  • Honeymooning in Paradise

"The first night of our honeymoon was spent at Hanalei Bay Resort. The view of Hanalei Bay is spectacular from the private balcony. Mountains with flowing waterfalls and ocean waves. We watched our first sunset together as husband and wife. So romantic. The room was clean, furniture (King bed very comfortable) and fixtures were like new, and the little kitchenette was perfect. We made coffee each morning, sat on the balcony and just took in the view. So very peaceful. Included in the room were all the makings for a fun day at the beach (picnic basket, snorkeling gear, beach chairs, etc.). The staff was kind and helpful. Really nice and welcoming. Lots of activities going on daily for all ages. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and well kept. The pool is amazing! The owner of the condo is a gem. Such a sweetheart. Greatest lady. She was always available for any questions we had. She suggested places to visit, things to do, where to shop. VERY helpful! The grocery store, shops and restaurants near by were visited often by us. We recommend HBR to everyone we talk to about our stay on the Island. Recommendations would be Jo Jo's Shaved Ice Shack in Hanalei Bay.... we were there twice... gotta have it. Little Thai food place in the complex were Foodland is. Yummy. Rent a car (or jeep as we did) and drive north up the coast. Beautiful swimable beaches. Take a helicopter tour. Worth it! Go see the HBR concierge at the beginning of your stay, she/he will arrange all your activities. The pictures and description for this listing don't do justice. We can't wait to go back!"

  • Wow

"Stayed here for 5 nights and loved every minute of it - highly recommend this place. Stunning views, nice feel about the resort, and the condo has everything you would need. Short walk to the beach and beach bar of the Regis, I could have spent hours here if there was not so much to do on the island. The condo is really nicely decorated and has a great modern homely feel from books and DVDs and CDs to the most comfy outside lounges I have ever laid on. Pool area beautiful and we wiled away several hours in the sand bottomed spa with a red wine surrounded by tropical plants - bliss! Joyce was helpful the whole way through, and made it so easy for us to stay another night when we decided we couldn't leave! Only down points didn't really affect us at all. There is construction going on on site, but the condo is so far away you don't hear anything, and only see the odd thing down that end of the resort. Also the resort staff were not so friendly at the reception desk (the activities guy was sooo dismissive) but this is not a reflection of this condo - you can arrange everything yourself and after checkin there is no real reason to have anything do with the resort staff anyway. As an island Kauai is more than worth the visit - Na Pali coast walk, the Canyon, and Hanalei are highlights (and if you haven't taken a helicopter ride, do it!) - and now having been there, I don't think there's a question of which side of the island to stay on - this is it. I really hope I'll be back one day."

  • Wonderful Stay!

"Highly recommended! The pictures do not do the villa justice! Villa was clean and very spacious for 4 adults, both bedrooms were a good size and it was nice to have the 2 floors to accommodate our different schedules. Great kitchen, lots of beach towels and chairs were provided. Having laundry available was a bonus. Lovely view of the mountains, we really enjoyed sitting out and relaxing on the lanai. A great beach just next door in front of the St. Regis (voted the best place on the island to have a drink and watch the sunset) and a beautiful small and secluded beach right across the road (but down a steep trail.) There is a parking spot right out front. You will definitely want to rent a car to explore the island, as there are not many amenities besides the hotel and golf courses in easy walking distance. Hanalei Bay and Kilauea are both less than a 10 min drive away. There are so many lush and breathtaking beaches in the north shore--there is something that feels almost magical about the area. We had been warned that the north shore could be rainy in January, but we had great weather. We much preferred the rugged beauty of the north shore to the more developed south and east coasts. Our time here flew by and we are already to trying to plan when we can come back next!! Another bonus was the amazing movie collection! Lots of VHS, but sooo much selection--we loved it! We watched Jurassic Park since it was filmed in Kauai. Beautiful and well-maintained property, great value for money, great location for relaxing and exploring the north shore!"

  • Family vacation

"This is our third trip to the Cliffs condo. The location is our favorite. Your able to watch the sunset every night of your stay from the condo's lanai. The condo is always freshly clean and inviting. Everything you need is close by. I would highly recommend the Cliffs for your vacation stay in Kauai. We will definitely be staying there again, hopefully in the near future. We love it there."
