The location of the penthouse couldn't be better. We were only a few minutes from Hanalei where there are plenty of dining options to choose from if you don't feel like cooking. If you do end up cooking in the condo, your options are endless. Every kitchen utensil you could dream of could be found in one of the drawers or cabinets. Even if you decide to make a few cocktails at home, there is an ice machine on the refrigerator door, and not to mention, a Margaritaville frozen drink blender on the counter (some restaurants don't even have one!). The view from BOTH (yes there are two!) lanais are out of this world. When you are watching the beautiful sunset from either one, if you look down, you can see people standing on the grass below trying to get as good of a view that you have. If sunsets aren't for you, perhaps you would like watching the sea turtles or surfers in the ocean with one of two binoculars or a telescope. The bedrooms are large and comfortable, as are both bathrooms. Who doesn't like a whirlpool tub or a giant shower with more than four shower heads? Talk about a vacation! You would spend a lot more money per night if you rented from a five star resort, most of which don't have a full kitchen or ocean view such as the 412 Penthouse. There are so many perks listed in the description of this rental, and every single one of them is accurate. The pictures don't do it justice; the Penthouse is straight out of a magazine. But what really made this the most wonderful experience we have ever had...are the owners, Dick and Eleanor. I have never rented from this caliber of people, and I'm sure I will never meet anyone as special as they are. The entire rental, from check-in to check-out to returning our deposit, was seamless. The organization and planning that they put into your experience at the 412 Penthouse is out of this world. It never felt like we were renting a condo for five days - it felt like we were staying in someone's home, always feeling their hospitality, generosity, and kindness with each waking moment, and knowing we were privileged guests to have the opportunity to spend our honeymoon on Kauai in their Penthouse. Dick and Eleanor made this vacation perfect for us. We are so grateful to have had the opportunity to stay in Penthouse 412, and cannot thank them enough. Dick and Eleanor, you are amazing people!!! xoxo"

Kauai travel received a sprinkle of luxury when Puu Poa vacation rentals hit the island. Puu Poa is a luxurious condominium resort with individual units that are rented out to vacationers to enjoy a sense of home while on vacation. The recently renovated condo resort offers units of a minimum of 1,800 square feet, which means you have space to fully spread out or house larger groups while still being comfortable. Each unit possesses two private bedrooms and two bathrooms, spacious rooms and private lanais. When you step outside of the Puu Poa unit, activities, dining and shopping await you. While on the property, spend a day at the resort pool, which is set on a cliff.

Puu Poa, Kauai Activities

Surfing and kite boarding are popular activities with the topical breezes that blow through the beach area. When activity time ends, you can return to your private condominium unit in Puu Poa rather than a hotel room.

Comfort on the Puu Poa Premises

Puu Poa has tennis courts, an oceanfront outdoor swimming pool and hot tub.
