  • Big group, lots of fun

"We were a party of 10, 6 adults and 4 kids and the house worked great. The owner was nice enough to supply us with 2 portable cribs that fit well in the 2 master bedrooms and two of the twin beds were tethered to make a king in the other room. The location of the house was easy to get to and the accommodations were nice. With four kids, however, we did end up driving, instead of walking, to the beach most of the time; with the amount of stuff we packed to and from it was easier then walking. The house came stocked with several beach toys, chairs, umbrella, and other accessories which came in very handy. The constant breeze kept the house a good temperature, it would get a little warm in the afternoon but nothing a cold drink wouldn't cure. The patio area was great for the kids to be "outside" but still contained. The BBQ was a great addition which we used several times. I highly recommend the Torch Lighting at the Hyatt. I have been to 3 different Luau's and the entertainment at this free event was just as good as the $70 events. Be sure to get there early if you want a place to sit. And I would recommend splurging on the $15 mai tai's, we had some sticker shock but then ended up with seconds, they were very tasty. A couple of cons: the house could be located closer to the pool/beach. This wouldn't have been a problem if the kids were older but being 1 and 4 it was a little far to walk while carrying everything. Also the beach within walking distance was not the best for young children and with the higher winds we had while there the water was pretty rough. The bathrooms in the master bedrooms need a little updating, the shower heads were small and did not have the best water pressure. Overall, for the price, we could not have asked for a better place. The owners were great and willing to help with any request."

  • Wedding Party Nov 2014

"My daughter was married on Shipwreck Beach. The parents of the bride and groom plus the siblings shared this home. The home was convenient to the beaches, hotels, and shopping. We have never seen a better equipped home. We used all of the beach equipment available as well as the bikes. We had no time for movies or games but there were plenty to choose from. The kitchen was fantastic - ate most of our meals there. Jim and Juliana were most helpful in all of our planning and delightful folks."

  • We LOVED our stay at Sansei Hale.

"Thank you so much for sharing your home with us, we absolutely loved it. It was a wonderful sanctuary, so quiet and serene. Your home is so comfortable, quiet and beautiful and we loved the history behind it as well. The pictures you post of the home are nice but can't capture the pure luxury of the home and it's furnishings. We loved sleeping with the windows open so we could hear the stream bubbling by, the Palm trees swaying and the birds singing in the trees. I will tell everyone I know planning a trip to Kauai about your home.. Thanks again. Aloha."

  • Third visit in three years

"I'm beginning to feel at home at this place! We were very appreciative of the upgrades since last year, especially the serious pruning of the plants in and around the lanai. It made the use of that wonderful space so much more enjoyable. Unfortunately, the new pads for the chairs were not so good. Folded towels worked better. Nice to see that some beach chairs we bought last year were still there! This home is a relative bargain in a wonderful neighborhood of fancier and higher priced rentals. Lawai Beach Road is great spot for runners and walkers with great destinations in either direction."
