  • Wonderful Experience!

"As two couples traveling around Hawaii, Dave and Karen's condo was absolutely perfect. The location was wonderful (incredible view!) and the condo was very clean and lovely. We were grateful that they had snorkeling gear and are open to guest use. The laundry facilities were a big plus - good machines, easy to use/access. We thoroughly enjoyed traveling to neighboring towns and sightseeing. Karen was extremely helpful both prior to our trip and after our return. We could not have asked for a better experience. If we are ever lucky enough to return to Kauai, we will certainly be in touch!!"

  • Great House

"Stayed here for an all-too-short week with 2 other couples (6 adults, 2 young children). Unanimous opinion of our entire group was this is a great house. It is perfectly situated with bedrooms downstairs and the living/common areas upstairs. The main living room is really great for a large group. Furniture is comfortable, and there is plenty of room for people to spread out. The views, as everyone says, really are amazing. We have stayed in Kauai for years, and the view here can't be beat. Nothing quite like waking up in the morning and watching the whales and dolphins right outside. Nice pair of binoculars come with the house as well. The location of the house is very good, midway between Poipu beaches and the Hyatt beach. The walk to either is less than 10 minutes, longer with little kids! Its a bit of a hike coming back to the house up the hill, but not bad. We were thinking they could install a hipline from the deck down to Brennecke's beach…now that would be nice. No AC in the house, but it cooled off very well with the trade winds. Just be careful after dark with the bugs coming in. House was very well equipped with kitchen fixtures and plenty of extra beach gear (boogie boards, fins, masks, kids sand toys, etc). Really just a great place to stay as a large family or multiple families. No hesitation to stay here again."

  • Great location!

"We LOVE this condo! We try to come every summer. We enjoy the fabulous ocean view where we can sit all day and watch the sea turtles, surfers, and the gorgeous sunsets. It's hard to leave the condo and it is literally steps from the ocean. It's also a good location for those who want to do activities. The owners are excellent too."

  • super fantastic

"we enjoyed our visit to Kaua'i and Hale Ohana. More than once my husband commented that we had a great place to stay. This was not my husband's first comment though. He first blurted, "You booked us a place to stay with no air conditioner." After opening the windows, the lack of AC was never mentioned again. AC is not needed here! We enjoyed every activity: Waimea Canyon, kayak/hike to secret waterfall, NaPali sunset cruise, snorkeling. Thanks, Lynelle, for the snorkel/beach equipment. We were able to brew local coffee each morning. We ate at a place that I don't remember the name (near Roy's). We experienced the Aloha spirit here. Two locals talked to us and helped us with some ideas to visit. We also ate at Merriman's and the Port Allen brew pub. After the Waimea Canyon lookouts, we also saw the NaPali coastline. We hiked on a muddy/wet trail and saw views/plants/rain forrest galore. We did not go to the end, but what we saw was gorgeous. We went to a Poipu beach via a long, bumpy dirt road, but it was beautiful. Things we wanted to do, but didn't have time: hike to a waterfall in the Waimea Canyon area, go to the end of the road past Waimea, hike part of the NaPali trail on the north shore, snorkel again, go to beaches on the east side. Roosters/chickens ... all over the place and on other islands. These creatures are on Maui and our daughter said that they came for a while where she was on the north shore of Oahu. These animals were at the top of the Waimea Canyon. At home, chickens/roosters would not last long in the wild due to predators. Hale Ohana is a great place to stay with your family!
