  • Great home base on Kauai

"The grounds at Kiahuna are beautiful and well kept. Love the grass and the beach access. This unit is very comfortable and makes a great home base. With gates that were provided, this two story condo worked well for our family of six (including 1 1/2 year old plus five adults). The view from this unit, of lagoon, grass, and ocean, is beautiful. Both Kiahuna and Poipu Beach are centrally located with easy access to shopping and restaurants -- but the grounds give a feeling of seclusion. Nicely furnished unit with convenient washer and dryer plus access to the recently remodeled pool. Highly recommend this unit -- would definitely stay again."

  • perfect christmas in Kauai

"Our family enjoyed the most relaxing, fun filled time staying at Hale Poipu this past Christmas vacation. All 5 of us (my husband and I, three teenage boys) found plenty of opportunities to have fun together and alone. I am recovering from a broken foot, so access to the bikes was invaluable and made my 10 day stay so much fun. We cooked in most nights, hung out on the deck, enjoyed the trails, the beach, all of it. We have been to Kauai many times, but this was the best, due in large part to the house, all of its many amenities and proximity to everything we love to do on this magical Island. Help was always a quick phone call or email away. I would send my friends here in a heartbeat and I hope to be back myself!"

  • Loved Every Minute at Kiahuna

"Kiahuna Plantation is our favorite place to stay on Kauai and this condo is now our favorite unit! It sits between the lagoon and the Plantation House Restaurant garden. I wasn't sure I would like staying away from the main grass area where we've stayed before, but found we loved sitting on the lanai above the lagoon with a direct ocean view. The lanai table was pub height so the railing didn't interfere with the views. It's only a short walk to the main beach area and beach hut for towels and chairs. The kitchen has recently been remodeled and the whole upstairs is open and airy, as well as extremely well equipped. We noticed most of the units have plantation shutters on the windows and sliding doors, which obstruct some of the view. We liked that 208 has sliding, vertical rattan shades that pull completely to the sides allowing lots of light and full views. The living and dining room furniture is comfortable and the TVs have good reception (tip - one of the weekly guide magazines has the TV schedule). In addition, the beds are comfortable, there's good closet space and hangers and the unit has a washer/dryer, so no need to pack more than a carry-on's worth of clothes. Janet was very nice to work with and booking with her was a breeze. Check-in is at 3:00 or 4:00 PM, but our flight arrived at 9:30 AM, we picked up our care, stopped at Costco and the Big Save Market, just across the street, to stock up. We then hit the Saturday farmer's market at the community college, had lunch and arrived at Kiahuna around 2:00. Check-in was a breeze and the condo was ready and waiting. Be sure to take advantage of the morning concierge orientation on the restaurant lanai early in your stay. Lots of good information on things to do and see. But I would recommend checking prices online or in the local advertising booklets for activities you're interested in before booking with the concierge. We later found we would have saved almost $50 a person on the Napali coast rafting trip we took had we booked through the company's website. And one of the booklets had a coupon for the irrigation ditch tubing for less than we paid at their website....do your homework! We found that the units on either side are also rentals, so we're looking forward to planning a whole family trip sometime in the future!"

  • Great Location!!! Gorgeous!

"We stayed for a week in Gregg's condo and we loved the condo and the location! We found everything we needed in the condo (including a surf board) and thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We were within easy walking distance of the beach and our 2nd floor lanai had swaying palms over it and beautiful flowing lush greenery and flowering bushes to look out on while we enjoyed the trade winds and a cup of coffee! The beach is a short walk on a path through beautiful grounds, just around the corner from this condo! The sounds of the birds in the morning was simply incredible! The section of Poipu beach that fronts the beautiful grounds of Kiahuna Plantation is the best on the island and we spent a lot of time on all sides of the island checking out beaches! We stayed cool in this unit even when the trade winds subsided a couple days thanks to large efficient ceiling fans and the condo's louvers on all sides! Mahalo to the owners of this lovely unit at the Kiahuna Plantation! Many alohas for sharing it with us!"
