"From the moment we walked into Hale Makana, instant crush - we knew we had discovered a special place. The house sits on a stunning vista and its grounds are like a botanic garden. The pool and hot tub got huge thumbs up from our kids (who consider themselves experts on the subject!) and the house was spacious and comfortable. And as wonderful as the proptery is, Mary and her team are even better - charming, informative and wonderful in all respects. If only every vacation included such caring and welcoming stewards! Each night as we watched the sunset from the back yard we remarked on how fortunate we were to spend time at such a special place. We've travelled to Kauai numerous times and this property (and its caretakers) are far and away our favorite. Hale Makana was better than advertised and we can't wait to return. Thanks so much, Mary!"Guest: Matt Date of Stay: July 2014 Review Submitted: August 13, 2014View listing
"This unit is everything advertised, and more than met our expectations. The unit was very clean and well maintained. The kitchen is fully stocked with quality utensils and updated appliances. The condo comes with beach chairs, towels, snorkel equipment, cooler, children's toys. The owner has taken particular care with the lanai to provide a private, beautiful space, and included a nice gas barbecue. The master bed is comfortable (didn't try the trundle bed). We were very pleased at how close it is to the Westin (nice restaurant) and Princeville Center. Other reviewers have mentioned the bathrooms and the couch could be updated, but at its rate, the unit is a terrific value. The trail to Anini beach is steep, can be slippery, and drops about 150 ft. We chose to drive to the beaches. But we're seniors. We would definitely stay here again."Guest: John S. Date of Stay: May 2014 Review Submitted: July 24, 2014View listing
"We rented this house for a family vacation with 7 couples. The pictures don't do it justice. Rooms are large and well appointed. Owners thought of everything when building the house. Lots of beach gear, boogie boards, paddle boards, etc so we didn't need to rent anything. We ate dinners outside on the lawn with the tiki torches lit then went down and had a bonfire on the beach - amazing nights. The beach is so beautiful here that we took our family pictures with the house in the background! Greg and Joanne are awesome to work with. The best renting experience we've had in over a dozen trips to Hawaii."Guest: Chad Date of Stay: May 2014 Review Submitted: September 12, 2014View listing
