  • Perfect Place to Getaway!

"I have traveled quite a bit and spent time on a number of the islands, always looking for something that is reasonable, but nice as well. This property fulfilled all of our needs. We arrived in the evening and had no issues with checking in. Everything was waiting for us. First impressions of the condo was that of a well taken care of property that had been carefully furnished. The decore was very nice with a true island feel, with high quality furnishings. Loved being able to sit on the balcony in the morning with a cup of coffee and hear the ocean waves...jetlag had me up at 3:00 am, but it was nice to just have a quiet place to relax with the fresh ocean air. Once our day began, we walked down to the beach. Not too far of a walk, but you have to leave the property and walk down. We walked by the ocean on the property, which had some awesome views of the waves crashing on the rocks, but no way to swim off of there unless you were a turtle. Took us about 10 minutes to walk the beach, but later in the week we drove down so we could leave the beach and go to some lunch at one of the market areas just down the road. There were boogie boards and snorkle equipment in the room, so we did not have to spend anything on renting from a place on the beach, which was also really nice. Eating out can get expensive, but the nice part of renting a condo that is fully furnished is that the kitchen had the necessities for us to cook for the family. We managed to find a fish market and pick up fresh mahi mahi, which we grilled on the gas grills provided on the property. There is a dishwasher, so that made cleanup a lot easier. Played 2 rounds of golf during this trip. Bring your clubs, the Poipu Bay Course and Princeville are both awesome. Just something about playing golf on ocean holes that just makes that special. The Poipu Bay course is minutes from the property, Princeville is on the north end of the island, but also worth the drive. Like any trip to Hawaii, it never seems to be long enough. There is a full washer and dryer in the condo, so you can avoid flying home with a suitcase full of dirty clothes. Just not an option you would have in a regular hotel room, just very convenient. We will definitely keep this condo on our list for future trips!"

  • First visit to Kauai

"Great location - we enjoyed sitting outside watching the crashing of the waves. Rooms were clean and neat. The fan in the master bedroom was not working upon our arrival, but with a quick call to maintenance, a new fan was installed the very next day. Very comfortable place to relax and enjoy our visit. We discovered that Poipu had sunshine most of the time compared to the rest of the island so it was great to come back and enjoy the weather. Condo is within walking distance to the beach and restaurants. Would definitely recommend the location to others."

"My husband and I typically prefer a condo unit with a walkout, beach front property but when reading the review of this condo decided to give this unit a a try because of the great reviews indicating whale activity during whale migration season. We stayed mid- February thru early March. kidding, spout watching was like watching popcorn pop and we saw whale tails splashing and a breach or two right from our condo. We also watched dolphins, sea turtles and monk seals from our condo deck. Condo unit is nice, clean, spacious and comfortable with a great amount of amenities including more than enough fans in the unit to provide us with air, if needed. Yes, there is no walkout beach BUT there is spectacular ocean view and we TOTALLY enjoyed watching and listening to the sea rolls right from our condo. Great rocks and cliffs to climb and explore along the coast line as well. Sunsets, has it all. Bill was great to work with and really made the initial ground work of getting a trip like this off the ground a very easy feat. Prior to our arrival, he made certain we had access to contact numbers should we need help with anything regarding the rental of the condo. LOVE Kauai, loved staying at Makahuena and all that it offered to my family and I. Also, we had great experiences with all of the following companies. Jack Harter Helicopters, Back Country Adventures (tubing and zipline) Luau Kalamaku and Captain Andy’s Napali Coast Sunset Dinner Cruise. Great people, very informative and FUN! We all found Kauai to be a great island to explore and when we weren’t out exploring, we LOVED being “at home” back at the condo."

  • Hale Malanai is fantastic!!!

"This house is charming with special touches that are extraordinary for a rental ( like a wine exchange based on the honor system and a fabulous kitchen). So many reasons this is a great choice.....In close proximity to great restaurants, sunny side of the island, across the street from the baby beach which is awesome for families, two bedrooms and a murphy bed and a pack and play if needed ( we visited with me, my husband, my mother, 5 year old and 1 year old ), AMAZING wrap around deck with a view of the ocean and a table to enjoy meals on deck. Parking under the house is super convenient. The owners love of Kauai really comes through and it is a great value!!!!"
