"The ocean views were outstanding. Saw turtles and whales. The breeze throughout the condo was very pleasant and the master bed very comfortable. We enjoyed the short walk to the beach area in front of the Beach House Restaurant. The beach was great for swimming and snorkeling. Beach chairs and beach towels were provided. Had a lunch at the Beach House Restaurant. The condo complex has several elevators and baggage carts very convenient for groceries and luggage. Very convenient parking. No pool, however one of the best beaches are just steps away. Good beach for kids"

"Perfect place to spend our honeymoon. The location really can't be beat, especially for the affordable cost. Our favorite part was watching the green parrots in the palm trees right off the lanai at dawn and dusk coming in to roost for the night. I've never seen anything like it! The AC was very helpful on evenings when the trade winds weren't blowing. It was also nice to sleep some nights without it. The pool area was a clean quiet oasis. There were beach chairs, boogie boards, umbrellas and snorkel gear that we took to Poipu Beach and Ke'e Beach for all day excursions. The bed was nice and big and comfy. There were plenty of towels in the closet plus hangers and a spare rod so you can dry your suits and towels in the shower. The couch area was perfect for having morning coffee while watching the news for the weather and surf report or relaxing in the afternoon with a book and a cool drink. The unit is on the top floor and near the stairs. With the exception of a few slamming doors now and then the room is very peaceful and quiet. Absolutely no road noise whatsoever. Just the relaxing waterfall near the pool and the occasional Kauai chicken.
We did have a little bit of a problem keeping the sugar ants at bay. We kept the counters and sink wiped clean but as soon as we turned the oven on they came running out. That's what you get in the tropics though, keep it tidy and they weren't too bad. The stove burners were a little wonky and I had a pan go sliding off a few times but we managed. Used the grills down by the pool area to cook up some ono and fresh local veggies from the Wednesday market at Kukui'ula shoping center which is within walking distance. They also have live music on Friday nights. It was really nice having a kitchen area to save money and cook in some of our meals. Our favorite breakfast was half of a papaya with some yogurt and Anahola granola. YUM!
There's a very nice laundry room down on the first floor for people who need to do a wash. There was a basket in the bathroom closet that we used a couple of times to take down and run a quick load.
Lawai Beach and the Beach House restaurant are right across the street. One of the best places on the island to watch the sunset!
Kauai Vacation Rentals were very helpful and accommodating. We absolutely loved the shopping bag and the little lunch cooler with coffee and goodies. It was such a nice touch. Thank you so much for helping us have a memorable trip. Mahalo!"

"Just spent 8 days at #217 and found it to be an amazing place to stay. Located right on the oceanfront and the waves are crashing on the rocks for a very restorative and relaxing sound. The view from all the living area is spectacular and the many surfers were entertaining. The condo is very clean and nicely decorated. The kitchen is great and has everything you need . The beds are comfortable. The lanai is such a great place, one our favorite things was sitting on the lanai with a glass of wine at the end of the day to watch the sunset. Kuhio Shores is a perfect location for getting to the many beautiful and exciting things to do on Kauai and Mike and Sue were great to give information about where to go. We loved walking to the spouting horn and to the shops at Kukuiula Village shops. Several very good restaurants there and we enjoyed the farmers market on Wednesday evenings. There is also very good ice cream and shave ice. Beaches on either side and easy access to Poipu Beach and other popular beaches. We are grateful to Mike and sue Galvin for sharing this wonderful place to stay."

"The unit is very nice. We were there end of October and it was unusually hot. The unit is unbearably hot/stuffy in the morning as the sun rises into the east windows. You have to leave and do something in the morning and come back later. For this reason I probably wouldn't stay here again unless AC is installed"
