  • Excellent!

"We just came back yesterday after two weeks in this place. Everything was as advertised. When booking I had asked many Qs, and every answer turned to be 100% correct. Villa is very comfortable, very well designed, and very well appointed. Kitchen is excellent, all utensils are high quality, knifes are sharp and pots and skillets are high end. The top level is an artistic masterpiece. Very elegant, tastefully decorated, it is very difficult to make a picture that will give justice to it. But be warned - if you are sloppy with things or travel with little kids that do not respect property, it is probably not for you - the place is in the brand new condition. The management was very thorough, for example one of the blinds was misaligned, and we couldn't find a coffee grinder - somebody was in the apartment within two hours with a brand new coffee grinder and the blind was fixed. The midterm cleaning was very professional too (spotless!) We been to Maui and Oahu, and I must say that for my taste Kauai North Shore beats them combined! Uncrowded beaches, no parking issues (except at Haena State Park, but still we parked easily a bit further away - 5 min walk), very comfortable climate (yes it can suddenly rain for 5 minutes, and then it suddenly stops; but no need for AC neither in the villa, nor in the car), surfing is world class at Hanalei, restaurants for all tastes (we went to brunch at St.Regis, expensive, but recommended, and few times for casual lunch here and there). And after a tough and hard day :) at the beach it was very comfortable to come back to the villa."

  • Top Notch in every way!!

"This was a return trip for me after 30 years to Hanalei Bay. I had expectations of the beauty and amazing feeling you get at the resort. It is situated on a cliff that literally is breath taking. We rented both the main unit and the suite and the view from both units was incredible. Every morning you rise to a beautiful ocean view. We even lucked out with a rainbow. The Bettencourt's units are so tastefully decorated and equipped with every possible thing you would need on vacation. We cooked most of our meals at the condo since we were traveling with small children. We BBQ'd several times and it is very close to the unit. The most wonderful part was sitting on the lanai eating our meals in nature and enjoying the view. It was great to have the air conditioning but we loved having the windows opened and enjoying the beautiful breezes. The main pool is gorgeous and we spent a lot of time there. It was disappointing that the restaurant was not anywhere near opening (Fall 2014) as was indicated. I remember having some delightful outdoor meals there on my previous visit decades ago. It will be a great asset once they complete their restaurant. The resort is alive with tennis players and very nice people. I love that they have orchids on the trees. We went next door to the St. Regis for Sunday Brunch before we left on our flight and it was incredible but pricey. The views there are worth the trip up to their restaurant even if you do not eat. Make sure you go to the viewing area on the floor above the restaurant. It is spectacular!"

"Views from b-12 were really exceptional. What we liked was the GREAT views of the mountains AND good views of the ocean. We had an excellent view of the big mountain--wettest place on earth. Fun to watch the clouds come and go over its top. We really loved the way the lush mountains looked in the sun and varied with the time of day. You can get a better sea view from some other units but this one is good---about 60 degrees of sea view from your lanai and a very nice sea view from the kitchen. The unit is very private--we never drew the drapes. We VERY heartily recommend getting an upstairs unit with really good mountain views as well as some sea views. The unit is clean and very nicely furnished with tasteful and comfortable island furniture and neat island print fabrics. Furniture appears new and there are new maple floors. LOTS of windows, and they all open so you can have the breezes flowing through the unit all the time. A VERY nice touch is that there is a full wall of mirrors in the living room so you think the views are ALL around you. Kitchen is good and well stocked. Bathroom is small but adequate. Excellent shower. Very nice owner Leila. Good rental price. We will absolutely go back to this unit. THINGS TO DO: Lots of great beaches. We liked Lumahai. Ke'e and Tunnels are nice but crowded and it is hard to park there. The Tiki Bar in the Princeville Center is really fun--Mike is great. We also had an excellent lunch there. The Lighthouse and bird sanctuary are nearby-very interesting--volunteers are there to tell you about things and a good video running in the gift shop. There is a bistro on the way to the lighthouse in that has a great saimen bowls. Hanalei for browsing. Sit out on the bluff in front of the condos and watch and listen to the sea. Great place for a glass of wine (although our lanai was a great place for a glass of wine too!!!) We did the trek to the beach below the condo--a bit tough but well worth it,,,probably slippery when wet. Be careful. The North shore is very peaceful and we just hung out on beaches (we tried to see them all) and on our lanai. Lots of lovely vistas from the roads. Nice slow pace. Very relaxing. The Princeville Center has a very well stocked grocery store, which is handy. WiFi works. Parking is good. Very quiet--oh perhaps with the exception of the roosters, but they are really fun and add to the character. They are EVERYWHERE on the island."

  • Great Location...Spectacular view

"We enjoyed a wonderful stay at this unit which is superbly located in Princeville. Walking distance to two gorgeous beaches, with many more a short drive away. We liked being able to stroll to the St. Regis for a meal or for drinks. Hanalei is a charming little town with some great restaurants of its own. Within a half hour you can access all that nature and the beautiful North Shore has to offer. The unit itself is very comfortable and well-outfitted, including all the "beach toys". Big plus. If you are looking for amazing don't need to go anywhere. Just step on the back deck. And don't forget the camera! The owner, Bev, was very kind and helpful. Great stay."
