  • Great house and area

"We had a wonderful time in Poipu and shared this home with another family. We didn't have any phone usage or WiFi for the first 3 days of our holiday (there are sometimes outages in Kauai) and I had to contact Oceanic myself to get the WiFi sorted out (and book the technician as well). I had to use my cellphone to do all of this as well. It did eventually get resolved. The house is in good shape and was very roomy for all 8 of us (there are four bedrooms and four bathrooms). About 5 days before our holiday was over; 3 out of the 4 kitchen chair legs lost one of their wheels, making them unusable. We stored them in the garage and they were not repaired while we were in the house, but luckily; we had enough dining chair for our party. Christine was very helpful with giving me the information about Oceanic and our phone problems. The house is located in Poipu; which is a beautiful area; but it does take an hour and 45 minutes to drive to Hanalei (last year we stayed in Kapaa and it East; so everything is quicker to get to). However; we had a lovely holiday and I would definitely use VRBO again!"

  • Beach Proximity, Great Value

"This gets a 5 star review not because it is a 5 star accommodation, but because it is everything it says it is, with great location and price. A small studio (like a large hotel room) with a small(ish) bathroom, a full kitchen including all utensils, a sliding glass door out to a 2 person hot tub. Really only steps from the beach (you walk past 2 houses to get to Poipu Beach Park). All of your Poipu activities are close by. Brenneke's is a block away but you can't hear it at night. The Poipu shopping malls are about 1 or 1.5 miles away, which makes for a nice evening walk. No air conditioning, which is fine in the winter, but I wonder how it will be in summer. There were roosters crowing in the early morning two of our four nights, so if you're a very light sleeper this could get annoying. The space was perfect for two, and the location was excellent if you want to be right near the resorts but not pay the resort fees."

  • Still a Great Rental Home!

"We were back again for our 3rd visit within 3 years to Hale Huna. Yet again, it was a spectacular stay and well worth the repeat visit. Hale Huna was a very special place for our party of seven; the grounds were perfectly groomed and the house was breezy, comfortable and inviting. It was exactly the Hawaiian vacation we were craving. We took advantage of being just minutes from multiple beaches and rarely missed a colorful sunset. We even took in a few sunrises. All this was just a leisurely stroll from Hale Huna where we saw sea turtles and monk seals, as well as a variety of fish, birds and plant life too numerous to count. At Hale Huna, we often grilled outside or if no one felt like cooking we simply took in a number of the area’s nice restaurants. Poipu was an excellent launching point on Kauai, too. From a nearby marina, we took a catamaran sunset cruise of the Na Pali coast where we saw humpback whales and dolphins while taking in the stunning coastal views. Whether we were grabbing shave ice after venturing through the Waimea Canyon or touring the Na Pali coastline and seeing where they filmed Jurassic Park, it was nice to know we could be back to our home away from home in no time. We can’t wait to go back to Hale Huna!"
