"I had the pleasure of staying at Hale Alealea earlier this month for a girls getaway, and it was fantastic! The house was spacious, light and airy, and it seemed always the perfect temperature. The kitchen was great. We brewed fresh coffee every morning and laid out an array of fresh tropical fruit for ourselves. Make sure you visit the nearby Waipa Farmers Market on Tuesdays. The fruit selection was incredible!
The lanai was the perfect place to relax and enjoy the front garden view and the "peekaboo" ocean view, and there is ample room. From there, we could gauge how calm the water was. There is very easy access to stroll along the sand as well as to venture out snorkeling. All we had to do was walk straight out the front yard and under the stilts of the property in front, and we were on the beach and ready to go.
There is a restaurant and an art gallery/cafe in walking distance, but we were drawn to nearby Sushigirl for the poke bowls and sushi rolls. So fresh and just a short drive away. And, there are plenty of other dining options and markets also just a short drive away.
All in all, it was a luxurious getaway. Very relaxing, spacious, and beautiful. It was my first time to Kauai, and I look forward to returning. I highly recommend this property!"

"This is really a nice cottage and a far, far cry from a condominium. The views from the living room are very wonderful, the place is quiet without annoying street lights, and it is very cozy. Visitors should know they must park on the road and walk down a short but steep driveway to the front door, that there is no dishwasher or window shades (the morning sun can come blasting through), and the 15 min. drive from town is dark and twisty at night. The waterfall photo was taken with a long telephoto lens, but it is really up there. Aerial views show a lot of nearby structures, but they are mainly shed roofs and are hardly visible from inside and not a problem."

"We love the Mermaid House! My husband and I and our kids (12, 9 and 7 yrs old) loved coming back to this cozy home after our days adventuring around the island. The layout was very comfortable and we felt we had more than enough room. The kitchen was well equipped and we enjoyed cooking almost all of our meals that week at home. (Great money saver!) Thank you for such a beautiful place to call home for our vacation."

"We just enjoyed our second vacation in the past 3 years at the Banana Beach house. After our first trip with friends, we loved the house and the location so much, that we decided to share the experience with our extended family. We enjoyed hiking the Napali Trail, golfing at Princeville, exploring Queen's Bath, and just relaxing on the beach and the lanai. The house is comfortable, and it allowed us quality family time: cooking and eating together.
The team at Kauai Island Vacations were great. Joanne helped arranged activities for our group that we all could enjoy. Don even helped deliver a forgotten item that we had shipped to his office from home. They strive to provide guests with the true Kauai experience.
We look forward to coming back to Kauai, and we will look to Joanne, Holly, and Don to help us."
