  • Spectacular condo!

"What a fantastic condo! perched on a ocean front cliff side, this condo is perfectly located in Princeville, on the north shore on Kauai. the puu poa condo complex is a perfect location to center your trip to Kauai, and this condo is very likely the nicest unit in the complex. from the condo, you are within walking distance to the st regis, hideaway beach (directly beneath the condo complex), and puu poa beach. from the condo, you are literally only a few minutes drive from sea lodge beach and queen's bath, and only a short driving distance from the Princeville shopping center and Hanalei bay, and all the beaches and towns on the north shore of Kauai. the condo itself is exquisite--beautifully and luxuriously decorated and appointed with huge flat screen TV, blue ray DVD player, high end electronics, huge curving plush sectional living room sofa, beautiful living room area oriental rug, spectacular accent lighting throughout the condo, whirlpool bath and rain shower, fully stocked kitchen, granite kitchen counter tops, top of the line high efficiency washer and dryer, high speed wifi, lots of art and books, and all the beach amenities we could have wanted for our stay. the lanai deserves special mention--you are front row, center seat for the nightly miracle that is a Kauai sunset. for the heck of it, we toured an open house for a condo for sale within the puu poa complex early in our trip, and no question this unit was superior by a wide margin. a lot of thought and skill went into what must have been an extensive remodel of this condo at some point. the contoured walls and ceilings and recessed accent lighting are a fantastic design feature that really sets this unit apart from any place I've rented on VRBO. a special mention has to made of Zellie and Lloyd. they could not have been more accommodating and welcoming, from the opening email exchanges, to email interchanges while we were in Kauai, to the follow-up emails after our return home. really, really nice people who genuinely care about you and your time at their condo. I emailed once while at the condo about a small issue with the DVD (which I figured out later that night). Lloyd phoned literally minutes after the email to check on the issue, then sent an email to follow up our phone conversation. vacation rentals don't get any better than this!"

  • Great condo

"My wife an I rented condo in June 2014. Decorated beautifully in a Hawaiian theme. Kitchen appliances were all updated and very clean. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed except food. Master bedroom had king bed and was very comfortable to sleep on. 2nd. Bedroom had a queen size bed which was nice if you had another couple traveling with you. Both bathrooms were very clean . The hall closet was stocked with several fluffy white towels and towels to use at the pool. Very nice touch I thought. Tv was flat screen with cable. Internet service was very fast and easy to access. The living room had several books under tables for us to read, games to play for kids if you had kids. The condo faces the pool with the balcony facing the mountains. Can see ocean on the right. Waking up every morning and seeing a rainbow and waterfalls out the balcony was highlight of our trip. The swimming pool is huge and hot tub was always great. Grounds were very beautiful. I was very impressed with this condo and cannot say anything negative about it. No air, but the breeze was enough to keep us cool. Ceiling fans in each room and each bedroom had extra fans f you needed them. For us this was a great place to live for 2 weeks. Thanks to the owner"

  • Spacious, comfortable condo in great location

"We had 4 adults staying in this condo and it was perfect. It was clean, spacious, airy, and the air conditioning works great. The outdoor space was very nice to enjoy drinks and snacks after a long day of outdoor activities. Short drive to all the things to do in Hanalei. And dinner at the nearby St. Regis hotel Princeville was AMAZING. Owner is very responsive and pleasant. Beach towels are provided, you don't have to bring your own! Would love to stay here again. Only one car parking allowed, which worked for us since we rented just one car for the 4 of us. The condo is on the second floor and you have to take stairs to get up there (no elevator)."

  • An honest review

"My husband and I stayed here for 2 weeks in September 2014. We went through VRBO but had to actually book(pay) through Kauai Vacation Rentals and all communication from that point on was with them. For lack of space I will list the Pros and Cons: The Pros: Having condo keys at the car rental agency upon arrival, well stocked kitchen (could use some potholders), great Lanai's, cooler and ice packs for beach lunches, fantastic pool, cloth shopping bags (plastic bags are banned), lots of hangers, washer and dryer, plenty of towels, travel books to use. The Cons: No air conditioning, stained bedroom carpet (gross), stained bathtubs, no cleaning service during our 2 weeks stay, toilet paper that lasted only 1 week, broken beach chairs (we rented our own), jute area rug that killed your feet when you walked on it, not enough small fans, having to return the condo keys to Kauai Vacation rentals in Lihue (inconvenient). When we dropped the keys off we told them about the carpets, asked why they did not supply cleaning service, or enough supply of toilet paper. We were told they only give enough to start you out, that we didn't get cleaning service because we went through the owner but yet we had more communication with Kauai Vacation Rental than with the owners. Over all the place was OK but the location was great. However, when we return to visit the Island again we will choose a condo that has air conditioning as the ceiling fans were not enough for our liking. Tips: Grocery shopping will give you sticker shock, be prepared. Go to local farmers market, go early to the beaches because they get crowded quickly, try the Princeville Zipline (what a rush), tubing the old sugar flumes was great fun, see the Napali coast on a Zodiac for an awesome adventure, snorkel at Hideaway, Ka'a, Tunnels, and Poipu beaches (amazing), and hike the Nalalau Trail. Bottom line: You're in Hawaii... don't let the little things dictate how you enjoy you're vacation and learn to hang loose! Aloha!!!!"
